BluMaan Do you recommend a keratin treatment? My hair is as thick as yours but is very wavy and it splits apart after like 2 hours when having my quiff?
A nice tip if you have longer hair wash your hair with your back to the shower head and mold your hair back it will slowly make it easier to style for hair styles that involve combing hair back.
Having thick hair sounds great on paper but in reality it's the worst. There's literally only one hairstyle that works without looking stupid and it just becomes a bush after a few weeks
Don't shampoo it so often. Feel the oil, pay attention to your natural oiliness and keep it a good medium. Usually the day after I shampoo mine is dry and thinner but poofy
I’ve had super thick, long and lustrous hair all my life and cut it short a few years ago. The struggle is different and I appreciate this video. Great advise - thank you!!
I have very thick hair, and clay or gel just makes my hair look hard and gross, so what i found out is that you have to comb your hair while after getting out of the shower, blow drying it also helps, and then i use hold 5 hairspray and it looks good. Depending on the way it was cut also really determines how its gonna look like. I also trim it to maintain the same look.
L Flow Tighten your sides maybe a little higher and use a blow dryer when you style your hair I do it after I shower just style with the hair dryer go the opposite way for volume and/or blow dry you hair by bending over so your head is upside down and blow dry your hair with cold air move it around and it should add volume
I hated my thick hair in my youth and had it ALWAYS cropped short or a buzz cut. But back then in the 1990s, it was the fashion to either have very long hair or buzzed. Now I’ve learnt to love it and have a good barber who listens to me when I say “ tidy the sides and the neck but minimal trim of the top with some thinning.” Thanks for the products and shampoo tips.
You should be glad because people like us with thick hair wont be going bald like most men out there. Ye as a teen their thin hair is easier to style but they'll lose it anyway so it's fine.
Hair thinning is a big one! I've always found products to work even better in my hair after having it slightly thinned out. Nice video Joe, some v helpful tips I can vouch for as someone with thick hair 👍🏻
Luca Santangelo no shit, i dont even know why this was mentioned, what barber doesn't thin the hair out??? Its a standard part of a haircut... unless u specify u want it thick the barber will thin it out as he is cutting or after he is done cutting.
The video explained how if your hair is thick then it tenes to stand up rather than lay down. If you thin out your hair you'll tend to have poofy hair sense the smaller ones will be pushing your longer hairs up?
I've find a way to make my thick straight hairs look like flat and normal hair, simply use a beanie while there are still wet and let them dry in it, it will keep the form you wanted
BluMaans hair clay is amazing. Using that alone is a hack. Takes time getting used to the application but once you figure that out it is so easy to sculpt and looks great until you wash it out.
I remember I used to try so hard to style my hair like you, but when my hair reaches a certain length and it starts to curl and wavy. So now I just grow the top out 🤦🏽♂️
You guys are blessed with good hair so you can style properly. I have thick as well as thin hair what i mean is that my individual hair particles are more in diameter but actually my hair density is less , coz my individual hair particles are more in diameter it makes the illusion that my hair is thick but its actually not. Problem not ends hair my hair is extremely dry and i have got dandruff. OMG i hate my hair so much its very difficult to syle everytime i try to syle after sometimes it falls flat 😭
I think I’m your twin. I have thick hair follicles (like you can see them and feel them clearly) but my actual amount of hair is sparse. I have to use a ton of product to get my hair to stay and as soon as I touch it it falls flat. I have no idea what to do
i have super super super thick hair thats dense and curly and i just got my jar of cavalier and im loving it so far helps manage the poof plus that super skinny serum helps a tone too
I've got really thick hair and I think it's worth noting that using cavalier gets you amazing texture and hold, but if you want you hair to have that texture but still be able to play with it, or for it to seem a little more natural, o recommend using the smoothing serum before blowdrying, then finishing with the hybrid clay 👌👌
i had hair down to my waist but I shaved my head a couple months ago and honestly I just look like a pineapple, thanks man for making this video, super helpful
Ye my hairs very thick and although I know it's a good thing it can still be annoying to manage and I'm still learning so this vid helps alot tbh. Honestly wish I could just hire this guy to manage my hair though.
Joe…Joe….buy thinning shears-trust me Joe;) I have the same problem-two weeks after a cut my crown gets WAY too thick. I own ‘chunking’ and standard ‘blending’ thinning shears. It’s easy to do at home. I’m using Kasho series scissors-they’re kinda pricey ( psst…I steal those from my dad --don’t tell). Most home line (Equinox or Ben-air) scissors will do nicely. Good video Joe!
