Building and buying them a house is no guaranteed for success. After your demise, they start taking loans out using the property as collateral either to Banks or local loansharks. Those homes are easily lost.🥴🥴 These girls survived before you they will survive after you.
Maaaaate, it ain’t about nothing more than this bloke wants to give his girl a great life after he is brown bread. He’s not thinking about anyone ripping him off
What do you guys think about a guy who's been selfless most of his life and realizes he's now a empty, lonely soul. Am I entitled to become selfish and strive to have peace. The way I see it is unless I reverse my life and position myself to where I can again be selfless but be selfish in order to reach that point again. Vague question but I'm sure you get the gest.
I'm not an expat but I always watch all your videos. Thank you Paul for your kindness, care, and showing your positive views about my fellow Filipinos. You're doing the right thing Paul. We have a saying in tagalog "kung anong itinanim mo, sya ring aanihin mo". It means if you did good deeds, people will do the same to you. And indeed, you are doing good deeds for Mae and your co-expats there so I am sure, you'll be blessed more. Keep it up Paul. Salamat.
If you love someone you prepare for their future. If you live for today and have no regard for her when you are gone then you really are only loving yourself.
RIP Jueles; a lesson for all of us...watching his videos from a year ago he was full of energy and plans for the future; how quickly and unexpectedly things can take a turn for the worse in life.
Juells was a Great man as he Loved his family and left them with lots of friends and support. I also hope Monty finds a way to get his stents for his heart so he and Aragel and their wonderful daughter can continue living a nice life in the small house he built on her families property. Blessed to have met him and know him and some of the others. I am a newbie after visiting several times moving in July to Duma 3/4 of the year as i deal with business and properties in USA so instead of traveling there and living in uS in one month i will live there and travel to us a complete flip and much better life awaits me i pray and hope for. Health insurance is not something i will take for granted as what happened to Juells is perfect example as he thought because he was still young all was good. Well life is unpredictable and must look at ALL scenarios as you never know what can happen.
What"s everyone's thoughts about canceling ones Medi Care due to not ever wanting to return. I've just been notified that they are going to take out even more than they already do. Currently I have no underlying conditions and feel I can self insure for any emergencies here. Another bump is that if they find out that I'm residing here for more than 6 months they will suspend my benefits. I'm told that I must depart the PI.
My friend Paul ….. when you are responsible for making the world a better place by helping someone less fortunate…..Enjoy the beauty of the occasion…give thanks for that opportunity and rejoice. You are a good good man. You’re Santander Talisay friend . Keep up the good work 😊
Hi Paul, I don’t comment on channels but I have to say this you are the best person I have seen on you tube on everything Phillipines. Your attitude and positive ways and the help I have seen you give to others especially the last video for your dear friend Jewels. A very hard one to make. I m sure that anyone who watches you and Baby May have so much respect for you both. Hopefully I get to meet you in person one day
Great job Paul ! being humble and living below your means is an awesome way to live along with kindness to others. Keep the vids coming and I look forward to hopefully seeing you in person in March
I am 70 and Wife is 68, been here 2 years now... when in states we build a house on her parents land, have wifi, aircon, big screen TV, running water to house, buy a new car, and now been here 2 years and living comfortable on $1000 a month with my 13A, and PhilHealth ... my Wife will be very comfortable when I die ...❤❤❤
Excellent video. Something some don't think of, at least over there. I'm doing my best to take care of her over here, while preparing to help her over there. I've set up a file with all the information she might need, the who, what, when, where and why file. I help her family as best I can, and help my son when I can. You make great videos that have something some others don't - common sense. Thanks Paul
I watched you just fewer weeks ago. Thank you for being there. I have been a married Pilipina for 36 years. My husband passed 10 year's ago. I am happy went back and forth Philippines and USA vacation. Bought my house in subdivision in Mactan Lapu-Lapu city Cebu. Pension and retirement is what I live for. Happy happy at this time I am in Florida with my only daughter. Philippines is my destination someday.
