  • The fourth-generation Highlander offers the choice between a powerful V6 or new-generation hybrid powertrain, with the gas version offering up to a manufacturer-estimated 24 MPG combined fuel economy and the Hybrid offering up to a manufacturer-estimated 36 combined MPG. The new-generation Toyota Hybrid System in the 2020 Highlander Hybrid combines a high-efficiency 2.5-liter DOHC four-cylinder engine with two electric motors in a system that’s more compact, and more efficient than before. The bottom line is an eye-opener for the efficiency-minded: 243 total system horsepower and up to a manufacturer-estimated 36 combined MPG. The latter is a 24-percent improvement over the previous-generation Highlander Hybrid’s 29 combined MPG. Yet, Highlander Hybrid still delivers the everyday acceleration, power, and responsiveness that family buyers expect. In another Highlander first, the hybrid is now available in either 2WD or AWD, further expanding hybrid technology to a new group of buyers.
    Test note: The Highlander Hybrid 4 cylinder had some variance when we tested multiple times the 0-60! The worst was over 9, and the best was 8.05. The best acceleration was not in sport mode! The fastest 0-60 was done in Trail mode, where the front wheel slip was minimal! Leave traction control on, or you will lose time at the start line. The new Toyota Highlander Hybrid 4cyl as a little bit less power than the previous 2019 Toyota Highlander Hybrid with the V6!

    This suv seriously needs a revamp on the suspension. Too much bounding over rough pavement and has no damping. 0 to 60 test in this cheap over priced suv is just pointless.

    • @partizanbgd0113
      @partizanbgd0113 3 года назад +4

      🤣🤣🤣overpriced, go by a Kia and lose 50% ov value in 2 years. I have a 2017 XLE and it's amazing. With 74k on it, only changed oil and not a single maintnance issue, knock on wood.
      It's comfortable and reliable; it's not a x5 but then again it is half the price.
      I test drove this car and for me, personally, not woth the change. I will buy an aftermarket infotament system that fits this car for the sake of apple car play, but that's about it.
      Had a q7 that had a better pick up than this, and even thou 3.0l is a good engine, maintenance was so pricey and not worth it. For what this vehicle is, in its price range, there's no better.
