I thought this is gonna be heartbroken once i see the adult skeletons but im glad their offsprings is safe and sound. This is why i love independent animators.
Considering that the parent was nearby waiting for the egg to hatch, you should be glad the little one even knows what is safe to eat without being taught by anyone
THIS WAS AMAZING! I may be stupid for saying this, but seeing recognition for how interesting and cool gigantoraptors are is rarely shown. Their species is one of a kind! Edit: To anyone who thinks the little cuties are citipati or oviraptor, the adult skeletons were massive! And when comparing it to the sauropod skeleton, it HAS to be gigantoraptor. No other species could get that big.
As one of the co-creators of this little ball of blue feathers, I wish to express everyone my deepest thanks for all the positive comments and constructive criticisms ! Plum is the fruit (pun intended) of a lot of discussions, sometimes heated in regard to what it should be : how scientifically accurate should we be (spoilers : in the end, not that much, which was a bit saddening for the dino lovers part of the crew) ? Should we completely break the heart of our poor audience or should we leave a place for hope ? Is the dragonfly a friend or a foe ? How many plums could Plum eat ? After all these (more or less) deep questions and hard work, we are so grateful to see this short having such success ! Once again, thank you for the love you showed to this little baby dinosaur making his first footsteps in this hard world.

Becoming born in a world where your kind is non-existent is a depressing thought to think of. Inexpediently it could remind someone of the "Last Man on Earth" troupes found in _I Am Legend_ or the titular 1964 film; it leaves an empty void to wonder if hope is anywhere to be found. Luckily for this little guy, there was a happy ending.
You got it right ! One of the things we wanted to talk about in this short movie was the feeling the new generation was experiencing : being born at the edge of the end of a world. Are you born too late or too soon ? Once the innocence is gone and when you see in how precarious your situation really is, it is easy to despair. Fortunately, it is only the end of a world, there is no such thing as a definitive end.
This was gorgeous. And I love how adorably you portrayed the little dinosaur - not like a monster, but also not in the same style as other major studios have even when portraying them as neutral or good.

the cute dinosaur was frightened when he realized that all his relatives had been died and he felt lonely. In a way, he thought, "What will I do now?" However, when he saw the remaining eggs, he understood that he wasn't alone, just the first. He realized that the others would hatch from the eggs after him, and he became very happy. For example, in life, we might notice, understand, or realize something before anyone else, and seeing that there's no one ahead of us on this path can make us anxious. We might doubt whether what we've realized is actually correct and worry about being alone in this thought. However, it takes time for others to understand or realize it as well - everyone hatches from their egg at their own time. When we understand this, we become happy, and those previous anxieties fade away. They will inevitably hatch one day and be with us; the only unknown is when. This is a very broad analogy, of course, but that's what I think. Everything has its own time, and there's no need to worry about it before its time comes.
Wow, the animation so colourful and smooth. A story that pulls at the heartstrings but thankfully had a good ending. Only wish he went back and flipped that poor bug over the correct way. To everyone who contributed to this short film, well done, it was enjoyable.