My then fiance was barely surviving. Sure, she had a home, but being widowed was making it very hard. I did the fiance visa. She was here in the US after 9 months. She started working one year later. Now, she earns the equivalent of 3 million pesos per year working alongside me in a federal government job. She brought three kids into the marriage. One is in dental school, one is an engineer and the youngest is a nurse
Excellent video Paul. When starting a relationship, one should consider the future of their significant other once they pass. Thanks for sharing and blessings to you and Mae.
First off, my sincerest condolences on the passing of Jueles. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family at this difficult time. The light of heaven to him
Well said. It’s something I think about a lot. Especially after visiting the Philippines. I’m so happy that you are sharing your experiences and plans. The good, the bad, and the struggles. Salamat po. Prayers of wisdom.
Been watching you for several years Sir. I have been traveling to SE Asia for 20 plus years and after years of being a butterfly I settled down with an amazing Cambodia girl . I have purchased a home for us in Cambodia and USA and prepared for her future without me. You are spot on with your advice. It is so important that us age gap relationship men remember do our best to take care of our ladies even after we are gone. I have always respected your ability to remain so level headed. Condolences reference the passing of your friend Julles also.
Marami salamat for all your comments. I'm planning to move to roxas city in a few yrs. We bought a camela home in roxas. I watch your channel faithfully. Hope to meet you on one our winter breaks from usa
Paul finally someone doing the right thing and doing this video Thank you- 100 videos about scammers but this is the first one that I have seen about the man not doing his part. Many of these women have given these men their most valuable asset- their youth. The man is absolutely obligated to provide for her on his death-thank you again
I will say honestly, Paul that I look forward to leaving a happy family behind me when I pass. I tried to do that twice in America, and unfortunately failed now that I have my Filipina and soon to be Asawa , I feel that I can reach the ultimate goal in my life by changing someone else’s life for the better.
Hello Paul, its really ok what you do! You make a sure future for your love! And its ok what you do! She is in love with you! And she give you a gud life time. Why you can not do that for you!? Its ok. She give you much love and what you need. Love is like a business- you give her what is important,- and she give you what she can do. So its ok!!!
Yeah the one thing I'm NOT going to do in the PH is take on debt, but then I'll go out there with a bit of money in the bank and just for myself, 3+ grand/mo. I say for myself because the wife will also get SS when she hits retirement age and she makes good money and about 28 years of working in the US before we leave to the PH. So she'll have a chunk of change once she starts of SS, along with a home paid for and solar panels to run the home and different agricultural functions. I've thought about a vehicle, but the only way I take that on is if production on land (agriculture) warrants a truck. There are other ways of getting things around and even motorcycles are used to do this (think tricycle but has a sidecar that's made for hauling stuff). With first building a home, which also means it's paid for as it's built it means there's no rent payment to live in a good home. I figure that cuts expenses down to about one grand/mo. Once solar is installed that gets us down to about $800/mo. The property already produces a certain amount of food. And this isn't in the city which is both good and bad. It's good because SOME costs are less. It's bad because for everyday items other than food that doesn't have to be brought in, that stuff is more expensive unless you make trips to cities and do a lot of buying. People tend to buy things in small quantities, as in daily rations and that's very expensive.
Was my concern also. We were able to pick up some fixer uppers rentals so that there would always be an income after I check out. Mama an daughter won't live rich but not worry about homeless.
Buyer's beware! There are ruthless people all over the world and the PI is no exception. Not all are welcoming, friendly people. There's a certain element that are opposite of what expats, tourism asserts. Many times a expat is worth more dead then alive. You must remember that the end game is just security and to survive. Keep your head on a swivel.
Thanks Paul for all the great videos... Yes I agree you should leave her with security of a home and and some kind of monthly income 😊 Hi Mae & Yippee and Tada❤
Sorry to hear about juelles I enjoyed watching his show Expats are dropping like flys in Philippines, old dog will be last man standing I will send juelles money PayPal to help family
Paul, when I first came to the Philippines to live, back 12 years ago, I knew from the previous visits here, that to fit in I was to look like I was not rich, even though the locals still think I am regardless. I bought an old car to get around, I didn’t stand out when I was going about my business. Now 12 years later, I have learned it’s more prevalent than ever before. Two things I have learned about all else to fit in as a foreigner in the Philippines . Live simplistically and respectfully. Saving face here is a huge deal. Sorry Paul I know I am off topic, but I had to mention this.
