Surprised that nobody has mentioned this before. The boys are fraternal twins, as mentioned in episode 1, not identical twins. That means that they came from two separate fertilized eggs. Their DNA differs a little, just like siblings born at different times. The father's DNA may be more dominate in one and the mother's more dominate in the other. Identical twins develop from a single egg and the DNA is identical. So, since the boys are fraternal twins, it is logical that they would not both have identical powers, or that one may end up having no powers at all. That is how human physiology works. All bets are off when you add in alien DNA.

Something small and quick that gives us an indication that we might be on Earth Prime, but also a call back to the first couple of episodes of Supergirl.
Good episode imo. I think the family dynamics still seem to be done well imo (I’m always cautious about the teen stuff but it seems relatively well done and compelling so far for the most part). Not only did Crisis make Morgan Edge a different actor but it made him British too lol...I actually was engaged in Lois’s investigation into him and am looking forward to him being her nemesis for the season like “Captain Luthor” is for Clark. The Captain Luthor stuff is really intriguing me...he was a soldier that blames his version of Superman who was evil for destroying his planet as was as killing his fellow soldiers , one of which was Sam Lane. I wonder what happened because they seemed to have the “S” symbol on his dog tags which makes me think that his Superman was originally a hero and worked with them but something happened that made him break (possibly the death of his family?). Anyway , if I had one negative about the episode...it’s that I’m not feeling Angus McFadyen’s Jor-El right now but maybe that could change in the future.
The most interesting stuff is the Luthor backstory for me so far. I agree with the casting for Jor-El, he's a really good actor but doesn't fit this role. You need someone like Russel Crowe, Terrence Stamp and Marlon Brando as Jor-El. He doesn't feel majestic or charismatic enough, plus his voice doesn't pull me in.
Think about it like this... Both boys have powers but only if they’re together. Apart they’re technically useless. They’re the Wonder Twins! Apart nothing happens. Together.... ACTIVATE!!!!
I feel like the twins need each other to make their powers work, but they will have some thing in the fortress where they both get Gene mods to to be able to access all of their powers separately.
Luthor says Kal-El is a villain who will destroy Earth in the future but to escape, Luthor exploits the fact, known to him, that Superman will save people at the expense of his own safety. If Superman is good today but will *become* evil why hate him today? Killing him? Sure, that could make sense if you're that certain of the future. If I went back in time would I kill baby Hitler? Maybe. But I wouldnt burn him with cigarettes or shake him and yell "You suck baby Hitler! I hate you!" That would be insane. Luthor obviously knows Superman is good today but still abuses and tortures him and demands he feel guilty for things he has never done. Conclusion: this Luthor is, like most Luthors, a very bad person.
He probably assumes that superman WILL turn evil just like he did on his earth. From what I can tell I think his earth’s superman went through something akin to injustice’s superman and went bad. Captain Luthor assumes the same is inevitable for this earth’s superman and, likely due to his own failings on his earth, has taken an ends justify the means approach. He will kill whoever he needs to in order to prevent superman from killing everyone on earth. And it doesn’t matter to him if superman is good now, he thinks he’ll always end up turning bad later. Taking advantage of his current goodness is simply another way to help ensure his victory.
In the comics, Project 7734 is a US military project to protect Earth from alien incursions; particularly aliens with Superman level powers. The comic storylines show Superman restoring the bottled city of Kandor to its original size on Earth, near the proximity of the Fortress. Sam Lane distrusts the newly established Kryptonian population on Earth, and results in using the project to launch a preemptive strike against Kandor. Lane also springs and recruits Luthor and uses him for his scientific genius to develop weapons to combat the Kyrptonians. How the show runners are going to spin this, I have no idea
I mean where have we really seen it? Injustice. And Snyder never made it to that story he wanted to do. This could potentially be the first time we actually see live action evil superman. Its just something that gets talked about a lot.

Yeah, I noticed that too. So my guess is that this Lex is from that Earth (I think that was Earth X). I can't wait for more flashbacks.
Yes, Jor-El is Robert the Bruce
Think about it like this... Both boys have powers but only if they’re together. Apart they’re technically useless. They’re the Wonder Twins! Apart nothing happens. Together.... ACTIVATE!!!!
i’m watching along with you guys and i’m digging this
been waiting for this, thanks for the reaction
Eric and his passion for BBQ is but one of 1,000,000 reasons why i love Blind Wave
your camera quality has come a long way crew blind wave 🙏🏽
"Isn't it Infinity Aaron" Talking about Superman Strength
Man Death Battle still triggers me today from Goku vs Superman
Jor-El was Robert The Bruce in Braveheart
he's not a 'Good guy Luthor', He's more like the 'Doom Guy Luthor'
I feel like the twins need each other to make their powers work, but they will have some thing in the fortress where they both get Gene mods to to be able to access all of their powers separately.
