Love this video and your passion.
It never gets old to listen to you , just like the records themselves!
much appreciated!
Wonderful selections...very cool channel......
Much appreciated ✊🏼✊🏼✊🏼
Sweet! Been waiting on your contribution. Fantastic
Thanks Jason I appreciate that!
After 15 years w/o a turntable, some problems with tinnitus and this whole streaming music thing that fooled (but I hated it from day one, loved going to record shops!) me in a way for many years. Well, bought really really good speakers last spring, and now I settled for a major upgrade regarding amplification and also took the step I have wanted for some time, to get a nice turntable and a serious pick up. Well that was long! Just want to say that I really like your channel, I think you actually influenced me a bit to take the vinyl route. Love your tips, enthusiasm and appreciate your knowledge about music, very inspiring!
Hoorah! Just awesome, I sincerely appreciate the comments.. keep em spinning!

Pavlov´s Dog - Pampered Menial
Smashing Pumpkins - Adore

Powerful list for sure!
The 1st UK pressing on Track - Electric Ladyland - is absolutely killer! The sound is out of this world...
Just found the channel today. This was an excellent first video for me to watch! Love the LP’s here!! ✌🏻
Welcome and cheers!
Being an old time gear head (I sold hi-fi between 1976 and 1983) I loved that picture of your system. I believe you replaced the TT on the left fairly recently, however. Not to mention the speakers.
Anyway, I have all but one of those albums, but only one is on my "favorites" list. So. I bought it a couple years ago at Spin Cycle on Bruadway in Seattle. For some reason he only wanted five bucks for it, and after my "personal" cleaning method, it sounds new. So it was a great deal. It's one of my "21st century" record purchases with zero regrets.
Some people remember where they were when a major event happened. I remember the day I was introduced to Genesis. It was in a Wherehouse record store in Renton, Wa. I was there with my sister who was dating a guy that worked there. He showed ma an album that had just been released and put it on the TT. It was "The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway". I was hooked. They are still my favorite band. I also have all Gabriel's concert DVD's and several Genesis documentaries on VHS (that I'll never need to play thanks to RUclips).
Why I didn't have So is anybody's guess. The answer is simple: Kids, fatherhood, divorce, the fall of vinyl, etc... The typical "American dream" story. Which is also, at age 68, why I was able to finally acquire it.😀
Great choices and very entertaining video. You’re definitely stepping up your game. The only one I’d ad would be Dylan Blonde on Blonde. Thanks for sharing and keep ‘em spinning
Excellent choices, Bob.
Fantastic video Bob. I very much appreciated the deep dive into Bitches Brew. I had no idea about the oil can kick drum. I always find your videos so informative. You're super knowledgeable and I love how you really focus on the music. Cheers, as always! -Jay
Thank you for sharing Bob. Peace ✌️
Cheers Doug!
Great stuff Bob.
My mind bounced to Buster Scruggs and then you mentioned it. So good.
I have a lousy modern copy of Electric Ladyland but I spin the hell out of it. 1983 👌🏼
🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼cheers!
Nice level up on the production! Well done, great job, a couple I need to add to my own darn collection, thank you!
Cheers!
hey double b..nice selecions..starting off with trane works any time..good to see you..hope you are well..peace always my friend..rocky
Cheers Rocky hope all is well✊🏼
Oh, I was expecting 10 CTI records since it's the summer of CTI ;-)
Nice selection.
Oh it’s still the summer CTI just also a few other things 😋
Great selections!
Much appreciated!
Glad to see you get in on this! Nice list of records!
Cheers
Great selection! All in my collection except for the Evans. Bob, your description/insight of Brew is inspiring.
Cheers my friend!
I just picked up that Bill Evans. Sounds so good!!
For sure!!!!
Cool, serious picks 👍
✊🏼✊🏼✊🏼
Love how you incorporated all your gear into the video. Nice!
Much appreciated ✊🏼
Very cool 10.......!!!!!!! 👊
Much appreciated ✊🏼
Great video. Loved the editing on the Miles and the deep insight on that record. Cool choices.
🙏 thank you
Oh yes Bob..... great choices ........for me Electric Lady ......is one of the best headphone albums.
Absolutely it is!
Some surprises in there :) I love Morning Phase but Sea Change is the ultimate! It’s a desert island album for me :)
Sea change is an amazing record for sure, that said its rather somber in tone so I have to really be in the mood for some very deep emotions . Cheers Joey!