I disagree. My wife is well-educated, but the Philippines was unable to provide her with the opportunities her education should ordinarily allow her. We met overseas. I am rich, having made my money in HK. We now live in the Philippines with our family. We are wealthy. We are around the same age. We have our own business, owning a number of residential and commercial properties and making a decent income, with cash in the bank. We have no debt. I am actually one of the 'best and the brightest' expats -. I am highly educated, to doctorate level, our kids are at school/university, and they have a guaranteed income even after we are gone. If I died tomorrow, my missus would be sorted (maybe I should check out the hit-man listings in the small ads).
Thank you, Paul. We all can learn something from this video. I don't live in PHILIPPINES .I am very good at keeping low profile. I am good at saving money. I don't wear expensive watches or jewelry. I wear clothing and shoes with no brand name on them. I look poor.🤣🤣😂😂 I have seen young people driving different cars and trying to show off their rental cars. A lot of young people try to look rich until they maxed out their credit's cards. Why do some people want to look successful to outside world? Why do some people care what other people think of them?
What the Filipina would more than likely do, rather than going back to living with mom and dad, is what she has already done, and that is to find another foreigner to support her.
Not really as my Filipina is a wdiow who didn't date after losing her husband and then all of a sudden she met a foreigner But he left her in shame for his ex-girlfriend and thus for 5 years she hid in utter shame. So when she met me I had to go really slow as she was SO afraid it would happen again. Once i felt her family realized i wasn't going Anywhere is when she really opened up and fell in love with me but it was a journey. She didn't share me with her friends till she knew i wasn't leaving. I do my best for my health and future as I know that she will be much older when i pass so she will probably be alone and not date. One Must be Situationally Aware of the other person and the culture. I hope to grow old with her just like her parents. I am grateful to have such a good relationship with a Good family.
Actually, many of them never enter another relationship. Many of them just stay a solitary widow because they actually love their foreigner husband, and still consider themselves married, and remain faithful because they can't imagine being with anyone else...
Agree, if you truly love your Filipina, you will think about how well off she will be, if you departed this earth. Hopefully if a guy comes over to the Philippines, he is older, and has learned to be financially responsible. Good video, Paul...Jim
I agree 💯 i and my wife own our own house with title free and clear. Your also right at least about my wife and four kids getting used to living a better life.😊 We just had a 12 hour brown out here on Samal Island in garden City. I as an American refuse to sit in my house during a brown out without lights air-conditioning and water. Apparently my wife and kids feeling the same way.😅 All of them never left our house after i cranked up our generator 😅 Good video Paul
Paul, I want to thank you for your content. I follow about 5 to 6 vloggers. 3 from Duma and the rest spread out. It is nice to set your Filipina up for success when your gone, But I can't understand why the foreigner don't give them the best gift of all. A higher education. As the saying goes. If you buy them the fish they eat for a day, But if you teach them to fish, they wont go hungry
Paul, watching this video I had the thought of are there no Filipinas from a middle class background? Do they exist? Do they date older expats? In videos you see a lot of fairly new trucks on the road (Toyota Hilux, etc) so obviously not anyone is dirt poor. Maybe do a video about the middle class? Just an idea.
Paul, totally agree with you about making sure that if there is a major age gap between you and your better half one should make arrangements to take care of her after you are gone. The other thing that I would suggest is that you teach your better half how to budget and how to say no to all those relatives that will come to her with their hands out asking for a loan. Money changes people's attitude in life.
Good blog and fully agree. I have been with my filipina wife for 16 years, mostly long distance. To make her finiancially secure it iwas necessary for me to continue working and salaries in Phil are too low to achieve that goal. As I am approaching 70 years, I will probably need to retire shortly on a modest pension, possibly in the Philippines. My wife should get 40% of that for her life which would significantly help. MY strategy has been to build her a diverse capital base, so if she blows one it is not financial ruin. Currently its 5 blocks of land ( two that she could live in) and one more being with about 30% down and repayments. I've put 3 or her family though college todate and they would help her if needed.
