the final animation is so good...brilliantly captures the intensity of our boys' rivalry, blending fluid motion with sharp cuts that enhance the urgency of the matches. we were both so hyped!!!
AND it balances moments of high-stakes competition with quieter, introspective scenes...so emotional that I can't stop crying ( absolutely love the song) making it a powerful exploration of friendship and rivalry...I feel very happy and gratified for everyone’s life journey😭

Incredible reaction series of a masterpiece. Probably my favorite on RUclips.
I think where everyone ends up makes a lot of sense. Only Peco and Kong had mindsets that would result in long term competitiveness. Koizumi wanted Smile to experience real competitiveness, but at the end of the day, that's not really who he is (it's just what Koizumi wanted for himself). Obaba actually knew him the best and saw this from the very beginning.
Another critically loved and very well written series by this show creator that you might consider is "Tatami Galaxy". It's done in the same 20 minute, 11 episode format and is equally unique. It might be harder to watch because it's more strange and they talk super fast, but it's very good if you can get into the right headspace for it.
The Manga creator, Taiyo Matsumoto is also one of the best.
Also, characterizing the girl reactor as being represented by the sea guy is hilarious and perfect.

The author of "Ping Pong", Taiyo Matsumoto, is one of my favorite manga artists. I recommend "TEKKON KINKREET BLACK & WHITE". In Japan, it was made into an anime and a live-action film.
