My tears came when Grogu touched Din's face and Din closed his eyes. That is the first time since Din's childhood that someone has touched his face. His first truly personal connection since losing his parents.
I hope the child returns to Din soon before that school massacre happens.
I never looked at it that way. You about to make me cry after the fact
Boo hoo hoo.

Omg, he broke my heart! When he closed his eyes *just before Grogu's hand made contact,* showing us how he was trying so hard to be brave and reassuring to his boy about their separation, but that contact almost brought him to tears...ohhhh! I just couldn't even...
@@Skye_Writer I almost cried in front of my family: I tried not to!
I really like to imagine R2 was just chilling 5 or 6 feet behind while Luke was going to town on the dark troopers. That's somehow funny to me.
Just rocket hovers over their bodies lmao
He would be beeping all over the place saying damn my master is a badass
You better believe that R2 was shocking some dark troopers on the ground that might be struggling to get back up lol
@@wolfenrez oh he was for sure clean up crew for Luke. Gotta make sure no stray troopers ruin his moment with grogu!
He was social distancing duhhhhhhh
R2's just like: "Good God, they get even smaller."
probably happy to see grogu didn't have a cane to hit him with... (let me grab my beater... stop it please)
For a droid character he’s always added a lot of legitimacy to the films he appears in, in my opinion. Both R2 and C3P0 did. At least for me they did. Course they’ve always been much bigger than the sum of all their mechanical parts.
This episode did for Luke what rogue one did for Darth Vader.
Yeah, that scene in the Last Jedi where he was dodging all of Kylo Ren's attacks was cool and all, but this was truly badass
I like to think Anakin trained Luke after his death... Along with Yoda and Obi-wan
@@budtastic1224 think about all of them interacting with eachother tho, like they should make their own spin off of the ghost jedi
It made them both feel so more badass
@@sorchajohnson1203 while the hallway slaughter scenes are badass, I still say the most badass scene that I really want them to make possibly with an older grogu is a Darth Yoda type character snickering while pointing out "death Star need you to destroy a planet, size matters not" as he closes his little fist and you see out the window the planet he's Force crushing. But hallway scenes are cool too.
I wouldn’t call Luke being fan service because the whole series is Mando trying to find Grogu a master and he found a master.
Luke was the perfect fit to the story and timeline. It was great to see him in his full Jedi Master glory
That doesn't make it not fan service though. It absolutely IS fan service. It is just fan service that works brilliantly with the lore. Fan service doesn't have to be bs, out of place, lore-breaking storylines that serve no other purpose but to appease the fans. In star wars, it has just been rare for fan service moments to be used effectively.
There aren't too many Jedi at this time so it was only a matter of time for Luke to appear

hello there
I love how this is the first time Din shows his face to Grogu, allowing Grogu to see him with his own eyes mimicking the moment Vader had his helmet removed to see Luke with his own eyes!!!
👍
that is exactly what is said in the video
bruh they said that
It allowed Din to view Grogu for the first time with his own eyes as well. Remember, that helmet isn't just a visor, it has a monitor screen.
If Grogu was victim of Kylo, he will never be forgiven in my eye.
He killed the rest of the padawans there
Moff Gideon saying that Grogu could bring balance to the force makes me believe there's bigger plans for Grogu in future films
If Grogu's blood is what is used for the Snoke Strandcast, then I am sure Grogu will sense Snoke leading Kylo to the dark and will be able to leave before all the events of Rise of Kylo comics. Grogu wasnt even in them so I doubt it will happen like this.
My theory is Grogu will leave Luke way before this and be like Luke's first failure. (Even though it may not be one and Grogu may become a Jedi in his own right) I believe a Mandalorian civil war will pull Grogu away from his training... He cares too much for Din and is a foundling. Luke will see that Jedi need to care for others and love like his uncorrupted Father did before the Senator turned him. This is why he starts to look differently at the old Jedi. He will start to see the flaws just like Ani and Qui-gon did before him.
True Fact!
RIP to my homie Grogu - Din Djarin

So glad you noticed that back deflection because as soon as I saw it I was like "Hey that's Anakin's fighting style!"
It's not only Anakins, I'm pretty sure it's form 6 or something.
I'm sure the jedi were trained in all the lightsaber forms and chose to master the forms that were best for them and can switch between forms depending on the situation.