I guess it's a 2 way street. I have heard the horror stories where Filipina GF ruin expats life by bleeding them dry. So to be honest both parties need to help each other. A expat especially on a tight budget needs a Filipina who's conversative with her spending. She also needs to tell her family hands off the expats wallet. If she takes good care of her expats finances I would agree he should help take care of her future. Hopefully if she's a good women another expat will take notice after you're dead and also take good care of her far into the future.
In the West, they preach the 50/20/30 rule. The twenty and thirty being interchangeable. Here we live very well on 15/15/70. My partner is set up for when i die, not tied down by material possessions - we rent a home, rent transport or use a bus when we need, btw the busrides on Bohol are "exhilarating". It's definitely a kiss the ground moment when you get off 😉. The point being, when i pop my clogs, my partner will have an income deep into the top 1%, financial advisors to protect her interests and a lump sum to buy and build a substantial property wherever she wants. If you love someone, and there is an age difference, you want them to be secure when you're gone. My only concession to Western lucury is aircon in the bedroom and my overkill PC. I live by a simple mantra ... how much is enough? For me, that is a bag of shorts and tee-shirts, a bag of books, a working phone, and my stupidly expensive PC. 😀 Maybe i'm weird...😂😂😂😂
2 way street. The vetting process before committing to a long term relationship very important. Both the Filipina and the Kano need to vet the other for red flags before getting into a long term monogamous relationship. This is also a cultural problem as well. Pinoy have a "one work, one eat" mentality and rarely unless raised by good parents save for the future mindset. Should a man step up and provide even after they are long gone. I think it's in our nature to do so. Is it required, that's a judgement call for the morality of that man and his love for his wife or long term girlfriend. Plenty of single mothers in the Philippines that are not requiring the relationship before getting in the motherly way and being stuck in a cycle of poverty. If a man elevates a single mother or single woman out of poverty with his lifestyle and it seems to be heading distance to the end of his life, he may consider what will happen to her after, but nothing in life is guaranteed but death and taxes.
I bought my wife and myself a 270 sg M lot and built a small house. We live a simple life and rarely spend more 800 a month. We save our money for small vacations and the future. I sleep better because my wife will always have a home and some land.
Another awesome insightful vlog Paul. Since you mentioned the situation with Juelles, I was wondering if you were going to do a follow up on him?…was there going to be a funeral service etc?….just wondering…🤔🤔🤔….thank you for all your wisdom and insightfulness…👍👍👍
Great video! Also good advice to not let her family know about your life insurance policy--the temptation for a family member to try to get ahold of some of that payout might just be too great.
Very mature and altruistic look at long term relationships, especially with an age gap. 👏 In America there's an extremist trend (red-pill) that is very inward-looking and I'm happy to hear people like you have the EQ to give that the middle finger without sacrificing your own needs.
Did you know Don Carr that died here in the Philippines a couple months ago , he was ex Military American ? , it's sad he was my friend and he has 3 kids with his Philipina wife 😢 , i believe he was 55 or 56 and retired US military .
If I'm in the situation that your talking about only getting 1,080 where would you suggest to move and it doesn't have to be nowhere fancy and I'm talking about location
I was thinking of having architect look at my floorplan BEFORE I buy land to fix any stupid ideas and improve. Do you have any idea what the cost might be or a range?
Building and buying them a house is no guaranteed for success. After your demise, they start taking loans out using the property as collateral either to Banks or local loansharks. Those homes are easily lost.🥴🥴 These girls survived before you they will survive after you.
I had to deed my house in the 🇺🇸 25% each to my daughters and 50% to my ex Flipina mainly due to what you wrote!
This comment is as arrogant and ignorant as they come
Maaaaate, it ain’t about nothing more than this bloke wants to give his girl a great life after he is brown bread. He’s not thinking about anyone ripping him off
Very good point. Hopefully the widow is as sensible as her lost husband.

Well said mate. I to believe Paul dose good for a lot of People. God bless
If you love someone you prepare for their future. If you live for today and have no regard for her when you are gone then you really are only loving yourself.

I believe this video is very educational and reflects what a man of values should do: provide and protect.