Part of what you desribe about Bitches Brew (which I ve never heard) sounds like a precursor to Einstürzende Neubauten. Interesting video. I like your picks. Got most of them, but have never heard Bitches Brew, Electric Ladyland, and the Gil Evans One. I ll most probably check these out. Cheers from Munich Germany!
Cheers!
Hi Bob - another great video. Talking Book is great - it was my first Stevie Wonder album. I must dig it out to play again. I love Bill Evans but not familiar with your selection. I must try listening to Bitches Brew again- I love a lot of Miles Davis but couldn’t quite get into that one. Cheers Bill
Definitely give the Evans title a listen, bitches brew is one of those albums that’s like an onion covered in cilantro 🤓cheers
I love the album So. Red Rain is such a great album opener. ♥️ it was cool to see Bill Evans get some love and Bitches Brew is incredible. You can't beat a first UK pressing of Abbey Road. Take care. 😀
Cheers Melinda! ✊🏼✊🏼✊🏼
Great video Bob. I was a little surprised by a couple of them.
Like you, I love Bitches Brew but I am only allowed to play it when my wife is out of the house so I don't spin it as often.
Thanks for the video as always!
Cheers Ilya!
Only allowed to play it when my wife is out of the house? Sounds like a fantastic marriage. I bet anything you have to suffer through her crap.
Bitches Brew is a special listen. I used to have a taped copy and play it on my walkman at night walking around the city, taking buses etc. Was such a cool soudtrack to the night.
✊🏼that’s the vibe! Salute.
oh, good picks. I love Hendrix' EL, it's on my list, too. Love that era of Miles, too. I listened to Fat Time and Back Seat Betty on Man with a Horn probably as much as BBrew, but BB is obviously the masterpiece. Subscribed, thanks
✊🏼✊🏼✊🏼salute!
Nice list. I’m a big fan of Bill Evans but only recently discovered You Must Believe In Spring. It’s become a favourite of mine.
Beautiful record, cheers
What great sounds
This is a great selection indeed ! Abbey Road , UK -2 /-1 alone is worth the price of admission, (let me guess : side B in particular ?? )And Giant Steps, Bitches Brew, You must believe in Spring, Morning Phase, and Jimi Hendrix !! Excellent taste Bob 👍
Much appreciated, Abby road B side is top notch :) ✊🏼✊🏼✊🏼
Glad you weighed in with your great list Bob; several are favs of mine as well. Not suprised that Hendrix and Bitches Brew are there!
Here is my current list since I've been watching vids and thinking about what I really do seem to listen to a lot...
English Beat- Wha'ppen?
Miles Davis - Water Babies
Weather Report - I Sing the Body Electric
Van Morrison - Astral Weeks *
Derek & the Dominoes - Layla and other Assorted Love Songs*
Marshall Crenshaw - #447
Bob Dylan - World Gone Wrong
Bruce Springsteen - Tunnel of Love
Elvis Costello - Imperial Bedroom
Keith Jarrett - Radiance
Honorable mention: NRBQ - At Yankee Stadium
* = on my top 10 of all time as well
Ah that’s a killer list! Cheers
Awesome Reverb 👌
Killer "explanation" of Bitches Brew. I prefer to think of it as an "exploration" as you put that splice of the type of bassdrum used-which I hadn't seen before-info helpful to newbies AND "oldtimers" (me). I remain favorable to cds(gasp!) if only for the preservation of the original sound quality after MULTIPLE plays,as you often reference. Love the Jimi, although "Third Stone From The Sun" from his first album remains the standard. I agree with you on the cover choices-they should have flipped 'em. Would have loved to have been in the room when the Brits went with the "naked birds" version-somebody should have slapped that guy! It reminds you that the human body is often best kept covered!
Thanks for your ears, and your ability to share your passion for "the music",rekindling loves of many others.
Keep it going!
Cheers Charles! The key is we all keep enjoying all this awesome music! ✊🏼✊🏼✊🏼
After The Goldrush straight into what I would call Beck's first "singer/songwriter" album Morning Phase. 2 perfect records.
Good call!
Great stuff Bob. Teo Macero did a tremendous job in cutting and editing Bitches Brew into the landmark double album it became. At some point I’ll have to stream the Complete sessions that were released a few years ago.
Two was definitely open to going all the way on that one! Cheers
Great choices !
Thank you✊🏼
@@BOBBRADLEYCHANNEL you’re welcome
I must check out the beck release ! I have sea changes which is amazing sounding
Definitely find it!