Why is nobody talking about how Grogu has more Yoda-like wrinkles around his lips and eyes since his most recent blood draw
Oh my goodness! I thought I was seeing things. I actually was asking myself if he had those wrinkles before
Please never mention Kathleen Kennedy’s god daughter Rey Palpitations
:O I didn't even notice!
And he looked paler too, especially when we first saw him with Moff Gideon. I thought Erik would've mentioned that!
Where's the blood now? That should be the next mission objective: find and retrieve the donor blood samples.
I wasn't disturbed by Luke's face because I was crying so much during that scene
Bo Katan didn't need to defeat Sabine to claim the Dark Saber for that very reason: Sabine didn't win it in combat. Mando defeated Gideon in combat against the Dark Saber. Huge distinction.
I would have been so heartbroken if Mando had given the ball thing to Grogu as he was leaving
That is a very great point that may mean more than you know
Now I'm seeing a scene in Season 3 (or even Season 4) where Din takes out the ball, looks at in sadness. It is then Force-pulled from his fingers, landing in the hands of an older Grogu, returning to see his father
@@9764Danny grogu is like 50 as of the second season of the mandolorian, a older teen grogu won’t be for another 100 or so years, and by then din would be dead of old age.
@@liad345 I said 'older', not teenage
@@liad345 I disagree, because Yoda was a Master at age 100, meaning he had reached full maturity or was very near to it. Grogu is going to mature rapidly in the next 50 years by that estimation. It is very possible that the first 50 years of his life is a prolonged infancy/toddler stage, but he will reach adolescence in a much quicker burst.
That force choke or crush of that Dark trooper with Luke's mechanical arm. Then the aggression Luke mowed them down was just perfect parallels between himself and his father before him.
When the Moff said “The dark saber doesn’t have power, the story does” ya think the writers meant something else by that? Lol
subtle diss lol
I hadn't even thought of that, but looking back it does seem like there are subtle disapproving disses of the sequel trilogy films throughout. Notice how The Mandalorian has gotten near universal acclaim among the fanbase while the sequel films were divisive at best. This is what happens when you let people who love the franchise and are willing to put so much effort into every little detail to make their work feel like a part of that mythology. Dave Filoni and Jon Favreau have more than earned their places amongst the great contributors to the Star Wars universe.
You know this all female thing felt alot more natural than what the avengers did i didn't even think about it while i was watching
Yea I actually agree.
Probably because they didn't make a thing out of it like the Avengers, they just got it done.
Jesus Christ that was a few seconds of fan service. Still can't let that shit go after all this time?
@@AmariAaron absolute crap writing. "all the men suddenly sit down and let the 5 with mammaries carry the ball
Agreed. The Avengers scene was cringeworthy. This one... not so much.
Makes sense that a lightsaber designed by a mandolorian would be better at cutting Beskar
Love this. And yes, totally certain now that R2 saved Grogu because of Grogu recognizing R2 an becoming confident enough to go to Luke only after seeing our favorite droid.
BO-KATAN: "Incoming Craft, Identify yourself."

I know you were just messing around though. It would've been funny to hear. Or Luke seeing the first Dark Trooper right before hacking them to bits and saying "Aren't you a little short for a Dark trooper?" hahah
When the X-Wung pulled up I haven't felt that way since the early 80's 💯🤗👍💚