Great video Paul…could not agree more!!
Great topic, Paul. Integrity looks after those you have loved after you’re gone.
If you have a good heart, you will improve their lives. You’re doing the right and good thing for Mae. 👍

Great video, Paul.
Great you encourage to ensure their future
You are right and I totally agree with you!!!
Have a blessed day/night, everyone, and stay safe!
Paul, respect to you for your concerns for the ladies. I absolutely agree with you.

One thing to consider is being careful about being worth more dead than alive. 😮
Sunshine shoulders did a video on that. Make sure you worth more alive than dead. Hit men vc are cheap in Phillipines or slow poison.
to my asawa yes. But she makes and saves her own monies.

We are definitely not sending our best and brightest representatives to the Philippines!
Way too many “Ghetto Rich” ExPats!
see what the best and brightest are doing home in USA ??? Not much better i would say.
@@mabuhayproductionltd3627actually a whole lot better. Hence they don't need to survive in a poor country
like Paul , Mark and Kiki
What the Filipina would more than likely do, rather than going back to living with mom and dad, is what she has already done, and that is to find another foreigner to support her.
@stan1027 Not likely, especially if she is older. There are lots of Filipina widowers in the Philippines.
She's almost 40.
Actually, many of them never enter another relationship. Many of them just stay a solitary widow because they actually love their foreigner husband, and still consider themselves married, and remain faithful because they can't imagine being with anyone else...
@raymahannah4336 haha!!! If they look good at all (in other words, have options), they'll find the next guy. You have a real fantasy picture of women.
Very good thoughts on CONSIDERATIONS Paul!
Agree, if you truly love your Filipina, you will think about how well off she will be, if you departed this earth. Hopefully if a guy comes over to the Philippines, he is older, and has learned to be financially responsible.
Good video, Paul...Jim
May I suggest if you have funds put it all in a Trust is your best bet.
I agree 💯 i and my wife own our own house with title free and clear.
Your also right at least about my wife and four kids getting used to living a better life.😊
We just had a 12 hour brown out here on Samal Island in garden City.
I as an American refuse to sit in my house during a brown out without lights air-conditioning and water.
Apparently my wife and kids feeling the same way.😅 All of them never left our house after i cranked up our generator 😅
Good video Paul
Paul, I want to thank you for your content. I follow about 5 to 6 vloggers. 3 from Duma and the rest spread out. It is nice to set your Filipina up for success when your gone, But I can't understand why the foreigner don't give them the best gift of all. A higher education. As the saying goes. If you buy them the fish they eat for a day, But if you teach them to fish, they wont go hungry
Have been watching you for years but rarely comment. Sorry to hear about your friend Juelles. He was an interesting character and nice guy, for sure.
THANK YOU 😍
Paul, watching this video I had the thought of are there no Filipinas from a middle class background?
So true so very well spoken.
good advice, we are good living in the U.S., planned way ahead, not lucky, lots of hard work
Your attitude and wealth of knowledge in the culture is priceless. Much appreciated brother.
When you're talking money, I feel that we have much more in common than our first name, Paul!
It's a tuff cruel w0rld d0 right by people. Thanks Paul. Hope at least 1 person listens
Good advice, no one can save everyone though. There also must be some personal responsibility for everyone.
Great video! Also good advice to not let her family know about your life insurance policy--the temptation for a family member to try to get ahold of some of that payout might just be too great.
You are a real man 👍
The Filipinas are catching onto the antifreeze solution.
Nothing would surprise me.
Hmmm…Marc Thornton’s pic could be the thumbnail for this in regards to not putting plans in place for his wife and new baby
That’s exactly who came to my mind also
its plain as day
Leave them better off then how you found them.
I love the teachings of Dave Ramsey!
It’s all about money. That’s all life is about anywhere in the world.
How to set up a fund?
I was thinking of having architect look at my floorplan BEFORE I buy land to fix any stupid ideas and improve. Do you have any idea what the cost might be or a range?
Me thinketh Paul playing his part in making sure that., the meek will in fact.......inherit the earth!@!?😉
I’m dating a 56 yr old widowed Filipina in USA IM 71, couldn’t be happier ❤
