I never known my grandpa to be someone to enjoy videogames but he heard the theme song over my phone and asked. His eyes seemed to soften a little and asked me when and how to play it since it was his favorite game and hadn't been able to play it since his gamecube so many years ago. I'll buy it for him.

Hey look, they added a Heart Block in the Pit of 100 Trials entrance.
That honestly was the most convenient place to put a heart block, and yet they somehow for whatever reason didn't put one there in the base game when it really should have been. No more having to go on foot all the way to the inn's second floor for a healing before taking another crack at the pit.
It's also free.
@@ryan20028 From the look of it, it's not free but 10 coins. Still night as well be free because you tent to make more than that on the first 10 floors of the pit, which is the soonest you can leave. The save block there is also convenient. There is one just outside here right by the thousand year door itself, but you have to do a little but of platforming and paper airplane action to reach there, so it takes like half a minute. This is way more efficient.
And a save block so you don't have to leave the room and plane mode across

What I love most is that new fans are going to experience some top teir opponents/villains in this game, because this game by FAR had the most well rounded designed and written foes in the entire series! Everyone you come accross is memorable, and that is not something you find in games often. The Shadow Sirens, Rawk Hawk, The funny sheet ghost (won't say his ;) name), etc! The designs are the best in the series no doubt. I still can't believe this game exists! 🤘📕

I think this is good because it’s bringing this to a new generation of players. This console has a waaaay higher user base than the Gamecube did and I’m ready for this game to get the love it’s always deserved!!

Like, I was playing this game like 20 years ago, and I've been waiting so long for them to remake it. I'm so glad I got to live up to see the day that they did bring this back.
It looks amazing, the action commands are back, the style of the game is back, the companions are back, the awesome badges are back. Amazing bosses, and the Characters, each one, brough something totally new to the game. Now I get to relive it all over again, and I've never been so happy to give someone my money.
please buy this game to show Nintendo this is the kind of Paper mario we want.

There's a reason this trailer is explaining so much, its because the veterans who have already played it don't need to be convinced, the kids do

Mario and Luigi series sells worse than paper Mario and the last remake on the 3ds bombed and closed the studio so I highly doubt they would need a new studio to make a new Mario and Luigi then a remake
I'm hoping for a new adventure in the series if that happens.
when they remastered Superstar Saga for the 3DS it was fine but what inspired them to remaster Bowser's Inside Story before Partners in Time on the 3DS? You could already play the DS version on the 3DS. This pointless remaster led to the bankruptcy of AlphaDream, so no Mario & Luigi Games so far. But with them returning to their roots with the remaster of Super Mario RPG and picking the best Paper Mario for a switch Remaster, TTYD, I'm hopeful we will see the Mario & Luigi series continue...

Actually Sparks of Hope was a underperforming failure according to Ubisoft. So it's unlikely that we'll see another Rabbids sequel.

I love the paper Mario series, and I’m and beyond glad that this amazing gem of a game is getting a remake so people who never have played this game before can experience this masterpiece. I'm stoked for the release, I finished the first Paper Mario, but only played a little of the sequel back in the day. It will be great to finally play it through.

Not always 4 years. The first 3 Paper Mario games were every 3 years, SPM & PMSS are 5 years apart and then it became every 4 years.

@@mikegalbraith9999 then you redo everything again, you keep the treasures, but you have to do everything again, I don't know if they'll change it, but in the original, it was a one way trip with no saves
@@mikegalbraith9999there’s two trouble center quests for the pit, so what i do is do the first trouble along with the first 50 floors and the strange sack after finishing chapter 4 and having vivian’s fiery jinx for a solid multitarget attack, then come back before or after chapter 8 to do the second pit trouble while finishing up the rest of trouble center requests
My record for getting through the pit as early as possible was post-chapter 5. I want to see if I can do it sooner this time.
AHHHHH! I'm so EXCITED! I am sooooooo glad they kept Peach's original dress. The upgrades in this game are amazing!! From the menu screens, the star piece's design, and the way everything has a slight white outline. The outline really makes it feel more paper like, kind of like if someone cut everything out. Can't wait to see how much more has changed and/or added from the Gamecube version. This was my favorite game growing up in the 2000's.

