Ok, this was some great information! I just purchased the Joy and I was wondering could other writing devices be used in it. A gazillion thanks for testing out and sharing these alternative writing devices. Can't wait to use some that I already have! Look forward to learning more about the Joy.
Thanks for this awesome video! I just got my cricut joy and I'm wondering if anyone else has had trouble getting a standard fine point sharpie to fit in their joy. I don't want to force it, but it just doesn't seem to want to slide in. The ultra fine point sharpie seems to fit without an adapter though. Anyone have any ideas?
Great video! It's amazing how people are all worried about effecting their warranty though. How would anyone even know if you used an adapter unless you told them? LOL! It's not like you're unscrewing hardware and replacing parts - THAT'S the stuff that could be questionable for losing your warranty - not adding a silly adapter.
you all probably dont give a damn but does someone know of a way to log back into an Instagram account? I was dumb forgot my login password. I appreciate any tips you can give me!
@Jude Colin I really appreciate your reply. I found the site on google and Im trying it out now. Seems to take quite some time so I will reply here later with my results.
Angie... just got the adapters, thank you for the recommendation, can't wait to start and explore the other pens, however I have been using your hack on the Sharpie fine point to date... AWESOME. Anyone watching this I highly recommend her hacks/recommendations.
Thank you so much for this!! I got a Cricut Joy on Christmas, and along with it, I got the regular Cricut pens. I realized they didn't fit, and I was looking for a video to explain how to make it fit. Thank you!! 👏👏
GREAT VIDEO! I have tons of regular Cricut Pens. When I asked for and got a Cricut Joy XTRA for Christmas it never occurred to me that the pens would be different! I knew someone would have a video about this! THANK YOU!!!!~
Thank you for this video!!! I’m slowly getting rid of my fear of using the Cricut joy! It’s amazing how I will be able to use some of my different pens!🥰 I wouldn’t put the Tombow brush pen...it’s a delicate tip for lettering, and it needs to be at an angle or else the tip will get ruined. Maybe only the fine tip will be fine.😊💗
I just found your video and it is amazing! I started writing with the Joy but get lots of spots where the Joy starts and stops. Do you know if it is because of the pen or the font I selected?
Thanks for the awesome video! I had actually purchased some adapters from this shop a few months and was afraid to use them because they're tight fit. However, I push up a little on the bottom of the holder when I insert the pen/adapter and it works great. I especially love that I can use my Maker pens. :)
I tried the fine tip sharpie marker, and extra fine paint marker in my cricut joy and they wouldn't fit. They were too fat and I didn't want to force it. I also tried it on the Pilot "easy touch" pen and it worked! So I am happy. The marker that came with my cricut joy ran out after using it ONE time! I was so disappointed and didn't want to waste more money buying more if they were going to run out so fast.
Hello! I love your videos. You are a great teacher! what font did you use for the example? Is there a way to share a photo of your examples. I love keeping examples printed! Thank you!
Hi Angie, thanks so much for your helpful video🙏! I am looking to purchase the Circut Joy to make personilsed gift tags for my customers. Because these are personalised I would only need to print one gift tag at one time instead of a whole sheet, am I able to do this on this machine? Also, would I be able to use already cut gift tags for the Cricut Joy to print on? Thank you! ❤😊
You can't do print then cut with the Cricut Joy. The new Cricut Joy Xtra does do print then cut. So, you could ONLY write the gift tag and cut it out with this machine. It can do one at a time. Using already cut gift tags and writing on them is REALLY tricky as they are hard to line up. It is possible however.
@@AngieHolden Is okay lovely I found a set that claims to be okay, from Amazon Australia - haven't tested it yet but I will do. Keep up your wonderful work young lady, you're an inspiration and a joy to watch and learn from.
I recently found your channel and love all your videos! You have inspired me so much that I purchased a cricut joy. Your tutorials are so clear and precise that I understand and can follow so thank you very much!
I don't see the Cricut Joy adapter like you are using at the link for the website. I bought some other adapters, but can't get them to work. I realize this was done almost 2 years ago. Do they still sell the adapter for the Cricket Joy to use the Cricket Air Express Pens.
Just FYI there are 2 kinds of Crayola Pip Squeakers - the original is fatter and can NOT fit. The link you have is for the SKINNIES. You may want to edit the description.
Hi Angie, thank you for the video. Does using different pens change the draw and cut dimensions? We tried making stickers on the cricut joy using a sharpie and the cut lines didn’t line up.
Just tried this with an old Bic Mark it fine point marker. I didn’t need an adapter. I marked it in comparison to my Cricut Joy pen and it worked! Thanks!

For stickers, I would get the Explore or Maker. Boxes as well will be too large to make on the Joy. For the plaque idea, perhaps etched metal would work? For that would you need the Maker or Maker 3.
Thanks for making this video, I love my sharpies and tried them out. I found that I need to twist them in gently so they can go in. They fit tightly and I don't want to break my Joy. Is this normal? I have seen this video several times and don't see you struggling with the regular size sharpie. Thanks again.

Just came from your most recent video on pens in the explore and maker. Does the Pencil grip hack work with the joy like it does with the other 2 machines??

Hi what setting do you need in design space when using a crayola super tip? Would it be 0.8mm or bigger? Thanks so much for the video x
I just pick a marker. Those settings are just for you to ensure you put the right one in the machine.
Love how organized and clear this tutorial is. Really appreciate the attention to details.

Yep you can definitely just do that!
Does the Crayola SuperTip look more like a Cricut 1mm marker? Guessing not 8mm gel? Or would it compare to a larger Cricut marker?
Sorry not sure.
I’m so happy I can use the sublimation markers in my Joy!! Thanks for this great video. 👍🏻
Hi Angie,
The adapter company has closed on Etsy. Do you have any ther recommendations? Thanks
Sorry this is the only one I have used.
I just found your video and it is amazing! I started writing with the Joy but get lots of spots where the Joy starts and stops. Do you know if it is because of the pen or the font I selected?
That is an issue. You can try different pens.
Anyone know if there is an existing adapter works for KingArt Fine Liner pens or dual tip brush markers?
Sorry I have not used those!

I accidently ordered Cricut Joy pens, I have the Maker. How can I use these pens in my Maker?

Holy chimi changas, so does it mean if my pens are wobbly, I will need a pen adapter? I'm new to Cricut it self
You might!
The adapter affiliate link takes us to a business that’s taking a break. If anyone has any ideas on where to buy adapters? Thanks!
Sorry these are the only ones I have used and I don't link to products I have not personally used.
What paper/label do you use for the coloured pens? Great Video, thank you.
You can use any paper. If you want a label, it needs to be something you can write on.
Thank you, I have recently purchased a Cricut Joy and your channel has been very helpful. I just subscribed.
Awesome! Thank you!
I bought my Joy second hand and they didn't give me the pen it came with...is there another way to figure out where to put the line?
Not that I know of.
Is it okay that you need some pressure to push the pens in or are they suppose to all just drop in? Don't want to break my machine.
Most just drop into place? Maybe a little pressure?
can you write on any size paper?
for example escort cards for a wedding
Sure! You might unfold and put on the mat.
The Etsy shop for the adapters that you use have closed. Any other suggestions on where to buy these?
Those are the only ones I have used. You can purchase from another shop instead but I only link to ones I have used.
Do the cricut glitter gel pens work with the cricut adaptor please for the joy
They should.
Great info thanks. I only have black for the Joy but several for the Air 2. So I’m happy. Looking for glitter pens that work.✍🏻
