Of all the problems with making money go far in renovation of the town, Blackpool sure does have a lighting display to be reckoned with. It's very beautiful and impressive 👏
Merry Christmas Stephen, thank you for all your videos during 2024, wishing you a very special New Year and looking forwards to what you will bring us in 2025
Hi Stephen . The Christmas tree looks nice with all the lights . I wish you a merry Christmas. Hope you are keeping well and your foot is getting better now. It was nice to see you at the opening of Christmas by the sea. I am looking forward to coming to Blackpool again next year. Wish you all the best. Mildred ❤🎄🎅🏻🍀🙂
Late to the party again, one of those days. Thank you for the video Stephen, love the Tower lit up and all the Christmas lights really brighten Blackpool up. Blackpool has so many sides to it, why I love it. Have a belting Christmas!😊😊😊
Thanks Stephen, enjoyed the walk around. So sad to see it so very quiet, there doesn’t look to be much of Christmas Market just loads of fair rides and food stalls. Christmas markets definitely bring in lots of people. As for those empty buildings … argh it makes my blood boil that the council are allowing them to rot away. The old sorting office would make fabulous apartments. Love the scarf.. you been to maybe Edinburgh? Which is absolutely heaving with tourists just now ( we live in a village just outside of Edinburgh) x
I like that Christmas tree 🎄 the old library building is beautiful & I do hope they do up the old post/sorting office that's a stunning building. Well, I've broken up from work for Christmas 🎄 🎅 back on the 6th of Jan so I'm making the most of your videos while I can 😃👌
Nice walkabout Stephen talking of which I remember walking past one of their bars in Shepherd’s Bush in London a couple of summers ago and it was rammed full of young drinkers. The town was looking a little quiet considering the time of year. I had a feeling they would turn that bit of land into a car park North Station tram stop. Abingdon Street indoor market looking busy as ever. Nice walkabout👌
It must be an extraordinary experience walking through that lightbulb corridor. Trippers will be missing out on this thrilling opportunity by the sea. I am planning a trip within the next few days and will be taking a piece of coral rock with me to do the walk. See you there this Christmas.
Thank you Stephen I enjoyed your walkabout. from a quiet Blackpool I think St John’s Square is a lovely place plenty of places to eat. I think the Tree is beautiful good one Stephen ❤
We were there last weekend until Wednesday… and you are right, you are right from Monday it was pretty much empty. Most of the shops and cafes were shut and those that did open closed early…
Evening Stephen, yeah quiet but it is a Thursday and everyone's saving their pennies for Christmas, like you said probably will start tonight (Friday). Up there on Monday for Christmas, really looking forward to it. Yeah, tree could do with some baubles, great informative walkabout, cheers mate.
Merry Christmas! That was a lovely walk around. I haven’t been to Blackpool since 1969! What a HUGE change, of course expected. 😂 I’d say most city centres now are fairly dead, I know ours is. Thanks for the tour and Happy New Year too! 👋🏼🇨🇦
Great Christmas Tree Steve I Enjoyed it I Live In Small Township In. Michigan called Athens There is A Small Display Of Lights Fantastic Video With All of Blackpools Great Haunts Such As Ma Kelly's Single Beer monster 😊 Have A Great Night😊
Thanks, Stephen. The tree looks okay with just the lights on, a few decorations wouldn't go a miss but it still looks nice with just the lights. It does seem awfully quite there but only to be expected I suppose for the time of year. Have a great Christmas and New Year. 🎄
I would use lots of brightly coloured narrow ribbon sort of cascading from one tier to the next. Thanks, Stephen for all your great videos and pleasant personality. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you!
Evenin it’s not very busy tonight Crickey it’s like a ghost town haven’t seen any beer monsters for a while think the tree is lovely could be worse!!!! till the next one 😊
Hi Stephen. Enjoyed watching another video of Blackpool mate! I think everywhere is quiet this time of year. I’ve not long just finished my Christmas shopping. Weekend will be probably busy as last weekend before the main event. I think once the Christmas time is all done for another year. We will be looking forward to a nice holiday away in the summer time. Me it’s got to be Blackpool, for me!. Plus you need more Bass bitter being served up there then I will have a pint or two with you mate! lol hope you have a great Christmas mate.
Another interesting video Stephen, it’s quiet but the weather doesn’t help. As you say Friday is nearly here, I’m sure it will liven up. As usual the lights look great.
Yes steve, hope your all good.....bloody hell, the crimbo market's, quiet...wow....it was hammered, last Saturday....(saw u going in to houndslow)...(tea time) as we were coming out.....let's hope, it picks up, at the weekend 👍 😀...massive respect 🙏
Hi Stephen ive been given 4 days off until xmas. A few big hotels are shut then we are all back for business from Monday. Im working xmas eve, xmas day and boxing day. Id rather work as no family apart from my cats. Wishing u all a good xmas. Keep safe and warm love Thea xx
Most schools did not finish until Thursday & most workers shut down Friday so it will be the big get away Friday in most places. So It will pick up Friday nights onwards.😄
