So does that mean you knowingly got scammed and bought scam option 1? or
Knowingly got scammed and bought scam option 2 by scamming yourself into justifying a slightly less expensive scam? Or
Maybe you got double scammed by the similar numbering scheme option 2 scam uses to compare their scam against scam 1?
      Either way,
Do you know about AMD’s start in the industry and why they didn’t produce their own chip until the mid 90’s?
It’s no industry secret but many fanboys you reckon think AMD started when they bought out ATI???
Following on from your comment to be fair and informed AMD was started by a group of employees that left the same company Intels founders left not long before. Unlike Intel, the brainchild behind AMD was the previous company’s “marketing executive”.
They patented a few designs but lacked the knowledge and innovation that had seen intel quadruple in a couple of years and ultimately shape the future of things to come.
For the next 30 odd years AMD would go on to steal intel IP, make intel processors under contract then unashamedly sell copy’s with their name on them on them THIS BIT! so much so that Intel changed their naming scheme to distance themselves from AMD’s copy’s but not before deciding to not renew a previous licensing agreement that saw AMD making Intels processors as a back up supplier for a massive contract intel landed with IBM. It took AMD years and many court battles to be able to legally use Intels x86 process for their own designs. Without that AMD would have ended there in 94 and it took over two yrs until 1996 that AMD finally released their very own in-house processor albeit a combination of Intel and previously acquired RISC processes and headed by none other than, you guessed it, recently reigned lead engineer frommmmm intelllllllllll🥳yay hooray for intel it’s thanksgiving intel day for everyone.

These name shenanigans 100% work. I've sold many Ryzen 7320u laptops, which are basically 5300u chips, whilst customers won't even look at 5000-series chips. I mean, I understand why. AMD wants to sell more units. This devalues better chips like the 5500u that will get sold off at big discounts, whilst brands like Asus and Lenovo etc are forced to drop old stock and buy new models. Its good for the corporate consumer machine, probably not so good for e-waste etc.

To comment on the comment section of today, specifically the issue of high cost accessibility equipment/products, it also comes to mind that a factor in it's cost also come from it's development. Don't know if this applies much to big companies like Microsoft, but usually, a company has to invest a decent chunk of change into a product, such as creating multiple teams and dedicating hours of work time, as well as material costs for any amount of iterations they may be toying with, before they even get to any amount of production. Small to mid sized companies might not be able to afford to invest so many resources into a product without having to jack up the price tag in order to get a guaranteed return on that investment.

AMDs mobile CPU names are just silly. The third number being the most important. I was in Currys (a UK electronics store) the other day looking at laptops. Even knowing the third number is the most important, I was still having to check the model numbers online to make sure I knew what I was looking at. Given they sell laptops with Zen 2, Zen 3 and Zen 4, it's easy to get confused.

I'm not a fan of AMD's constant naming convention changes, but another potential reason could be that the Strix Point processor isn't inherently power limited until the product implementation. An ultra-thin laptop's inability to cool the chip at higher TDPs isn't reflective of the performance of the silicon itself.

Why did amd feel like they have to ape Intel's name changes? Ffs they can't even be a leader in names.
Clarification: I adore amd. I have and had and will have amd desktops (if they keep making good products) but they could be doing better. Especially on these things that don't really costs as many resources.

If I were looking for a handheld, ASUS would be last on my list. They messed up pretty bad when they tried to scam GN. I'll probably never buy any of their products now.

@@dobermanownerforlife3902 Yeah I don't know why Nvidia felt the need to "fix" the perfectly fine 8-pin pcie connectors. I'd rather have four 8-pins sticking out of my card than one that might burn my house down.

If they partner with valve could benefit valve and the Linux gaming community vastly especially cos Nvidia and Linux has never been an ideal experience. Plus a big player like Nvidia onboard with steam os would definitely make more Devs take notice of steam os and also make more proper full on gaming rigs compatible with steam os making it hopefully a viable windows replacement in the long term 🤞
Cos I really don't want to move to windows 11 but Microsoft is making it harder to just stay on windows 10. With extra hardware requirements game features like direct storage in dx. I know there is workarounds but they not without there flaws. N I'm sitting in the situation where if I wanted to go to Windows 11 I could definitely meet all hardware requirements but still don't want to cons definitely still out way any pros

My opinion is that the GPU market for the consumer is on its way out. NVIDIA will keep prices high short term knowing eventually the entire lineup will be discontinued. With Windows, Apple, and Linux based distros moving to ARM there won’t be a need for high end GPUs in their current iteration for gaming. Microsoft will be releasing their x86 compatibility layer along with the Snapdragon ARM CPU. Supposedly it’s better than Apple’s Rosetta implementation. It’s possibly because Apple’s quality on the software side has really diminished the last couple years.
