As Vader said in Episode IV... "I sense something, a presence I don't felt since...", he couldn't feel Kenobi before since the was disconected himself from the force, but when he reconected again... Vader felt him.
There is the moment in ANH when Vader says “Obi Wan is here, the Force is with him.” Vader senses Obi Wan on the Death Star when he goes off on his own to disable the tractor beam. Reading between the lines suppose Obi Wan also expected that Vader would be on the battle station it is quite possible that his thoughts were picked up by Vader which caused Vader to realise that Obi Wan was there (and we get the Obi Wan is here line). The cut from Obi Wan to Vader in Kenobi would be a nod to that moment in ANH. Also consider Vader communicating with Luke after their encounter on Cloud City from ESB and the scene from ROTJ which was cut where Vader again communicates with Luke. Perhaps he can communicate with Luke because of their blood bond where as he is only aware of Obi Wan because they are not related. Also in ROTS we assume Palpatine senses Vader is in trouble however Vader may have reached out to Palpatine.
Can’t wait for Vader to go ham. Also Hayden and Ewan interviews are so much fun! They’re enjoying it so much since they haven’t done for the first films. Lets remember that dark side users that don't have yellow eyes typically signal that they have not given themselves in entirety to the dark side, I think they did this on purpose in the series, as you can see that the rest of the Inquisitors have them.
I think it’s more of how deep they are in the dark side, like the inquisitors have yellow eyes but nothing like Palpatine’s, who has been steeped in the dark side of the force so long and so powerfully
One thing that never made sense is Luke keeping the name “Skywalker”. At the very least shouldn’t that name mean something to locals that the youngest person to win the Boonta Eve Podrace was by a “Skywalker”
This is probably why his Uncle Owen keeps him almost completely sheltered. Remember Obi-Wan saying: "There's more out there than just your farm Owen, there's a whole galaxy out there, and he must see that." So, the locals probably never really hear or see Luke. Not to mention that no one ever seems to use his full name. So if he's around the locals of Tatooinee, he might just say he's Luke Lars, (Owen's last name) or simply just "Luke."
With everything that happened AFTER the podrace, I doubt anyone still CARES about the podrace (maybe a few people, but not enough for it to make a difference) And next to nobody knows that Anakin is Darth Vader, so the Skywalker name isn’t tainted.

That homeless Clone has lore now…I don’t know how long he’s had it…his name is Nax, if I’m not mistaken, and he is an OG clone, he was there for Teth, Christophsis, AND Umbara, he was retired due to shrapnel in his leg (which he still has) and his rapid aging
My very thought! That movie had a great impact on Star Wars. It pushed the series way of in scheduling. It was a nuisance at the time, but a point of humor now.
I thought at the end it was Obi Wan communicating through the force and Anakin sensing him through that. Maybe unconsciously after realizing he didn't kill Anakin.
Absolutely loved the Vader reveal. Was watching it with my son & when it shot to the Bafta tank we were literally jumping up & down screaming in my sitting room
I cant wait for the moment when obi wan is completely cornered and doesn't have any other choice than to pull out lightsaber and totally destroy everyone
I immediately thought the sane thing. And planet mpuzo could be a Vonage to Mario puzo who wrote the godfather which movie saved Coppola's career and is very good friends with Lucas.... allot of the names and references have inside meaning
11:26 You, Dan Casey, Ryan Arey, and I all had the same thought during that scene. 12:43 Additionally, Maul survived being cut in half at the waist. As Palpatine said, “The dark side of the Force is a pathway to many abilities some consider to be unnatural.”
The Darth Vader comic by Charles Soule is amazing... Now i want to re-read it! But it does bring up a good point, a lot of that comic sets up how no one knew who Vader was and why the Emperor gave him so much importance... None of the Inquisitors knew his identity and frankly no one could figure out what his official rank was. Makes the part where Reva knows he's Anakin even more interesting.
Reva’s movements on top of the neon city buildings is stylistically similar to some Kung-Fu movies from the 80s and 90s and the colour palette invokes films by Wong Kar-wai such as In the Mood for Love and 2046. Maybe a nod by Deborah Chow to Asian cinema
fun fact, the inquisitors cannot in fact use their sabers to fly. they can only do that when getting a dark side amp like they got from the planet malicor
Swartz!? Spacballs! That movie had a great impact on Star Wars. It pushed the series way of in scheduling. It was a nuisance at the time, but a point of humor now.
1. Breaking Bad Ben 2. The Inquisitors may know about Anakin's transition, if they have access to the archives then they should have access to Palpatine dubbing Anakin as Lord Vader
Could Reva have seen the same recording of Anakin kneeling and being called Darth Vader by the Emperor that Obi wan and Yoda watched in the Jedi temple?
