What a wonderful collection. So funny that this came up on my Subscription Feed this morning. After reading two rather serious books, I needed to revisit something happy. So I reread Anne of Green Gables last night. It's one of my go-to books when I need a little cheering up.
I agree, it is such a good book when you need cheering up! Anne has a wonderful way of not denying the hard things in life, but also still managing to look on the positive side.
You really make me want to pick up more Montgomery. :) I've only read her Anne and Emily series and I don't think much more by her has been translated into German which is how I first found her. In fact I have never read her books in English. :D So wonderful you got to play Anne. :)
Thanks so much! If you're looking for where to go next, I would recommend The Blue Castle or Jane of Lantern Hill. They're stand alones and some of my favourites! I don't know if they're published in German or not, but they have some beautiful newer English editions.
Finally had a chance to watch this. Glad I could inspire you! :) They are so beautiful! I love old books so much! When I was in high school, I got to play Rachel Lynde in a production of Anne. I'm not much of an actress, but I LOVED playing her. :) Also, Rilla was always one of my favorite characters growing up. How awesome that you got to produce a play based on the book!! :D
My name is Rachel Lynn Rose. For years I thought they were saying Rachel Lynn instead of Lynde in the Sullivan movie. Rose is my maiden name and favorite flower. When Road to Avonlea was on television and I saw Rose cottage I knew I was home. One day my husband promised to build it for me one day.
That’s such a wonderful “God Wink” story! That’s so awesome you got to play Anne! My dream role is Hermia in Midsummer Night’s Dream... but I’m DEFINITELY too old for it now. Maybe someday I can play it in the nursing home. 😂
Aww, I would totally want to see you as Hermia! You'd do great with the whole "Though she be but little she is fierce!" I got to play Helena and always loved saying that line 😆
Meghan Hanet LOL I was Snout in Midsummer a few years ago and Hippolyta in a high school production, but never Hermia, sadly. Helena is a great role, too! I got that line tattooed on my foot and thought I’d regret it, but I love seeing it everyday.
Hello! Can you please share the link for the replica of original version of Anne of Green Gables book from where I can buy. I would love to buy me one.
Earlier today I looked up on Ebay what an estimated cost might be for a 1st canadian edition 1942 near mint condition would sell for approximately.....and later on in the day this video comes up on my feed? Also a pawn stars episode of the original 1st edition which sold for 17000 dollars lol. She's Canada's Mark Twain but better
Aw, thanks so much! I went back to school to become a therapist so I have shifted my focus away from RUclips for a while. It's so encouraging to hear that you like my channel ❤
Besides the classic eight, Chronicles of Avonlea and Further Chronicles of Avonlea contain a little bit of Anne. There's also The Road to Yesterday and The Blythes Are Quoted. I hope you enjoy!
