Hello, excellent video. I use three towers at the front instead of a horizontal center channel. It means all 3 speakers tweeters and bass ports line up perfectly and in perfect phase. I think It creates a much more enveloping front soundstage...I like it alot!
I remember seeing this vid a couple years ago, never thought I'd have the budget, now klipsch is giving this sub on promo, had to watch again and seriously think about it
For music listening application, Klipsch Sub is very musical since there is not much information under 35/40Hz. For Home Theater application is another matter.
He doesn't have neighbors. Theres a restaurant below him and his walls are concrete. He only tests subs when the restaurant is closed. He probably smashes their dishes though.
Cat on top. The submeower! It plays nice and deep. 21:05 that third tower is probably included if somebody decides to use it as a center speaker. Don't worry, if my toddler visited he'd inspect every detail.
I have 2 of those and then 2 Velodyne 12s in the back of my Theater . That part of EOT almost makes me ill from the air pressure. These are GREAT subs for the price!
Do you also own a cinema?? How many subs do you need man? I guess I never got the more than 2 subs thing because my room is tiny. I used to have 2 8" subs and they would pressurize the whole room. I thought those were loud until I got a PB-1000. That thing is insane. In my tiny room I can hear stuff shaking at the 10hz tone in Edge of Tomorrow. Way overkill. But the sound quality is so good I can't find another sub that goes as low and sounds as good, but isn't as loud. I feel like I'm not using it properly because I have to keep it at like 2/5 volume.
I'm curious where you got your specs for the SPL-150SW. According to Klipsch the specs are identical to the R-115SW it replaces. This includes the power 400w RMS/800w Peak and weight 75.4 lbs. I find it interesting that you require the gain set at around 2 o'clock for music. My R-115SW is in a large 15' x 20' room and properly calibrated the gain is set just past 9 o'clock, or about 20%. I have a 7.2.4 all Klipsch Reference Premier setup. BTW, I initially had only one R-115SW and the gain was at the same setting then. For movies the same gain setting rocks the entire house. This sub is a beast. BTW, this is the first home recorded RUclips video that had audio worthy of my setup. I could actually hear the sub fully. Nice job on the recording.
ZEOS, quit lowering the volume man. Gone are the days when you would try to get the police to come and shine the light at your apartment or blow giant green balls across the floor or rattle the bottles on your table ......so sad.
Hey people check out the R-115sw. It's the older brother to this one with a better damped heavier box but same driver. The amps were kind of sucky but Klipsch replaced them with better amps for free. You can find them B-Stock from certified dealers for about 350-400.

Hey Z. I’m curious what you think of the SPL-120? I have two of the low end reference 10” subs and they kind of suck. Lots of port noise and not really that great of output. I’m thinking of selling them and getting a single SPL-120. It’s pretty much the same price as an SVS PB-2000 though. I trust your opinion. I’m using all Klipsch reference and want to make the climb up to the RP line. Any advice would be groovy. Thanks!
Was debating on getting this or a svs 3000. Went with the svs because of the better warranty and customer service. Very happy with the deep bass for such a small sub. Btw I bought it from World Wide Stereo!
also check OBLIVION movie, when tom cruise falls from the rope. theres an incledible tone drop to subsonic great for testing subs...and your room rattling as crazy.. like the one in the fifth element movie. epic bass moments.
Edge of tomorrow goes 30Hz, 25Hz, 20Hz, then 15 then 10, 10Hz has a harmonic at 30Hz, strange they'd put 10Hz tone though, most ported subs tap out at 16, that's almost a whole octave lower