I think Obi-Wan picking the pocket of the guard was to get the key to the restricted area, not to get spice. The spice "grenade" came, I think, from "someone's daughter." I loved McGregor's facial acting not only in the scene where Reva reveals Darth Vader is alive (which was amazing), but also in the scene where he sees the clone trooper. I love the mix of trauma/terror, and pity/sympathy he displays. I also really like how the rivalry between Reva and the Grand Inquisitor is kind of the flip-side of what they say about the Jedi: "The Jedi code is an itch. They cannot help it!" "Jedi hunt themselves"-meaning, because the Jedi always have to do The Right Thing, it is easy to catch them. But meanwhile the inquisitors, in exactly the same way, cannot help who they are: their constant bickering and, um, literal stabbing gets in the way of catching Obi-Wan.
Yeah, all the people screaming 'They're retconning Rebels!?!' need to chill. We've seen characters survive getting literally cut in half, I don't think it's too hard to believe the Grand Inquisitor will be back. Plus, with him out of commission, someone *cough* Vader *cough* *cough* will probably take charge until he is fully healed
Premiering two episodes on the same day with that chilling shot of Anakin in the bacta tank is an effective way of leaving fans wanting more, disney know what they are doing now
4:39 We actually have seen Star Wars characters exponentially high before outside of novels, comics, and video games. Specifically, in The Clone Wars such as in Season 6 Ep. 10 when Obi-Wan and Anakin confront the Pykes on their homeworld, and in the throne room everyone is high as a kite on spice.
Did anyone else notice the monster in the fish tank in what looked like a food market. It looked like the eyeball thing that grabbed Luke in the trash compactor scene. I don't know if it is or not. Reminded me of it though.

Thank you for pointing out all of these amazing details I missed! I'm showing this video to all my friends.
I also do love the John Wick esque, every mercenary and bounty hunter in the area has their cell phone to ring at the same time
That homeless Clone has lore now…I don’t know how long he’s had it…his name is Nax, if I’m not mistaken, and he is an OG clone, he was there for Teth, Christophsis, AND Umbara, he was retired due to shrapnel in his leg (which he still has) and his rapid aging
Swartz on the sign…"May the Schwartz be with you." Spaceballs reference maybe 🤔
My very thought! That movie had a great impact on Star Wars. It pushed the series way of in scheduling. It was a nuisance at the time, but a point of humor now.
I thought at the end it was Obi Wan communicating through the force and Anakin sensing him through that. Maybe unconsciously after realizing he didn't kill Anakin.
I was wondering if that meant they sensed eachother
Umm, it was fairly obvious that’s what happened
@@arubial1229 could’ve just been a cut to Vader it’s hard to tell how creative Disney is sometimes
That last scene was terrifying.
Absolutely loved the Vader reveal.
Was watching it with my son & when it shot to the Bafta tank we were literally jumping up & down screaming in my sitting room
The moment OBI-WAN'S face was full of emotions. OBI-WAN took me back to Revenge of the Sith.
I cant wait for the moment when obi wan is completely cornered and doesn't have any other choice than to pull out lightsaber and totally destroy everyone
I hope part 3 will be a Vader episode
i feel like it is
Most definitely
It will probs start off as a clone wars flashback of anakins memories and then it cuts to him in the bacta tank
I didn’t watch EP3 for years, and didn’t remember if Obi Wan knew Anakin was still alive. DAMN THOSE CHILLLLS
6:48 could also double as an in joke reference to the Schwartz in Mel Brook's Spaceballs
I immediately thought the sane thing. And planet mpuzo could be a Vonage to Mario puzo who wrote the godfather which movie saved Coppola's career and is very good friends with Lucas.... allot of the names and references have inside meaning
That's what I was thinking ;)
11:26 You, Dan Casey, Ryan Arey, and I all had the same thought during that scene.
12:43 Additionally, Maul survived being cut in half at the waist. As Palpatine said, “The dark side of the Force is a pathway to many abilities some consider to be unnatural.”
Amazing episode, and its just gonna get better and better!
It was terrible
I saw a lot of trinity in the beginning of the matrix.
@@fatkat721 ☝️
You are doing one hell of a job 👌🏻👌🏻
Once it switched to Anakin, that gave me big shivers.
Later reva finds them as high as obi wans ground was. I’m in stitches cause of that line! 😂 😂 😂
fun fact, the inquisitors cannot in fact use their sabers to fly. they can only do that when getting a dark side amp like they got from the planet malicor
Swartz!? Spacballs! That movie had a great impact on Star Wars. It pushed the series way of in scheduling. It was a nuisance at the time, but a point of humor now.