More Anikan saying to him, This is were the Fun Begins... Let the Force Flow through you. And then murderlating them lol
Very emotional and tearful ending to this episode, it was fantastic. The part that really got the waterworks going was when Luke pulled back the hood. Even though we all knew it was going to be him, just seeing his young face instantly jettisoned me back to 1977 when I was 10 and seeing Star Wars for the first time. There’s a fairly large time gap between the rescue and Kylo’s attack on Luke’s students. Gogru could be gone by then
It’d be about 20 years so I see him being a padawan or a knight because Yoda became a master at 100
yea
@@Momy69420 that’s assuming Luke’s Jedi training was exactly like the JT on Corosaunt which I doubt considering Luke was starting from scratch and got an accelerated course by Yoda.
@@dorklord1078 you are correct
@@210SAi I’m not talking about Luke tho Yoda was made a master at 100 and he is one of the more powerful jedi so mentally at that time he’d be in his late 20s to early 30s so at 70 years old grogu would most likely be in his early 20s so he’d be a jedi knight
I think the theme playing when Grogu and Mando say goodbye, the one that also plays around Grogu and the frog eggs in episodes 10 and 11, could be better described as the theme of “growing up”, or “letting go”. The eggs start out safe and secure, and later Grogu sees one of the frogs leaving the egg and swimming on it’s own. Only fitting it’s heard again when Grogu leaves Mando.
Anyway, my 2 cents. Love your work guys!!
"Turning something into glass" is a reference to nuclear weapons, since actual detonations turn sand into green glass.

I don’t remember where I heard this but the Dark Saber has more power depending on the wielder. It focuses the power the user has and grows stronger depending the hatred and power they have.

@Xeta interesting...
Was this episode the first time the word "terrorist" has been uttered in a Star Wars property??
I wouldn't call hiding Luke's face a "smart move" it was their only option. The CGI was so under-baked. You can see his neck line move! The face reveal took me completely out of the moment which ruined the emotional farewell between the two mains. Nailing down Sebastian Stan was obviously too difficult of a challenge, but they could have found another look alike. This is some of the worst CGI inside one of the best episodes of the entire year. Dark Trooper massacre scene was dope. Love a good hallway fight. 9.5/10
Another detail easy to miss: You can see R2D2 in the X-wing
I loved how during the fight between Koska & Boba you see Koska A.K.A. Sasha Banks hit a wrestling move known as a tornado DDT lol.
Moff Gideon's foresight and intelligence was great. It was very reminiscent of Admiral Thrawn's in Rebels.
Also look at Mando’s reaction when Grogu touched him. It’s probably the first time his face has been touched since he put on his helmet
Notice that when mando uses his flamethrower on the dark trooper it burns of the dark troopers neck piece and giving mando a chance to attack the dark troopers neck
Is it strange that I love the fact that Eric said bulkhead... like thats just the best.
I thought this episode had a very "Battlestar Galactica" feel to it. First of course is Katee Sackhoff, then the Dark Troopers had a Cylons look to them. THEN, the launch tube for the Tie-Fighters was straight form BG. I've never noticed a launch tube for Ties before. Am I mistaken in this thought?

The actor for Nathaniel Malick in AoS was Thomas E. Sullivan, they recasted him for Season 7.
2:41 I thought he was dead, but then I realized that he must be in Bo katan's ship
Anyone else notice how when the Dark Troopers were booting up the sounds they make were the Imperial March?
I always love the skits Eric does with the vessi shoes, always good for a laugh
The CGI Luke looks good imo, but it's a missed opportunity that they didn't cast Sebastian Stan as young Luke and Mark Hamill can do the voiceover.
Now see- I was thinking the opposite. I was thinking it was a little off to allow a little morphing into a different actor on future events. Like casting Sebastian for a series or episode spots down the road. I literally had to look several times to determine if it was Mark or a heavily made up Sebastian.
I like how Erik recognizes that Vessi Shoes keeps sponsoring them every video and he has to say it over and over again lol
I’m so glad someone else noticed Luke doing the same behind the back block as Anakin
'Discovering' the Saber is not the same as taking it. ...that's why Sabine was able to just hand it over.
Seeing Luke was amazing, even if he didn't look great, kinda like Leia from Rogue One. The hair on his forehead and his eyes were what really gave it away. Maybe next time we see him.
I bet, "Don't be afraid!", will be Grogu's reintroduction line when he returns to Mando, maybe even heard before he's seen.
When the first Tie Fighter launches it has a Battlestar Galactica feel with launching their vipers
The force crush was a callback to Ep. 3 when Vader crushed the droid after hearing Padme had died