Tom Waits is also in one of my favorite movies and favorite soundtrack that is in my top 10 most played records. Rumble Fish staring Matt Dillon and Mickey Rourke. Soundtrack by Stewart Copeland ! It’s audio and visual perfection imho.
Oh hell yeah!✊🏼
Nice line up. Ive been gravitating this month to Getz Jazz Samba releases. Also solo female Jazz singers from the 50's like Hellen Merrill.
Nice, that’s a good vibe to be on :)
I collect a couple of swinging 50's lady vocalists, Anita O'Day and Sarah Vaughan. Highly recommended!
As a frequent watcher of your channel, I pleasantly surprised to see you weigh in and I was curious to learn of your top 10. I have that same 2 LP 45 rpm You Must Believe In Spring from Craft; it is stellar. Lately though, my newly acquired Waltz for Debby OJC and Chet Baker Sings (finally!) have been dominating my jazz spins. As such a fan of Sea Change, I tempered my expectations for Morning Phase when it came out, but might even like it on the whole even more and as you stated, it sounds gorgeous...oh man,,that's a 2014 album...10th anniversary next year...how the hell did that happen? Tempus fugit. Great, insightful list!
That new waltz is Fantastic! The Chet is great as well. As for new records I’ve been listening to Ike Quebec classic series that just dropped a few weeks back.. gorgeous.
Interesting subject, I haven't repeated a record in probably over a year at least.🙃
I personally want to thank you for your class on Bitches Brew. If the students don't get it now they never will. Here is my list:
Weather Report - Mysterious Traveller
Miles Davis - Kind Of Blue
Miles Davis - We Want Miles
Miles Davis - Bitches Brew
Herbie Hancock - Headhunters
John McLaughlin & The 4th Dimension - The Official Pirate
Art Blakey & The Jazz Messengers - Album Of The Year
Wynton Marsalis - Black Codes Tales From The Underground
Jimi Hendrix - Band Of Gypsy's
Jeff Beck - Wired
Beastly list! I’ll be listening to blackstone legacy a bit preparing for this craft release soon! More Lenny white!
Bob with that glorious 10 Electric Ladyland is on my list man Jimi Hendrix pulls all the guitar stop on this beauty. Miles Bitches Brew is killer . Bob love your choices i new Bill Evans was going to be on there great stuff my brother.
I could have kept going but you guys know what’s up! Salute my friend ✊🏼
Nice choices. BTW, Tom Waits first record was 'Closing Time'.
Good call
Bob, I'm with you on After The Gold Rush and Stevie Wonder but disagree strongly about Jimi's cover. I thought his face in red-orange captured him his music and the time perfectly.
There is no right or wrong whatever music one loves is perfect for them.
Thank you for the dead wax info sharing great pressings is good to know and appreciated.
All good, keep ‘em spinning !
Closing Time was Waits first record. Heart of Sat Night was #2
Yeah I always get that turned around 🤙🏼
I was gonna ask if you'd seen that Buster Scruggs movie. So good and Tom killed it!
🤓oh hell yeah! ✊🏼✊🏼✊🏼
how about The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus my fave movie with Tom in it
Nice list!
✊🏼much appreciated ✊🏼
Corrections: Alex Dickie astutely pointed out even though Morning phase is in fact mastered by RL, BG cut the vinyl and is in the dead wax. (That’s actually a win!) Closing time is Tom waits first record heart of Saturday night is second.. also I blurted out “all around the watch tower” instead of “all along the watch tower “ thanks 🙏
You have to hear the japanese « bitches brew » 4.0 sacd.
It’s a révélation.
Great vidéo as usual
Awesome, on it!
ballad of buster Skruggs is incredible
Bob, you forgot to mention the *third* keyboard player on BB, the great Larry Young. Cheers.
Shit! Larry young on organ! Cheers
ok maybe I'll do a top 10... tough!---buy great!-JG
Do it Jack!
Hi 👋 Can't go wrong with Tom Waits. I like his album Blue Valentine, but all his albums are worth a listen. I like Bill Evans. 👍
Facts! Salute!
Seems like you didn't have to think too hard on these. After The Gold Rush definitely ranks high for me!
Not at all 🤓
Hey Bob thought I'd come over hadn't seen a video of yours for a couple of weeks I'm really impressed your production quality is very professional looking.
You're embarrassing me I need to up my game.
