It was a much better film than most people think, once you get over the fact it is not a direct sequel to Aliens and it is not gung ho action as before. However, the directors cut version is by far the better version of this film - the cinema cut leaves plot holes. The setting is unique and in the main reasonably explored - I would have loved the wooden monastery concept but hey - and the quasi religous society works well. The set pieces are for the most part well done, even if I think the alien design is average but at least better than "baby" in 4. I think if people rewatch this with an open mind they may be surprised and judge it less harshly