@@lemon5000-tj6nv I am sorry but I disagree. Not because those two games aren't worthy of ports, but both of those games are already available on systems other than the gamecube. Twilight Princess is on 3 systems. These other games are stranded on the GameCube with no other official way to play them, so they need remakes/ports more.

Characters in Thousand Year Door often find Mario to be very attractive.
I will forever remain shocked at how much Flurrie is shown in the marketing.
Maybe they improved her.. or they are like "Guys! We know you wanted more than just basic looking guys! Flurrie isn't a normal Mario character! Look!"
It still looks quite....off the way Mario touches her to use her wind ability outside battle.

This is probably my favorite Mario game of all time. I played so many hours of this on GameCube as a kid, I'm definitely going to pick this up. I can't wait to fight in Glitzville again.
so glad that they are not only releasing ttyd on the switch but are even remaking it rather than just porting it. you can seriously feel how much love was put into this remake just from the trailer alone. also that was an impressive amount of puns crammed into this trailer
Dude that redone soundtrack is actually insane
Only track I didn't like in this trailer was Rogueport. The horns and brass sounded too high energy for what the city is lore-wise. Everything else was phenomenal.

The fact people thought this game hinted at the release of the next console because the original trailers didn't mention the Switch at all in the original teaser.
those people were grasping at straws, it literally had the switch logo with the little snap sfx at the start of the first announcement trailer

some people have way too high expectations just to be sad when they’re broken
They will have to make something new, as the Switch later loses a lot of sales overtime, but for now i guess they could stick to switch for a little bit longer.
I thought people said that because of the Super Famicom colored button icons.
Nintendo's Switch games have pretty much never had colored button icons until recently with Super Mario RPG. That one made some sense since it's a remake of an SNES game. But then we get Paper Mario TTYD, a remake of a Gamecube game, and it has the same color SFC scheme.
3:15-3:58 YOOOOO they added a whole new second section to the battle theme that sounds insane!! It started sounding like some Revo Bravely Default type music at the end!! Man I cannot wait for this game
I think I heard somewhere that they’re going to have the battle music change depending on the location, rather than just what kind of enemy you’re facing. That could be false, but I hope it isn’t

Alternatively, I wonder if it could either be just an extension to the normal battle theme to make it less repetitive on loop, or after around halfway through the game, they may switch to this theme (recently it’s been kinda common for JRPG’s to have a new, more intense battle theme as the player progresses to keep the battles fresh).

So Nintendo, take this release with some insight. People WANT this kind of thing, we WANT "Mario Story," we want a colorful cast of characters, stop generisizing the Mario Series and be willing to do stuff like this that's different going forward. Remaking this game should be the first step in making the series more unique and appealing.

Thank god, The best paper mario game is getting a remake. Please nintendo, continue the franchise in the direction of the first two games. RPG elements, unique characters, and less of a crazy emphasis on paper gimmicks, and you will have an amazing series

I don't think I've ever seen a studio remake a game and just act like it's all new, but with this one, it actually makes sense. It's twenty years old, and due to the GameCube's poor performance, as well as the fact that it was completely overshadowed in 2004, it's actually very obscure.
Hardcore Paper Mario fans like myself may view it as a cult classic, but to most Switch owners, it might as well be new.
Anyway, great game, and the remake looks as wonderful as is deserved.

I hope this ends up being a soft reboot of the series. Basically, we're starting over circa 2004 with TTYD and now future PM games will be more in this style going forward.
I say that because Nintendo is marketing this heavily, and it doesn't have "remake" or "remastered" in the title.

Anyone else hope that we get a remake of the original Paper Mario with these amazing graphics. It would be awesome to see a remake of the one that started it all. I miss the Star Spirts and Twink, and even the old partners too.
I am loving every new thing they're adding to this remake, including unlockable concept art and music, and holy smokes, they're adding new music to this game, it all sounds amazing!
Thank God it's not a half baked remake! I'm so excited, the month wait is killing me. ;_;

I distinctly remember being blown away by it as a child and excitedly (and desperately) trying to explain it to my mother who could not have cared less

That’s so cool that they went above and beyond for this remaster. One cool thing I noticed is that each character has a different sound for when they talk now. That’s such a cool detail.
Hopefully the future is bright for Paper Mario after this release? Would love to see them release a true sequel in this style.
