It makes me angry when people say they have autism. They don't have a clue and don't get me started on ADHD

I have aspergers and *they* prefer to call it autism 🤷

Crazy me jumped ship on all platforms. I assumed millions would do the same and we’d find a new, productive way to maintain the positives of SM.
I don’t regret deleting my accounts but I absolutely miss the connections I was able to maintain online and there are actual hardships when you do not have any accounts.

I find it ridiculous that we are asked to take ADHD seriously when the man who coined the term himself denounced it...and what is up with fully functioning adults having autism?? I have empathy for everyone who has a debilitating mental illness but I just don't think the labels make sense in a lot of cases.

It certainly makes sense for the people who thought there was a problem with them when in fact it was the ADHD or the autism that made their life complicated.

Fairly obvious? That's why they call it a spectrum. Some people are more badly affected than others. It is not black and white.

@@zeddekaThe autistic spectrum is a spectrum of difference, not degree.

I find it doubtful that you genuinely want to learn about these conditions, given that you're currently posting snark on YT. If you wanted to extract yourself from your ignorance, there are many sources you could use, rather than baiting people online.

"The term "spectrum" in autism spectrum disorder refers to the wide range of symptoms and severity."
So pretty much exactly what I said

The guy writes a book about getting depressed for partying to much in ibiza. What about the people that have mental health problems for real trauma?

Weird comment. It is not a zero sum game. There is a lot of stuff about people who have had trauma. He is writing about his own experiences.

A lot of autistic people self-medicate with drink and drugs, especially when undiagnosed and suffering. The problems we face are not "unreal".

that's just pathetic!! imagine all great writers and artists being tamed by physicians like that... he is not critical enough to step aside and be a writer, that's a cultural disaster; no wonder he had problems with drugs and alcohol, now he substitutes prescriptions for them...
