I've always hated the concept that virginity is something a boy/man *takes* from a girl/woman. You're not losing anything! And it feels very creepy to me, especially when younger boys are encouraged to have lots of girlfriends and they're like their little accessories. However, is it bad for girls to sleep or do it with more than one guy? It all just felt very backwards to me. But that's my own opinion on the topic and the kinds of things I was told growing up.

I find it interesting how those who have a uterus are expected to take birth control to prevent pregnancies (outside of medical issues) when those with a penis are fertile literally 24/7.
Also, there were birth controls for men but the FDA denied it because the symptoms (which were only depression and weight gain) were too much for them to handle…
However, birth control symptoms for uterus owners are severe health complications 😬

About not wanting kids- it is really weird having people say "when you have kids..." or "one day when you're a mom..." and then you awkwardly follow them up with "actually I don't think I'm going to have kids". Everyone always has the reaction of "oh. o-ok..." with an awkward smile or "what?? why noooott???" Literally more reasons than I could count on why I don't want them/why they wouldn't work out for me.
I worked in an elementary school and that just cemented my decision in not wanting one. I could go on a whole speech about this topic, but I'll just say that, the day I realized I didn't actually have to have kids was so eye opening and relieving. As well as having parents that support that decision.

    • @ItsLouski
      @ItsLouski 2 года назад +27

I think it's completely fine not wanting kids, I dont even know if I want them. It would be worse if you DID have a kid because you'd been pressured to, and then you end up not being able to care for It, and then its a lose-lose situation for both you and the kid. So just don't let anyone pressure you to do something you dont want to do, not having children is completely okay! If someone isnt committed to having a child, they shouldnt have one imo.

Not even married and they’re already expecting a grandchild? 😃 (not saying you have to get married, it’s just that the older generation is more traditional in a way that babies come after marriage)
They’re not even asking about your choice, as if it’s not your body and your responsibilities, emotions and time that’s being affected at the end of the day when it comes to having children? It feels like they just care about extending their bloodline and getting to do all fun activities with grandkids.

oh my god pregnancy scare story: so ive been with my boyfriend for two years (we are both 16) and a few months ago we had basically done everything except for actual penis to vagina penetration if you know what i mean and so when we were in one of our moments we both stupidly were like "what if we did it for like just 2 seconds just to see what its like" and so we did for like a minute or so whatever i wasnt too worried about it because it literally was like a minute or two. anyways about a week later i started setting up a flo account (flo is a menstruation cycle tracker app if you dont know) and on the app it tells you when you are ovulating and i saw that the day that me and my boyfriend had sex it said "High chance of getting pregnant". you see im not on any birth control or anything (which i should be on) and i was scared shitless. i was so worried/anxious to the point where i couldnt enjoy my day to day life and talking to friends at school was just a distraction that didnt seem to last for very long. i started looking up so many things and pulling up so many random people from reddit posts and everything the internet was telling me was not helping me at all. i started to feel this knot feeling in my stomach constantly which im sure was because of my anxiety i was feeling but i convinced myself it was because i was pregnant. I did all sorts of research on abortion and everything and i was super nervous about that too because everything i was seeing about the abortion pills was that it is very common for girls to feel nauseous and have bad headaches for days or even weeks after taken abortion pills, and i did not want to accept this because i was soon to leave on a very physically taxing month-long trip in the wilderness which i did NOT want to be pregnant during. basically my whole world was falling apart in my mind and it was terrifying. it wasnt long until i crawled into my moms bed at like 3 am after diving into an internet rabbit hole about abortion and i just cried and told her all my worries. she was so unexpectedly chill about it and told me she doubted i was pregnant but said she would go buy me pregnancy tests anyways. the test came back negative and i was definitely so glad for that period of anxiety to be over. anyways yeah i also agree that not enough people talk about pregnancy scares and how its so scary and you feel so alone.

A few days later my mom noticed I was spending a bit too much time at his house after school and randomly threatened to get me a blood test. I assured her it was not necessary but we still arranged for me to go to the gynecologist the following week so she could recommend a birth control method (in a prior visit my ultrasound showed I had some cysts so she got me on the pill, it worked well, I'm still using it at 20).

