    3D animated concept music video that plays upon a psychological conundrum. As ‘visions’ are largely a construct of the imagination, its story and true meaning are left up to the viewer’s interpretation. After watching the video, please read below and comment. This tale has many layers - if you choose to see them. Inspired by Twilight Zone, Outer Limits, Hitchcock, etc.
    “It’s a riddle wrapped in a mystery inside an enigma.” - Winston Churchill.

    // In the mind’s eye //
    The ‘story’ is revealed in abstract to provoke questions. Is it a dream, a memory, a premonition or something else? What is the role of the Ghost Cat and the other animals in the narrative? Is the Ghost Cat a witness, a harbinger of death or merely a ‘vehicle’ to propel the story forward? Is the girl who appears to be hit by the car real or imagined? If the Ghost Cat is a witness, what (or whom) does the eye following the car represent?

    // The passive observer //
    Like most cats, our Ghost Cat does not reveal much. As the central character in the story, it does little but sees all - or does it?
    The association of cats with death has a long and sordid history. Many people through the ages believe that cats have the uncanny ability to sense the coming of death in people (as well as their own demise). Generally speaking, animals are better attuned to fear and danger than humans due to their heightened senses.
    But when the Grim Reaper literally appears to affirm that death has come (or is coming), our Ghost Cat is looking away (apparently at the driver of the car). It never sees ‘Death’ (although it does see the girl who was presumably killed). This would seem to suggest that our Ghost Cat is not a harbinger of death, but more of a passive observer. A mere witness to events.
    But unlike our passive protagonist, the aggressive dog and scared rabbit in the story seem to be reacting to danger. While the two cats on the street appear to be reacting to a sound (presumably the impact of the car hitting the girl and the contents of her bag spilling onto the road). All the animals in the story provide clues as to what is happening (or what will happen). But with clues come more questions.

    // A dream within a dream //
    If one is to surmise from the woman in the bed at the end of the story that all of this is just a dream (perhaps a manifestation of guilt from the trauma of a horrible accident), our Ghost Cat seems to have its own Kubrickesque flashback moment. The apparent victim that is killed is seen briefly in a kind of surreal Space Odyssey time warp. Again, this is speculative as to who is seeing what. But then who is the man in the tunnel that then becomes the Grim Reaper?

    // Dream or premonition? //
    If we assume that the woman in the bed is dreaming and the eye following the car is her mind’s eye perceiving everything, what is the meaning of the ghostly figure hovering above her? Is that the woman’s unconscious self? Is that the girl who was killed in the accident? Did any of these events actually happen or are they visions of what could or will be?

    // Unanswered questions //
    Cast of characters: A male silhouette with no identity (who appears to personify Death), an accident victim we only see from behind, an unknown woman in bed (apparently dreaming) and a Ghost Cat that we only see in the car.
    If the Ghost Cat belongs to the woman in the bed, why isn’t it sleeping next to her? There also seems to be no connection with the Ghost Cat and the girl victim or the man in the tunnel. Which brings us back to the “Eye.”
    What if the eye following the car does not represent the woman in bed (or the girl who was killed)? Maybe what the eye perceives is actually the perspective of the man in the tunnel. And if the man in the tunnel personifies ‘Death’ (Grim Reaper), then the woman in the bed and the girl that was killed could be connected in another way.
    What if our Ghost Cat is not actually a ghost, but can see ghosts? If yes, our Ghost Cat may not belong to anyone in the story. That’s why it’s only seen in the car and not with the girl victim, the man in the tunnel or the woman in the bed. The cat only interacts with one person who we never see.
    So the real question is… who is driving the car?
