My old buddy Rob, known him for 30 years, came by and said his fuses kept blowing..and asked if i had a "40 amp" for him. I took one look at his system and knew i had to do something. I fixed him up and got him on the road. I told him, when i have time, i will go through and fix all this stuff for you. It's BAD. REAL Bad. In a funny way. I guess he got it mostly like this. I don't know who is responsible for the bucket o' bass but i HAD to share this with you guys. Make sure to subscribe and hit like if you think i should hook Rob up proper and fix this for him.

meade916 love the vids man had to subscribe! I’m a fellow bass head from NJ. I like your style you’re a humble dude and always down to help a man who’s down. Nice to see in this crazy world, stay bumpin my man!
Ask the guy if he is willing to buy new door panels. That's where I would start.
Put them amps on the Amy Dyno let's see what they do
That dude must be one close ass friend 😂
meade916 wow bro looks like a Oakland tweeker did that job
Dat suspense of what's coming next....classic!
i am still trying to decide what's next D! LOL..i figured i would come up with something once i cleared the other bullshit out first :D
"Dude I just found a roach, there's like half a joint back here"
That Cali life. Lol. Hey man if you're doing this for free to help him out then I vote you're a legend. Its cool to see these people get sorted out as sometimes they're just trying the best with what little they have, sadly it sometimes gets a bit ugly eh!
I vote for much longer videos really enjoy watching these builds.
That entire system was just a fire waiting to happen.
"What did i get myself into?"
I knew that line would come sooner or later :D
You knew it was bad, but you did it anyway. It's a challenge, that's for sure. But, we all here have confidence you will make it the best you can. All because you couldn't stand to see the way it was.
Most shops would be like "get the fuck outta here with that junk". But you didn't.
You sacrifice your free time to completely overhaul a mate's system.
This shows the passion you got for what you do, and that's what makes you stand out.
Good luck with this build, bro. You'll need it. We're all anxious to see the finished product. Because we all know this car will not leave your shop unless you're proud of it.
Good shit Darth, thank you for the very nice comment. I appreciate that to the fullest.
meade916 any time, mate. :)
Very satisfying to remove all that old crap and starting over fresh. It is already looking so much better!
It's like stress relief to watch all of that stuff get cut out lol
ahhhh this is the kind of content i love from your channel steve
Love this kind of series. Like when you fixed the green chevelle
With friends like you who needs more friends .awesome gesture Steve 👍👍
Your a awesome homie for doing this for your homeboy
You are a good friend Mr. Steve Meade. You or someone I look up to Aspire to be.
Steve you the man. His old install may just be worse then the system in the 72 Chevelle you redid years ago.
This was extremely painful to watch. You're a good friend man. Good luck.
Love this style of video man. Always an pleasure to watch an installer who pays attention to detail and doesn't cut corners.
Holy shit, that's what i call a fuse bone yard. Rob, you're not going to know what hit you, when you hear this thing beat. The Legend's at SMD, that is Mr Steve Meade and the Crew.
You said that you've been friends for a long time and then you decided to take on this headache for him. Lol. You're a good man that likes a challenge. Love the videos. Keep it up
LOL reminds me of the good ole days when me and the bros were like "Fuck it it's ugly lets just get this shit playin!" Do your buddy right on this install Steve..tuned in! \m/
This shit is so damn entertaining. It's like Pimp My Ride but realistic. Thanks RUclips for sponsoring this rebuild.
This reminds me of the green Chevelle filled with Grandmas lamp cord 😂😂
CLASSIC! thanks for watching my vid's Jayy bro.
Always brother 💪
That truck has got "tweeker" written all over it.
Amp test Tuesday with the 2 amps?
I can’t wait for the next video
I learn stuff watching your videos man
Two years ago I clean up my truck system and after I upgraded that time the head unit I didn’t like all the cut and cap wires so I start to clean it up and ever since I don’t trust no one.
The guy who install that system told me he had years of experience but when I saw it I knew that experience ain’t worth shit was the worst wiring I ever seen.
Keep it up dude
I hope the sub in a bucket stays around the shop as a conversation piece of what NOT to do, that and it's funny as heck! I guess they saw the Mighty Car Mods video of an enclosure made out of an old tire and decided a bucket was just as good! Looking forward to seeing what you do with it, and how much of the old system gets reused.
That Pyle "Bucket O' Bass" was gettin it!
At least he had some fuses. It's a miracle it didn't burn down... Lol
Great video Steve. You’re work is clean can’t Wait for the final results.
True friends are hard to come by, great job.
Hacks gone wild lmao.im so glad they came to you to fix this.thats a fire waitin to happen bro
Your one hell of a good guy Steve!! Hang in there, Also agree with Phillip dyno the amp see what its got! Keep em coming
Steve`s Big heart = BIG SMILES
I’ve done my own installs. I’m not a pro or anywhere good as Steve. But this setup is so fucked up lol. The worst I’ll do get my gains and settings on amp all wrong but I won’t let it look like shit. Poor guy, Steve will have this sorted in no time 😁
Horrible to watch those wires its not hard to install an amp and sub
Chris: post your best sub/amp install. Lets see how you do. You seem very confident you must have video/pictures somewhere.
Not yourse the guy who did it in the truck
This is the "HMU for a sound system for cheap. Good quality, clean work." Starter pack😂😂😂😂😂
Throw those amps on the dyno and see what they really make.
I say its gonna be a 7 part series. Dope steve!
Looking forward to the next episode. Car Audio Rescue
Been watching for 11 years.. Content hasn't let me down
As I'm watching, I was thinking what you said at the end; what did you get yourself into LOL I was a car audio installer for two years and this is on point with what we saw all the time.
it looks like...
do it ur self gone wrong... 😂😂
but now the whole setup is in good hands... 👌👍
Put them amps on the Dyno before putting them back in.
