Definitely, I was raised in the boot and took a job in New Orleans about a year 1/2 ago... at this point everyday is about getting bacc home to the H! @brianadiasvlog definitely needed more insight from a native, you were living in THE WRONG AREA lol n you right, none but white folks around there... funny hearing your comments about digging Sugarland/Pearland or even Katy because they are def better spots. If you ever go back (for reference) Missouri City/Stafford/Pearland are southside suburbs (SW) for "US" lol the Nawf is kinda NE from Willowbrook to Atascocita

I agree with much of what you said. There are so many gloomy days in Houston, everything is so spread out which makes the simplest tasks take forever, and it’s always crowded.
That said, your point about figuring out WHERE to live is key. There are so many options in Houston. After 2 years in Houston, I’m ready to live on the outskirts for (hopefully) a better experience.

I feel like if you don’t live near a beach or lake you will get bored easily in any major city. What else is there really to do besides shop, eat, go to lounges, and bars? You will get the same results. I live in Arizona it is nice for people who enjoy outdoors “hiking, golfing, offriding, atv wheeling, horseback riding, going to the lake for paddle boarding which is 1-2 hours out. The only thing about Arizona I don’t like is it is extremely too hot to do a majority of those outdoor activities after 10 am, so you are left to do what everyone else is complaining about drinking, going to bars etc. Building hobbies, going to networking and social events is the best way to improve your quality of life no matter where you live. I would move to Houston and fort lauderale has always been my dream place.

Houston can be a culture shock. Texas in a whole. It's different in every region of the state. San Antonio is nice and the hospitality is on point. Houston can be hostile depending on where you are SE and SW side. Most ppl are dry as hell or nice as hell. It's a lot to do if you are in the mix. Black people tend to deal with family and cliques for the most part. Trail riding, bike clubs, zydeco events and car clubs are big. I respect your opinion and it ain't for everybody.

Great video! I been in Houston for a little over a year and alot of your opinions are valid. I was close to your area, memorial and eldridge and didnt like it. Too suburban. Im now in Montrose and love it so neighborhood is very important. Things are far depending on what part of Houston your in. I love HEB! Def my go to grocery store. Houston is very diverse but segregated at the same time. I think a big factor is you didnt have a community so I think that contributed alot to your experience. Theres literally nothing else that people do they stay inside or go to the bar. If the bar or club scene is not for them they stay inside their home watching tv. Beautiful days beautiful weather .. people down south could be blunt, up north people could be a bit nicer ..

The restaurants I tried was delicious 😋 I live for crawfish season 😂😂 I guess it’s who you know. I met a lot of really good people. The house that I purchased would be 1.5 million or more in South Florida. The school district that my kids attended Katy ISD was one of the best. Houston is a more laid back city for families. I've been out here for like 2 weeks almost 3. It is very gloomy. I'm like ehh. The city is like blah to tbh. It doesn't look clean just being honest. Looks like it's gray outside and the air is dry. It feels depressing. I'm hoping It gets better. It is very affordable out there though. Girl and honestly you are speaking the truth don't worry about what these people think. A lot of them are blatantly disrespectful out here. I thought when I was in fl they were disrespectful but out here is worse. I miss fl tbh

😂 born and raised. Pretty much agree. Houston is boring. I’m not from here. The foreigners do drive bad they run stop signs. The food is pretty good. If you know where to go. The humidity is horrible the winter is worse I always get the winter blues. Yes they stay in the house all day every day I even had to adjust to that. I’m moving back to the country. It’s always something going on in the country. It’s much safer. Enjoy your life girl.

Every major city in Texas has its own personality and vibe. I'm from Dallas and despise the vibe of Houston. I've lived half my life in the panhandle of Florida and love it but dislike South florida. I think what you will discover with most States that want you travel or busy different parts of states is easy to change the vibe. Maybe I'm biased but I definitely think you probably would have liked Dallas and had a better experience of Texas overall had you move there first. But the good thing is you was able to experience something new and I think that goes a long way in the journey called life.

Okay I am super late but, I wanted to tell you, I was born and raised in San Antonio (28Years & counting). Based off of everything you said, You might not like San Antonio. The culture may not be for you (I can elaborate if you want) as well as the food, The food scene here is TERRIBLE!!! and the crazy thing is I moved out for a year to live in Dallas and then came back to S.A. and realized how bad it was because there was so much good food in all of DFW and I got spoiled, so much that when I came back to San Antonio and didn't have those same options, I was so hurt. It definitely gets hotter here than in Florida. And the extreme heat (100+) can also be humid and dry depending certain factor day by day. The weather isn't as gloomy as Houston though. But it can still be uncomfortable for about 6 months. We are not on a beach but S.A. is the closest MAJOR city (4½ Hours) to the best beach in Texas which happen to be South Padre. If you're looking for South Florida quality water and sand, we don't have that but, South Padre is very beautiful for Texas and the pictures don't do it justice online, you actually have to visit. I could go further but that's just giving you an idea. I myself was thinking about either moving to back Dallas or giving Charlotte a try. I no longer have a car and I would have to attain one if I wanted to go to Charlotte where as in Dallas they have a good transportation system for people who live in inner city Dallas. Also anywhere where the light rail trains don't take you the buses will in a reasonable amount of time and, the thing that I liked about having a city with trains is they DON'T stop for traffic like buses so it makes getting places faster and smooth. But yeah, I could go on, I just wanted to give you an idea. If you're looking for Black culture and diversity at the same time then, San Antonio most definitely won't be for you nor will Dallas even though Dallas has a good amount of black people; way more then S.A., it won't be a Houston or an Atlanta AT ALL, especially San Antonio (S.A.) This city is built on Mexican culture. It's a predominantly Latino/Hispanic city, which there's nothing wrong with it but, it's not for everybody including myself who isn't of any Latin origin/background. I've been used to this all my life and I want different in a city with potentially less hotter weather too. But anyways live your life to the fullest, and if you or anybody who sees this comment has any questions about San Antonio, I can fill you in.

Girl, I couldn't agree more with the way them people drive. For some reason all these people are moving to Minnesota from Texas. They need to gon and take their asses back . Yes, the running stop signs driving as fast as they think they can. We have winters in Minnesota and we have never had as many crashes here as we've had this past winter in all my years here. They better learn real fast though because they are giving out nice hefty tickets for speeders and I couldn't be happier. St. Paul has always felt like a small slower city than Minneapolis. Now it's just too many people and way to fast paced for my liking. I've never had anxiety driving before. I do so bad now just seeing all these crashes on a daily basis. Okay I'm done ranting.

Last thing. Austin and Dallas are good places if you're white, but i wouldn't recommend a Black person move there. San Antonio is good if you're Mexican, but it's boring as all get up. Beaches are definitely better in Ft. Lauderdale as is the weather. Food though? Nah and I say that as a person who essentially lived in Florida for summers during my childhood. Same for night life as well. We do drive crazy as hell too lol. I think you may have just been home sick, which is completely understandable.