Wonder Twins unite!! form of brotherly love.
they took so much inspiration from MoS I love it
Luthor says Kal-El is a villain who will destroy Earth in the future but to escape, Luthor exploits the fact, known to him, that Superman will save people at the expense of his own safety.
Maybe Alexander Luther... Setting up Infinite Crisis?
In the comics, Project 7734 is a US military project to protect Earth from alien incursions; particularly aliens with Superman level powers. The comic storylines show Superman restoring the bottled city of Kandor to its original size on Earth, near the proximity of the Fortress. Sam Lane distrusts the newly established Kryptonian population on Earth, and results in using the project to launch a preemptive strike against Kandor. Lane also springs and recruits Luthor and uses him for his scientific genius to develop weapons to combat the Kyrptonians. How the show runners are going to spin this, I have no idea
To quote the old man on the bench with the dwarf from Family Guy "WHERES THE REST OF YA?"
That's why Jonathan wasn't playing football good at practice cuz Jordan wasn't at school with him
Earth 1 renamed as Earth Prime, a good lex travelling the multiverse......
im calling it now, next cross over is Justice Lords vs Justice League
Am I the only one who's getting tired of Evil Superman?
I mean it’s been multiple times so I guess U right
I mean where have we really seen it? Injustice. And Snyder never made it to that story he wanted to do. This could potentially be the first time we actually see live action evil superman. Its just something that gets talked about a lot.
What happens when someone with superman's powers is unstable? Brightburn. That's what happens.
I just watched ep 3, and i wanna run to jordans aid and talk about how he embodies that super emotional side of Clark without the levelheaded parts especially when clark becomes superman. Johnathan is more of the level headed role with punches do myself Lois and superman mix. I thought that was interesting
been looking for this all day. im so obsessed with the show that i just need to rewatch it through other people's eyes ahahha help
I dont want this to cross over with the Arrowverse at all. It's so far removed from the Superman we saw before in Supergirl- and i'm happy that the quality is better than anything Supergirl did.
A crossover won't ruin the show.
A crossover doesn’t ruin a quality
@@Laurica-lb6nv It does if you've never seen Arrow, Flash, or Supergirl. I liked that this show was a fresh start to the Superman mythos. I don't want to have to catch up on 10 years of bad CW shows to know what's happening in this one.
@@blueskybelyr oh I see what you mean like seeing the show in a different quality in the other show
I appreciate the righteous outrage at Jonathan turning down barbecue lol
Thunder, Lightning and Superboys team-up
BBQ part had me laughing man “stfu”
It would be awesome if the boys were only able to use their powers with each other and if because of how different they are they help balance each other out.
I’m thinking this is the backstory of the post crisis world before superman regains his memory of crisis.
I don't get how Kara was supposed to be at the funeral.
Like Melissa is busy filming with her show.
And before that it was still covid restrictions.
Still is now tbh.
As Superman was mentioned many times in the pilot and S1.
Because he's important for the SERIES introduction.
I mean damn half the people didn't even know who the hell Supergirl is.
If it wasn't for all the AM stuff, I got to believe the reporter would be named Chloe. Damn reality.
Gotham please
Only people I know that can start talking about the fortress of solitude, and end the conversation with Ewoks.
Don’t you think the military would have made anti-superman weapons by now 🤔
Jor-el character I believe is main villain in Chuck season 5!!
Last cobra Kai episode reaction coming tomorrow ?? 🤣 been waiting my guys
Same bro.
Great start to the show, wonderful production value, Good writing and acting. My only gripe and it’s a small one, is that the villain is Luther again. Maybe they could have done a lesser known villain.
Love this show! It is a shock how good it is since I'm not a fan of anything cw...but DAMN!!
Possibly the Luthor in this is from the future??
Angus Macfadyen who played Robert the Bruce in Braveheart and also the movie Robert the Bruce in 2019 is playing Jor El.
Hey Aaron, what's 1 100th of infinity lol 🤣
Wish hbo max would up the flash budget
Whoa hold up I didn't even think about the fact that Jordan has only shown powers when he's near Jonathan... holy crap!
Chrissy Beppo?
Beppo is the name of Super-Monkey in the comics.
Angus was also in a couple Saw movies.. that's how I recognized him.
Erik is right, i would be happy too, just watching the kents being wholesome.
I wonder if he's from Earth-15. That was the earth that Superman had completely destroyed and where Cisco had vibed Neil Borman, aka Fallout because it was completely uninhabited. That was before Crisis.
Robert the Bruce is the father of Superman... confirmed!
Now in my head canon.
Holy shit, Superman's dad is Robert Rogers.
The show is going on a two-month hiatus after episode 5 due to COVID. The first 7 episodes of Supergirl's final season will air in it's place.
Very cool seeing Jor-El. Clark wasn't telling the boys to behave he was talking to Lois haha. Ohman evil Superman. Captain Luther might try to recruit Sam Lane. Having 13 episodes and this budget is best.
