I saw this film as a kid too in a movie theater in London back in 2004, although I have nostalgia for it I can't help but agree, truly one of Disneys absolute worst I have no idea how this movie cost $110 million with such subpar animation, were as Peter pan Return to neverland only cost 20 million and had far superior animation along with everyother aspects.

i really loved reading book, movie wasn't bad neither

It was a much better film than most people think, once you get over the fact it is not a direct sequel to Aliens and it is not gung ho action as before. However, the directors cut version is by far the better version of this film - the cinema cut leaves plot holes. The setting is unique and in the main reasonably explored - I would have loved the wooden monastery concept but hey - and the quasi religous society works well. The set pieces are for the most part well done, even if I think the alien design is average but at least better than "baby" in 4. I think if people rewatch this with an open mind they may be surprised and judge it less harshly