Haha precisely what I was thinking
Comb the desert 🏜 “We ain’t found shit” lol 😂
Omggg a spaceballs comment 😂👌
1. Breaking Bad Ben
2. The Inquisitors may know about Anakin's transition, if they have access to the archives then they should have access to Palpatine dubbing Anakin as Lord Vader
True. Reva could've looked at the security footage from the Jedi temple in which Palpatine addresses Anakin as Lord Vader.
I still don't like it
@@johntasevoli6278 me neihter.. i don't like reva in general- idk it's either crazy good writing of a bad character or it's just a bad character
@@luvlee- I don't know generation tech brought another video with good view points but I'm in for one episode at a time
@@johntasevoli6278 ye i suppose we'll see where it goes but i swear if disney ruins this im done
Awesome! Can't wait for Episode 3!
Could Reva have seen the same recording of Anakin kneeling and being called Darth Vader by the Emperor that Obi wan and Yoda watched in the Jedi temple?
i am sure the Palpatine had those erased
@@PopePlatinumBeats we see Obi Wan and Yoda watch it in Revenge of the Sith.
I think Obi-Wan picking the pocket of the guard was to get the key to the restricted area, not to get spice. The spice "grenade" came, I think, from "someone's daughter."
I loved McGregor's facial acting not only in the scene where Reva reveals Darth Vader is alive (which was amazing), but also in the scene where he sees the clone trooper.
No idea how you guys translate all the arebesh keep up the great work!!!
Its just a Cypher not too hard, plus a lot of people do this for almost everything star wars. So I'm sure they used outside sources too for the help.
This was a really good break down.
The moment I saw Haja, I immediately went "Kingo!" Eternals may not have been a strong MCU film but Kingo was hilarious.
Yeah, until he disappeared in the third act for no reason.
You guys ROCK
Yeah, all the people screaming 'They're retconning Rebels!?!' need to chill. We've seen characters survive getting literally cut in half, I don't think it's too hard to believe the Grand Inquisitor will be back. Plus, with him out of commission, someone *cough* Vader *cough* *cough* will probably take charge until he is fully healed
I love how they continue the cutting a hand off trope. 🤣 Awesome..
There is a scene in TCW where Savage Opress uses his horns to kill someone. I know it isn’t Maul using his own, but it was pretty close
The grand inquisitor reminds me a lot of bane from the dark knight rises. Similar speech pattern and inflection.
You're not alone, I actually looked up whether or not they were the same actor after watching the episode.
@@randomanon9290 would’ve loved tom hardy has the grand inquisitor
Missed the Breaking Bad homages. From the lab goggles to smashing the drugs to exit.
Okay im sorry but the Leia bending down like Obi wan did is grasping at straws 🤣
Dammit this series is gonna be my favorite D+ series ever for Star Wars
6:50 may the Swartz be with you 🤣
Premiering two episodes on the same day with that chilling shot of Anakin in the bacta tank is an effective way of leaving fans wanting more, disney know what they are doing now
Except how to direct chase scenes. Or likeable villains
What's so special about a Wound on his head that's making everyone so hyped up like there's no tomorrow.
Imagine if the 501st trooper had recognized Obi-Wan and responded: "Thanks, General."
It's not a Dianoga (the creature in the trash compactor).
@@BloodShed4REAL Thanks!
This is the best thing to ever come out if star wars
point of clarification, he got the spice from his daughter, "this one's for free" he pick pockets the key from the guard

I like how our little princess dons a similar green jacket and hair style as ep 6 ROJ.
Since Obi thought anakin was dead so did Owen. I’m sure this will make Owen even more protective of Luke when he finds out.
"he died about the same time as your father". ....from a certain point of view......OBI-WAN KENOBI "died"; BEN KENOBI is alive and kicking and trying to keep out of site.
@2:55 Obi-Wan is wearing a lightsaber outside of his robes in a club/bar scene...🤷🏾♂️
1:50 Tetha Grig is wearing a pink mullet in episode 2. Obi-Wan wore a mullet in episode II. 😉
So awesome.

Who else thought that the scene where Obi-Wan saves Leia was similar to Peter trying to save Gwen in TASM 2? Just me wondering about this?
True. Very similar.
Yes, but it's better here...
i had that exact thought while watching it
It’s a huge reach to compare those scenes. They are totally different, plus Leia didn’t die, so…
I loved the way u used “thought crime” from george orwells book
