When you load your mat push it against the left edge and feed it in straight while holding it. If it goes in crooked the littlest bit it will curve the edges.

I am having the same problems on my mat as you shown in the video with the corners of my mat curling up and mat not feeding in straight. I have not done a machine calibration yet.
Hey Annie, that is strange that the machine is curling the mats. I’m hoping this doesn’t continue. The OG Joy would align the mat but this Xtra doesn’t. If it’s slightly off it will feed it anyways. I hope that this can be a software update fix soon. Keep me posted. 🤓

Ugh that’s so frustrating ! I don’t know what the deal is and why it’s doing that.
It’s your mat because if it’s going round on the corners to me, I think it’s your machine. That’s why it’s bending. Good luck.

It doesn't come with a mat out of the box, correct? Must purchase separately?
I bought the bundle. I do not know for sure if they send you one. It wouldn't fit in the box they send the xtra in, so I would say no. :-)

Difficult to find videos on the long terms cost effectiveness of these machines.
I have all of them. Honestly, I love my maker and the new xtra joy. I feel for space the joy is best but if you have larger projects need you can’t go wrong with the maker plus it’s specialty tools for various fabric materials .