I think it's the LED lights on the tree. Our ones up here in Scotland are the same. They aren't as bright as the ones they used to use the old fashioned coloured light bulbs. They don't seem to put on tinsel and decorations anymore either.
So sad that none of us probably much notice any more that Christmas markets in the UK and Europe - including Blackpool as we see here - all need heavy barriers, blockades and fortifications to protect against terrorist attacks. Worth pausing just to consider - how and when did English society change, so that such threats became so real? Imagine what it’ll be like in 20 years time, or even just a decade. Probably many places won’t dare refer to “Christmas” in public.
Good video again Stephen. Cedar square pub was The Cedar Tavern. Can’t say I ever went in there. Lights are far better than Trafalgar Sqs so can’t complain. I remember late night shopping on a a Thursday, going in BHS and onto Pizza Hut for tea. Used to be heaving. Have a Merry Christmas 😊
Great walk around. It's a shame to see empty property all over the country when we have such an issue with homelessness. Surely governments/councils should take control of these places and put them to use.
Hi Steven I also went in the reference library years ago. But last time I went into the central library it was a history of blackpool I wanted to research some of my family history from 1942 they gave me a address in London. where I could get the information I needed . There is lots of pictures upstairs of famous people who did the shows during the seasons when there was lots of shows Always enjoy your blogs Steven happy Christmas to youm
Oh my goodness, i thought Bournemouth was the town that Christmas forget but even we have more of a Christmas atmosphere than Blackpool I went to Blackpool as a child, all the lights along the road in front of the beach, all through the town & the trams all lit up was beautiful, times have definitely changed in both towns sadly. Bournemouth Town centre has barely any shop unit's now apart from Primark, Boots, Superdrug & TK MAXX All we have are cafés, ice cream parlours, fast food/takeaways, card shops & vape stores The shopping centre's are all out of town nowadays along with all the supermarkets, most of the schools and the hospital, just like Blackpool, Bournemouth is like a ghost town during the day & skateboard/street fight/zombie apocalypse when it's dark, the street lights go out at 8pm I'm not 100% sure "progress" has done us any favours.
Wow, can't believe how quiet it is Stephen. I guess everyone is going to out and about over the weekend. That said I went up town on a Thursday last time I was in town it was almost creepy to be honest because I'm expecting it to be busy. Do a video now and I'm thinking the opposite.!!
Its extreamly quiet tonight in blackpool its a great night for walking the dog the amusments look empty aswell and theres no beer monsters either lol everybodys all spent up now walk about looks interesting but wow those houses its a wonder theres no squatters in those buildings its a shame theyve been empty for 10 years you could make a huge decent hotel outta them and the job center could be turned into a learning center for computer studies or a art gallery for stevens fabulous photos of blackpool and bargin beers lol so thats were the bench people hang out and theres alot of grand buildings gone to rack and ruin its a shame theyr closed down you could write a horror movie on some of those roads lol very spooky in the dark and the smallest pub in blackpool lol id have to check it out if i were there right now that abinon street market looked abit like brewdog in bristol temple meads brilliant place it is good for a decent meal theres some brilliant christmas lights in blackpool tonight very festive the main christmas tree reminds me of the 1 maculay culkin was stood outside in home alone 2 lol i loved it and epic tower all lit up thanx again steven for tonight festive video ❤️👍✋😊
Libraries, like everything use them or loose them, blackpool looks so depressing,i visited a few times as a child in the late 70's but id rather perform open heart surgery without anaesthetic than visit again The lights are the only thing going for it,so depressing
You can even make a quiet night sound interesting
Thanks 🙏
It's a lovely tree Stephen. Yes, you showed it to us before with no lights on it. Never seen Blackpool so quiet! Keep warm❤

Love the way the trams have indicators and also noticed that in your opening credits that the S on the word side is upside down
At least the Christmas tree hasn’t blown down this year! 😂

Glad to hear they had it back on. Friends told me they had none earlier in the week & thus decamped to The Bull in Poulton 🔺

That old sorting office / post office is for sale. It'd make a nice hotel.
Homelessness is a purposely created problem, desperate people are easier to control.
That is the plan, but it’s been totally empty for 10 years now, with no further news on development.
Have a happy Christmas where is all the people it's not like it used to be back in the 1980s ❤
I'm going to Blackpool next summer (I don't see me, like you said Lol) happy Christmas Blackpool

No probs pal. Good luck with your videos. Merry Christmas!
Walkabout was a new thing
I like the Christmas tree, less is more you know.
Well, there is that argument.
It's like a lot of places in UK now only busy at weekends
Everything is so expensive that's why. It was nearly £5 for a pint a few miles from the town centre.
Where is everybody...............no one has got any money!
💯👍👌👏💰💰💰🎄🎅🏴🇬🇧
Might have something to do with it being Christmas 😮😮😮
Probably stopping at home to save money!