I guess My stick is I'm just an old man sitting on his couch talking about records.
I am doing 4K now so I do have some tech lol.
Been thinking about doing something better with my thumbnail any suggestions? Again I really enjoyed the video very good job.
Ron, I like how you’ve been doing your videos lately! I just try to mix it up :) cheers buddy
@@BOBBRADLEYCHANNEL thank you very much!
most appreciated.
never hurts to get a second opinion Cheers my friend
Nice picks. Last Beatles record was Let it be though not abbey road.
Hey Bob! You're one of my favorites in VC and we share our love for Waits, but that's not his first record, is it? 😁
Na Closing time is the first, heart of Saturday night is second. Good call ✊🏼
Bob, when I was about 17 I was hanging out with some musicians and we were talking about Miles and Bitches Brew came up in the convo. One of them new that I wanted to be a sound engineer because I always had a tape recorder with me wherever I went. He says to me come here kid and check this out. We go into a room with his Stereo and he plugs in some headphones and gives me just the left ear and he said just listen. He puts on Bitches Brew and I'm listening getting into it then he turns it off. He then gives me the right ear and starts playing the same song from the beginning and I couldn't believe what I was hearing. He was just cracking up when he say the expression on my face. That changed the way I listened to that album for ever, that why your story was a true education.
✊🏼✊🏼✊🏼✊🏼✊🏼
Not a miss on that list. Bangerzzzz 🔥🔥🔥
U mnie pokrywa się tylko John Coltrane, Miles Davis i Bill Evans, pozdrawiam.
Hiya Rob
Even though I worry I’ll be tempted to buy even more records… I had to click on subscribe today. Music comming from home must be 24/7 perfection. And you managed to limit yourself to 10 records. I did not. Hope you can take a look at my list and leave a comment.
So the Hendrix cover, I know he apparently didn’t like it (the UK nude women one) but that US back cover, it HAS been used as a front cover on some releases right?
Love seeing Beck on someones most listened to and also SO, despite it being and 80s album 😊
Have a great week, cheers from Morten!
Hey Morten, yeah Jimi actually wanted a shot taken by Linda McCartney of him and a Bunch of kids sitting on a Statue in NYC. But the record company didn’t think it was on brand. That image has been used on the electric lady land box. I’m sure with all the Hendrix releases the back was surely used on some release. The inside of the Uk is very cool as well. As for the list I could have kept going and going but you know I try to keep these videos a reasonable amount of time. Cheers and keep em spinning✊🏼
@@BOBBRADLEYCHANNEL Oh, is that the one from the Alice in Wonderland statue in Central park?
I know I spent 3 days not deciding and ended up with 13 because Alan Rosenberg did that. Also I felt I forgot to represent Scandinavia so threw in one from here as well.
I had the Acoustic Sounds version of Giant Steps. The album didn’t do it for me. You went with some heavy hitters.
Cheers Richie✊🏼
I often wonder. All these lists that various people from the VC do on their channels. If these are records that you listen to the MOST, why wouldn't they be considered your favorites??? What's the reasoning behind the distinction between the two of there is one??
That’s an interesting question, but it’s just what I’m listening to the most right now…
Yeah...maybe you could tweak which songs are on Abby Road !
No Siamese Dream?
Seeing The Pumpkins 🎃 tonight ! Interpol opening ..
I thought about it ! ❤
I do have to say though that Sea Change spends more tine on my player than Morning Phase!
Morning Phase for me!
Bitches Brew is unique in that you can play it forwards or backwards and it sounds about the same.
Lol that’s quite true I’ve tried it 😄
Very mainstream/classic rock&jazz/audiophile list. Was expecting more offbeat selections. Although props for Peter Gabriel So. Don’t hear him or Genesis talked about much. For me it was 3/Melt.
I could have showed some genesis.. ten wasn’t enough lol
Cheers
What no Harry Nilsson....Aaron Copland...David Bowie,,,,Valerie June...John Prine....The Derailers
Django Reinhart.....Charlie Crockett...Linda Ronstadt...Flying Burrito Brothers....Dave Alvin....What's
up with that????????????????
BOBBY! FX!!!!!
Bro you graduated to boomer
Lol it could be worse 😸
I understand Bitches Brew I just think it’s boring.
Sledgehammer is the worst song ever committed to vinyl
Only two album I have 😅 miles , jimi. I like hard rock ,heavy metal😊
ten metal and hard rock selections might be a great video to do 🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼
