I Lowkey love this. It shows representation for people who can’t shave and makes me feel not alone bc I have the same problem. I haven’t tried waxing or anything but instead have just stopped shaving, I do wanna try waxing soon though and see if maybe it helps? aw this makes me so so happy!
dont wanna scare you but be careful if you do it yourself cause those cold wax strips did cause be to get folliculitis w baby hairs and it was literally dozens of them (maybe it was an allergy to some ingredients so try finding some good ones if you’re even gonna use cold wax)
sugaring is great but its so hard to make the paste and do certain areas yourself.

@@Talyuhhh going to one of those nice wax bars has always done it for me ! “Wax bars” are usually people who only specialize in waxing/hair removal, they’re a little pricier (like $50-60 with a tip where I’m from) but I can always guarantee a good experience with them because they’re just so experienced! Personally as someone who is really afraid to rip that shit off herself paying somebody has definitely helped me (also it costs the same as the amount of razors I would have to buy anyway lololol)

I did 10 sessions on my legs and now I am totally clean, changed my life, my legs were bumpy and had Keratosis pilaris everywhere and this is the only thing that helped. Plus while doing it your hair grows slower so you literally dont worry about it at all

@@cierraslowsdown it doesnt show until the 4th or 5th Session but laser hair removal burns off your hair follicle which is the problem area with kp. I tried everything before that, exfoliating, dry brushing etc. I had already accepted my kp but i didnt want to shave anymore so I got laser and saw that the kp really goes away. Bumps are completely gone, but you can see the hair follicals a bit if you dont exfoliate well. But my hair follicals where black, it looked like I havent shaved before

Hey Nichole! Me and my sister have also thick dark Spanish hair and after doing laser for 5 sessions we bought an IPL machine from Braun and honestly it's wonderful. It's like a little laser machine at home which we use for the moustache, the legs and every once in a while for the armpit for a little touch up. I can't recomend it enough I don't have to wax my bigote anymore 😭❤ The little baby furry dolphin era once you have money is the best

I also am doing laser hair removal, started because of my bikini area, and ended up doing armpits, bikini and mustache haha It is way cheaper in my country and not the best customer service, but I really like it so far.
I want to share my experience with laser hair removal because I’ve been doing it for probably a yearish. It doesn’t hurt towards the beginning but at the end it getting a painful. For me it hurts terribly, but it’s doable. I get my armpits, bikini, and full legs (it was cheaper to do all three) and it hurts in some places and not awfully in others. There is a numbing cream that I use but once you get to a certain power (overtime the power on the machine increases) the cream doesn’t do much. Everyone has different experiences with laser, for me it hurts a LOT more than waxing. But don’t let that discourage you because it is worth it for me.

I've been getting my legs lasered this year because I also have very thick, dark, coarse hair, and everytime I shaved, I got HELLA razor rashes and you could see the stubble again literally within hours. Dude, laser hair removal is SOOOO worth it, literally life changing.
I actually started with one of those IPL things at home for like a year (10/10 worth it), and only started laser because my local place had a 50% off deal if I let them take pics of my legs, so I totally jumped on that. SOOOOOOOOOOO worth it.
This is something more people should talk about openly, so nobody feels ashamed of actually having body hair ever again. There was this extremely model-gorgeous girl I watched on here a long time ago and she opened up about having hirsutism (excessive male-pattern hair growth) and she showed her face stubble and talked about her struggles with confidence... Honestly that just makes people seem so much more human and real, and god I just appreciate that so much. We don't have to be naked mole rats to be beautiful.

the worst thing about laser hair removal is also the shaving sad. laser and i are incompatible i had to get electrolysis :-(
abt the pain, I think it might be different for everyone so don't be scared! when i got it done it did not hurt that bad, it was a little stingy on certain hairs, maybe on thicker ones or ones I didn't shave off before the appointment, but overall nothing compared to a tattoo
i was kinda on the fence about getting laser hair removal cuz i have the same folliculitis problem, it really sucks and makes my confidence go down. I've also tried waxing, different lotions etc so I think laser is the next thing to try! ty for sharing ur experience i feel more convinced now

im so happy for you that you were able to get that for yourself!!! i have ocd and i went to a therapist and she wouldn’t diagnose me because “i knew i had it so i don’t need to be diagnosed”, it was a huge bummer to feel so invalidated :(

And ugh that’s terrible, I’m so sorry that happened 😞 I previously went to a therapist who doesn’t specialize in ocd who told me that we all have “our quirks” and that it’s probably okay cause I’m able perform rituals that put my mind at ease for a while but the feeling of needing to constantly perform compulsions is the most distressing part for me? I used NOCD for the first time today that allowed me to get an official diagnosis and it’s been great! It covers a lot of insurances (not mine tho unfortunately, but I was able to receive a promo code and get 50% off). I really recommend you to see someone who specializes in ocd if you can. Wishing you nothing but the best!

The “ free consultation” is with a customer support team member and you’ll be able to ask any questions regarding the program and they’ll help you set up an initial meeting with a therapist. Definitely make sure to ask about any promos going on for your specific state! The first one hour session I had today with a licensed mental health specialist was to conduct an official diagnostic assessment (you’ll get the result right away). The next session will be to figure out if there are any other mental disorders/illnesses you have (since ocd very rarely exists in its own) and dive deeper into your ocd :))
@@beth9906 oh awesome!!! in all truth i want to jump RIGHT into diagnoses, I’m a very logical/scientific person and so im very “tell me how it is so we can work on it” and my last therapist wouldn’t do that and kept telling me to “close my eyes and imagine im on a beach” and it was NOT working for me lol thank you for telling me about this!!

My reason to get laser hair removal was that my skin is hella sensitive, and waxing was really ruining my skin and giving me loads of ingrowths.. @@icedcat4021 I don’t shave, but I have a lot of hair, and deodorant gets caught in hair, and hair holds smell. Because of this, I want laser. I’m not that upset about it, but being able to do laser would simplify my life.

I use an an Epilator, sugar waxing, and tweezers. Most of the time I’m too lazy for any of those so I’m just hairy. Jelly of your armpits tho

omg i had folliculitis too but never knew what it was haha this video just diagnosed me!😂 youre not kidding when you say it hurts like hell, it felt like my armpits were burning. fortunately i managed to get rid of mine by changing deodorant to aluminium free (i now use Wild deodorants and theyre incredible) and using a cocoa butter and vitamin e moisturiser every day :) good luck to everyone dealing with folliculitis right now, it sucks!
i also do still shave my armpits however, i no longer use shaving creams. I use conditioner to shave instead which works soo well and my armpits are so smooth after so highly recommend😌

THANK YOU FOR THIS VIDEO. A couple years ago I kept getting infections in my armpits, sometimes my bikini area, and couldn’t afford to go to a dermatologist. I stopped shaving and found deodorants I can use (green goo or lume), haven’t had a rash in a year but sometimes still get some irritation. Now that I can afford medical care if I get a rash again I’ll go straight to a derm and if it’s foliculitis I’m saving up for laser hair removal bc FCK THIS.

You said that shaving made your skin irritated and I'm dealing with the same problem, Though I do laser by myself at home, I still need to shave before the treatment, did you find any better method of hair removal? or do you not need to remove hair before the treatment...?
I know this is late 4 months, but I had the same problem when I first started shaving, but now I use an Epilady. It works wonders because it plucks the hairs without messing with your skin, so you don't get irritated skin + it lasts a long time + the machine lasts forever, I've had mine for 10 years now. Hope this helps!!