After watching this, I have a new found respect for you and your shop.
this ain't nothin' new, it's what ive BEEN doing. thanks though man! :D
so can't wait to see what magic you gonna pull off on this one
Looks like a tweaker got a hold of that system.... Good luck Steve! I'm sure you will make it legit...
A little house carpet padding never hurt anyone
The title could've been "Pimp My Audio" 😂😂
3:41 I guess you could say the build was SHOCKING!!
I’ll find my way to the door now.
That ALPINE 4CH needs a amp test Tuesday!
As crazy as it sounds this is a very good video for guys who want to get into the installation business. It lets you see what you’ll probably come up against. I’ve done one of these before and it sucked
This was a very satisfying video. The vacuum part was the best.
I’m cracking up ripping it out like you stole it 😂😂😂
The things we do for friends, I just finished up a nice under seat fiberglass enclosure for two 8’s for my buddy. Once again shout out to SMD Sunflash for making it easy
Just when you think it can’t get any worse, it keeps getting worse lol
I get that he just wanted to bang , but why would you have that stuff rigged up like that?
That taped connection you pulled apart on IG was scary and funny at the same time.
Oh well that's in the past, it's in REALLY good hands now. Looking forward to seeing this build.
this is the shit I really like seeing .. its more of a realworld rip out and replace.
I really looking forward to see how this will end !!!
Love this Series already
Hope he cleans the truck up after you clean up all the audio equiptment
Honestly, I enjoy seeing some of the cobbed ass MacGyver shit people do, ive ran into a handfull like this truck and its always a good feeling when you go in and install everything fresh. I cant wait to see the next episode im sure you and the team will set it up crisp.
I’m very impressed a fire never happened in there
These are my favorite videos you do. fixin up some ol busted junk. Some of the wiring jobs are hilarious. Thats a stoner on the go.
Again it is nice to see you helping out your pals. I do the same for mine when I can. I try to keep them from getting it that way in the first place but we all do what we can even though it may be the wrong way. I've been there myself back in the day. Good work and I love to see you helping out folks because you can!
I have been in to car audio for a long time and I have seen some shit. To be honest, I think this is the worse system install I have ever seen. This guy was lucky it didn't burn to the ground. Love these type of vids.
Giving back brutha, that’s where it’s at! Good shit
I feel very familiarized with this type of installations, in my city there's a lot of audio shops that make that kind of junk, the worst part is that they are self-called "professionals". sorry my bad english.
That truck was just waiting to burn 🤣
nibbzs15
Who knows how many hidden circuits are there..
Dude, i dig these #FailAndFix vid's.
That shit is literally worse than the green Chevelle you did years ago.
That's one big mess. Big ups for the patience to even fix it. I would of set that shit on fire from the start and tell him it was a electrical issue... That handle tho lmao 😂😂😂
Call these rebuild... I be damn!!! That install was done in a alley!! 😳
That door speaker "install" literally made me cringe... Also, what's with all the unnecessary wiring, there's enough wiring for two stereo installs in there.
Damn, this man is generous
That install was a rolling dumpster fire!
My OCD approves. Well done, sir. Well done.
Your a good man Steve.
U da man Steve, I look forward to seeing ur videos so much pimpin. I've been a fan since da Tahoe was repainted. Keep it real g. ✌✌✌✌
Ahhhh so satisfying to see all those wires and shit ripped out
tell me about it hahah! feels good to see it all out and give me a fresh canvas to work with :D
Need to put those old apps on the dyno just for fun and see what they can do
Helpin a buddy out always turns into just redoing the whole system. Lol. Ull hook em up proper u always do brotha
Lol yep been there
So I’m 16 and I bought a 2001 Silverado and the guy I got it from had already had subs in it they are two 8 inch kicker comps and they hit pretty good they lasted me 6 mouths till i blew one of they so I bought me some new subs and when I was taking everything out the amp just had screws in the carpet to hold it in and there was still paint for the ground and the part that got me mad the most was that the subs where glued on to the boxes
That was pretty funny when the speaker fell out hope you're putting some new door panels on that piece . Looking forward to the next one
Im dying when you said its always best so they dont rotate.... hahahahahaahhahahaha oh man that post was too much, I just couldnt deal with it any more. LOL
It's cool seeing Baby as a full-time shop dog. 😁
Love these beater back 2 life videos
Dam im surprised that shit didnt catch on fire!
This gives me the nostalgias, was an installer in the '90s worked on lots of these trucks. Funny enough, I fixed plenty of household wiring connecting audio, remote starters, hands free kits etc. done by professional electricians. Freaking Sparkys.
Wow bro im so exited to see what your going to do! Looks like your going to get some free landscape construction action at your pad ill hook u up
no worries Rob bro we will get this thing sounding right soon. :D
waiting on video 3 bro....
Man you're a good friend to even tackle that. I'm sure dude will really appreciate it.
Best. Friend. Ever.
I love these build series videos!
should do an amp test with that amp you pulled from the truck! (or both of them lol) :D i wanna see just how low the output is xD
Haha he said he didn’t do it !! Lol. Dam right he installed it all! Love these types of videos Steve! Keep them up! Been watching for over 10 years !
Ant is making some monster beats. Let him know keep doing what he's doing
We found a roach, dig it out might need it after this clean up. Hahahabaaaaa
I agree with you bro started fresh can't wait for part 3
I really like these videos
Been watching for a long time. And some of my favorite videos are the ones where you help out old friends. Keep up the good vids
Hey Steve there is a grommet hole behind the radiator resivor that you can use. I also have. 1992 Chevy that I had to do complete audio redo and this is bring back some good memories.
I was laughing at this set up. sheeshhh... good laugh 😃
