It's been brought to my attention that I forgot to put the amount of butter you will need for this recipe! It's 6 Tablespoons of cold butter!! So sorry to anyone who ended up having to guess! :(
What a Delightful episode ! Again, such a Lovely job on this one as well : ) Thank-you for sharing & I enjoy hearing both of your assessments / evaluation of the Recipes you make : ) HAGN !!
Oh my goodness...Absolutely loved this video. You did a great job on this wonderful book, Anne of Green Gables. Had no idea there was a cookbook. Those tarts looked fantastic. I hope you receive many, many views. What a way to encourage children to read about Anne and maybe try some of the recipes. My favorite movie was the black and white 1934 movie , Anne of Green Gables. I always remember she would say Anne with an E. Great video. Can't wait for the next one.
Thank you!! It would be the best thing ever if my video got more children to read Anne. Personally, I think it should be on our school reading lists as it is in Japan! I too love the 1934 movie and one of the best days of my life was getting to tour Prince Edward Island and seeing everything Anne!! Hopefully, you'll get to make these tarts, brew a good cup of tea and watch Anne soon 😃😃😃
Thank you so much for the kind words! I'm glad you enjoyed watching the video as much as I enjoyed making it. It's always nice to meet another Anne fan!!
Love everything about this! I love Anne of Green Gables and I really appreciate how adorable and informative your video is! I just have to purchase this cookbook too now haha. Can’t wait to watch more videos! Thank you :)
@@ACookbookCollector : Have you tried cooking the Plum Puffs from Anne of Avonlea with Megan Fellows?www.anneofgreengables.com/recipes/recipes-from-avonlea-plum-puffs
I just did this but with fresh strawberries for one batch, and fresh blueberries for another. I was rather pleased with how it turned out. We did our tea party today for Canada day. We also had the lemon cookies and tea biscuits from the Anne of Green Gables Treasury. I would say it was rather successful, and the whole family enjoyed it. I did make everything non dairy (using margarine instead of butter, and for the tea biscuits, almond milk instead of milk.) I could make them dairy, but I prefer to make my baked goods non dairy so that we can have them after or with meals that have meat. (We keep kosher, and we can't have dairy and meat together, which is why almost always refrain from using dairy ingredients when baking.) I think it is fine, but probably if I were to use butter, they would taste better.
That sounds so good! And I can't think of a more perfect way to celebrate Canada Day than with Anne! And that's a wonderful skill to be able to change a recipe to specific dietary needs. I'm sure they tasted great! Thank you for watching and glad you had such a good day with Anne and family!!
Did the water in the egg yolk need t be ice cold? Also seemed like it might be easily to overwork but it look like it just pressed together. Now I want to try it, but either scott’s strawberries or blackberries (my fave). Y’all keep these videos coming! Love em! (Still making me homesick)
The water can be room temperature and the dough was so easy! It worked together in no time. I think strawberries or blackberries would be wonderful. I could see making some of each and having a variety of little tarts to snack on!! Thank you for watching and I'm so glad you enjoyed it!!
You bake them at 425 degrees for 10 minutes then turn your oven down to 350 degrees for about 15 minutes more or until golden brown. You don't need to prebake the shells. Hope this helps and thanks for watching!!! 😊😊😊
The tarts are raspberry and very good but if you're referring to the book then it's raspberry cordial that Anne accidentally gives to her friend Diana, which of course she gets in lots of trouble for!
@@ACookbookCollector i just got a used copy. I suspect it is an older edition than yours. It is very cute. I think the new version must have more recipes. I don't remember shepherd's pie being in this.
@@chanahminuk8485 I think I've seen the older version on Ebay. This is an updated copy so they probably added to it. I almost got the older copy too just to see! It did look really cute!
@@ACookbookCollector I checked, and it seems your copy is an update. I put this version on hold in my library (electronic version of course) to see the differences.
@@ACookbookCollector oh wow thank you for the quick response. I went with 8 the crust (uncooked) seemed a little extra buttery so I adjusted it a little. The filling is amazing they are in the oven now. :)
Thank you so much! I love any kind of lemon tea with these. I think lemon goes really well with berries. But I wonder if Jane Grey would be good since it has some citrus notes also! I may have to make another batch soon and see! I hope you like them! And let me know what tea you picked!!
@@ACookbookCollector Thank you for those recommendations. 😋 I was gifted that cook book from a thoughtful friend on my 40th birthday. I will try that recipe & let you know what tea I choose. Loving your videos!! 💗

They look so delicious!!
They really are! It's one of our favorite desserts we've done for the channel!!
Though I am not normally into pastries, those raspberry tarts look so delicious. I can enjoy
one or two with a cup of decaf coffee.
I think you'll love them! They're not overly sweet so they go perfect with tea or coffee. Thank you for watching!!

Plum puffs or raspberry cordial?

great video, make me some.
😂😂😂😂 Next time we'll try not to eat them all..... but I can't promise anything!!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Can you make the bread recipe?😭😭
what are the other recipes in the book?
It ranges from lemonade to tea biscuits, plum pudding, vegetable soup, shepherds pie and many others. It's really cute and worth picking up!