I love videos like this, even as a man I find them incredibly valuable. My first big relationship was with my highschool sweetheart, we were together from the ages of 16 to 21, and women go through so much shit with their bodies especially in that time it seems. She would often have weird stuff going on (like even just spotting outside of her period, or her period being late after we had s*x), and every time it could be quite stressful for us since we never heard this stuff talked about and I couldn't help much other than be there for her.
I think in the interest of understanding each other and being better equipped to help our loved ones as best we can it's important that these sorts of topics be discussed more openly and that they not be exclusively gendered

It was to regulate my period because I'd have excruciating cramps for the first 3 days, which were my heaviest flow, and then the rest of the week I'd have a light af flow and could actually function. I was downstairs doing something, listening to your video, when my own alarm went off on my phone reminding me to take my birth control pill. I turned it off, and then my fucking ADHD-riddled brain promptly forgot. But! Then, a few minutes later, you were talking about how you realized you had missed taking your pill for one day, and my brain went “oh wait,” and then I took my pill.
    Huge thank-you to nikki nasty💖

i started birth control around the age of 14 or 15 because my periods were too heavy, to the point i became completely iron deficient (like iron not detected in my blood test) and anaemic. i also skipped my period for three months in a row even though i'm both a virgin and a lesbian. shit is weird, it's not super clear. thanks for talking about this stuff :)

hi i will shout this from the rooftops if i must bc i swear no ones ever heard of it, but the birth control i use is the patch! its amazing, its like a plaster/ band-aid you stick on once a week and is great for people who will forget to take the pill every day/ will make us too anxious abt forgetting lmao..
ty for the vid nikki, i dont often talk to my girlie friends abt nasty talk, but i do when i'm drunk and honestly i love it because when i was in school my friend group were wayyyy against it so i feel like i'm gettin somewhere closer to being more comfortable with it, and ur vids like this help even more! love ya

Story time: I had the same situation where I though an ovarian cyst was an appendicitis this summer! I’m a teenager and I was at Virginia Beach with my family (I’m from Pennsylvania). I started having really bad pains on my right side, like- if I took a step on that foot, pain shot up that side of my body. My mom’s a nurse, and she messaged my aunt (also a nurse and has experienced ovarian cysts and had an appendicitis) to get a second opinion. I had a lot of pain and it was rebound pain, but no other symptoms. To be safe, my mom took me to the closest hospital ER. The bad part? This was a hospital for adults, sounds normal, but for my silly little injuries, I had only been to children’s hospitals. To make matters worse, there were people there with bad injuries, like blood everywhere, so my anxiety was having a time! I had a lot of firsts that night, first adult hospital visit for myself, giving my first piss sample, first IV, first scan (besides the ones I did for a brain study I participate in) etc. All to find out I had not just an ovarian cyst, but a ruptured ovarian cyst. Basically, because it burst, I was experiencing pain, but it wasn’t life threatening, and it’d go away on its own. Of course, the meds that I was on went away as I was walking out of the hospital. As a reward for my pain, my mom took me to the Wawa across the street for a smoothie and a bag of Doritos. The funniest part of this story is that right before this happened, back at the Airbnb, I was complaining about how bored I was. 😃

19:32 THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR TALKING ABOUT THIS!!!!
we do NOT talk about how negative mental health affects your ability to take care of personal hygiene enough. I have dealt with depression and anxiety etc. my whole life, and in middle school I stopped showering daily, and I have never really rebuilt that habit since. I’ve had periods when my mental health has gotten really bad and I’ve gone nearly a month without showering. Now that I’m finally on antidepressants, it’s getting easier, but just building up the habit of showering more than once a week is HARD. I feel like this is soooo infrequently talked about, even though I’ve found sooo many people who struggle with mental health issues struggle with keeping up with personal hygiene, because we’re afraid other people will find us disgusting and shun us, when in reality, it’s a symptom of something we can’t control, and it can take extreme amounts of effort and work to slowly start rebuilding that habit.

When I turned 16, I ask3d my Indian mother if we can get an appointment to the gynaecologist and she said that," Why? Are you pregnant?"
    And I'm like,"MOM I DON'T HAVE TO BE PREGGY TO A GYNAECOLOGIST!"
Because of this kind of mindset cemented in their brain just robs young girls of their rights to go to a gynaecologist to get themselves checked like what if there is a cyst growing inside or God know what.

RUclips recommended your OCD video to me a few weeks ago and I really want to thank you so much for everything you do and the content you make! I’ve always struggled to relate to people, their experiences, so on… I just always felt so alone, guilty, ashamed of myself that I would have never thought that there are people who feel like this too, you know? I can relate to several other health issues you speak on as well as like your music and style tastes! I never knew that what I feel could be symptoms of OCD I just thought I was a fucking horrible person. I have some negative experiences with trying to get help for my mental health issues but seeing your advocacy has made me want to seek help again and to advocate for myself to get the treatment I deserve. Sorry for the long message and thanks again for helping me feel Nasty ™ :)