Thank you this is helpful for me. I came to your channel because of your comment in Peter McKinnon’s video “The Bowl” in Kenya. My wife is from Zimbabwe so I visit Zim and travel through Kenya when we go there.
I have thick hair, when short its spiky. I had long hair and it lays out and I could style it. But i went to the military and cut it. Now I have hair that stands up.
Thick and coarse hair is my hair type And hard to keep from being fluffy after showering and i take showers at night unless I'm at a family house just because 5 kids use up all the hot water at night.
The Redken Cleansing Cream is good stuff. I use it about once a week and it works great! Color safe too, and can actually even help to elevate or lighten colored hair a touch.
thicker hairs r hard to manage when i am growing them, so can u put up a video on which cutting style should a medium size thicker hair person should have
Joe, I have thick hair. Here's my routine post-shower. I start wet with BluMann Meraki, blowdry into place. Then, once totally dry, add BluMann Cavalier Clay (let sit for 10-15 min). Then move it around in place. Done. Where and when should I be using the thinning serum? Thanks!
My hair is so thick but I have to get it cut as short as possible without looking bald because I ride a motorcyle to work everyday and long hair + helmet = "just woke up with a hangover" look

Thank you for this. I have extremely thick straight hair which I recently had cut in short layers. (I need to change my avatar here, I can see). For hair like mine, the men's info seems more pertinent.
I’m a white guy , and when I was at my barbers , they said I had hair like a black man because of how thick it was , it’s a real problem and idk what to do 😂 it’s just way too thick and dry , whenever I put a product in it feels so uncomfortable on my head , almost like a brick is just plonked on there , it’s just so not healthy and I don’t know what to do
ARGANLife Anti Hairr Loss Shampoo is amazing! Even with short term use there is a visable difference in growth as well as added moisture. My hair feels great after applying. I would definitely recommend if you're looking for a boost.

I'm mexican and my hair is real thick and curly I get it from my dad's side of the family and some of my mother's. My dad shaves his hair though but he would have hair like me if he did have hair. My hair gets real poofy when I wash it.
While i was getting a haircut, there was a girl with hair down to her shoulders next to me. We both got hair cut to pretty much the same length but I had way more hair on the floor than she did. I don’t understand. My hair barely touches my neck.
I have good curly thining hair but I use Muk hard muk it says its styling pomade but it’s a paste/clay/mud and with it it just makes it look straight watever I do so ye SHOULD TRY IT
So you say wash your hair at most 2-3x a week, then you say use the deep cleaning once, then alternate between using our regular shampoo and the one you suggested us. How many times are we washing our hair w the 3 different shampoos?!
The haircut part was so true. When my hair is too short it sticks out straight.... opposite of me. It’s really puffy. And not only do I have thick hair I have a lot. Help! When I had long hair it was too frizzy and puffy it annoyed me so much.
Just tell your barber to thin out your hairs, they use thinning shears to thin out your thiker hairs, i also have lot of hairs and after thinning out I feel very light on my head and its easy to manage
Cool channel. I have very thick hair. Its poofey. Afro like. Any tips on how to find a good hair stylist that can do these new fashion haircuts. What to look for in a hairstylist?
Me watching this because I had really nice, thick long hair (Like almost shoulder length) and my hairdresser cut it a lot shorter than I wanted it so I now have to find a new style while I wait for it to grow back out...
on the sides my hair grows almost perfectly horizontal.....no lay down at all........... not even after 1 month. I need to go to the saloon one time/week. :(
I don't know if I would consider my hair thick or not, my hair is coarse but the individual strands are thin it is also very dry and gets frizzy. I have been using the same hair gel for at least 8 years now which is likely why my hair is damaged. I never cared much about my hair up until a few days ago but then I've never really been happy with it either, I'm trying to figure out what type of hair products I should be using. Great videos! I will be buying Cavalier next. I have thick hair and I currently use moose as a prestyler and a redken paste as a finisher but I am lacking some vertical hold. I may also try that serum. When and how do I apply the serum in my routine?
sorry about the focus in this one guys! there was a focus button I forgot to press on the camera -_-
Good reply to robin james,blumaan
BluMaan Do you recommend a keratin treatment? My hair is as thick as yours but is very wavy and it splits apart after like 2 hours when having my quiff?
BluMaan i didn't see any problem with the focus?
Hard to find it...😄
video's substance was too good to notice the focus issue!!!
I got afro latino hair if that makes sense its like broom hair literally
I have thick straight hair, it’s like having Grass on my head
I have like a badass thick head of hair, but it so hard to style. Basically I just let it so it's own thing. It always looks dope.
Danny Hoffa literally me too it’s like goat hair
