thank you, it's one of the first things I do on any phone I get my hands on.
I use the front screen as my main display for 99% of what I do since it's a phone. The secondary display is for things that only a bigger tablet screen can cater for comfortably.
The Z Fold is a phone that can transform into a tablet, and that is cool.
I write nearly exclusively on my Fold since the Fold 4 eschewing paper where I can help it. The Fold 5 pen size and case are such an improvement you wouldn't believe it. Though I fear sometimes my big hands would snap the skinny pen 😅.
I look forward to the realization of the wider z fold with the built-in pen, The plans are already in place but they want to get it right first before release. Foldables are a complex and fledgling hardware and software feat.

I personally fall in love with this device. I was a Note fan and this device is like my dream Note, i hope in the next device they integrate the Spen internally and support for the Spen on the outside display.

Coming from the ZFold3 to the 5 has been quite change. Everything feels more refined, polished and smooth. I can definitely tell the difference in weight between them. Putting a case on the Fold5 doesn't feel like carrying an actual brick in my pocket like it did with the Fold3. Do I still have issues with it? Yes. It's not perfect. I wish it had spen support on the outer display, sd card support, native DeX support on the inner display, and maybe a bigger battery. Other than that, it's a fantastic device that cost way too much money for the average consumer to buy.
Excellent as usual! ..... The only one thing I would have noted in your video is to recommend that when users have turned the inside display sideways, is to ALWAYS double check the Fold's physical orientation first, before attempting to close it!

The S Pen that comes snuggled inside its case is a complete fail...
Now, I'm a Galaxy Z Fold 5 owner, and I have decided to purchase a non Samsung case w/ s pen for the reason that writing with popsicle sticks is an incredibly difficult task to accomplish with it being flat. One may prefer to shop around for a rounded writing S Pen 🖊.
My overall experience with the Z Fold 5 is one incredible product roller-coaster ride (weeeeeee)!!!!

Spot on review, I agree with your assessment. I use the gray / black case with the green s pen nice aesthetic. This is my first foldable and it's ruined me for all nonfoldable phones. Coming out of an s22 ultra to this as really made me want to spend more time creating and consuming content. An absolute game changer.

I have tried to be productive on the Galaxy Fold but 8-inches is not enough when you have to use the onscreen keyboard. So, for me it is more for reading and scrolling social media, and I use my iPad Pro 11 to get work done as I use an attachable keyboard that speeds up my workflow to save me time at the end of the day. That is my main gripe, no attachable keyboard and for people that spend hours a day typing it means the Fold5 makes your work less enjoyable and efficient. But that is my user case, others like digital artists will love the Fold.

It's indeed a great device and somehow if you find it with a carrier plan might be a value purchase, I think Samsung was needing that extra competition to get to this point, so far the one that offers the mist.

I got a Fold 5 and I'm very surprised at the battery life. Also, if you use swipe to text religiously like I do, it seemlessly makes the front screen perfect since it's for 1- hand use.

Where to get the wallpaper?
ZFold over ZFlip... wife had to replace her ZFlip twice, and the camera was terrible compared to the ZFold4. As for that, I'm upgrading to rhe ZFold 5, hoping the hinge is more durable... replaced once on the 4, and starting to notice the hinge is getting noiser again and sometimes hanging. ZFold5 is supposed to have an improved hinge
the cover screen is perfect if your a 4k display Xperia switching between both is great , the screen ob the Sony Xperia 1 mk 5 is only a few mm,' bigger so stop moaning the outerscreen is great

I literally just bought this phone I kind of thought it was the one that folded over the other way,..so at first I was like oh no and we're talking to about someone who had iPhone derangement.... No more to I swore say never iPhone just kind of seems to be the same all the time couple of different things. I was sweating when I bought this and realized I ended up getting one that was if I didn't only have one I would have considered I joke joke lol but 4 real the phone I made sweating about has dissipated, except for the payment part but phone and laptop get out of town
the front screen is too small/narrow - i will go for Honor Magic instead
I still prefere my fold4 because it is almost the same phone as the fold5 and i really don't think i'm gonna upgrade,maybe next year

The flip doesn't have dex
People hate Samsung's os. Developers and users. That's the only thing that deters me from these phones

My big concern is that, sure, it’ll be great for the first month. Almost certainly for the first year. Probably for a couple years even.
But if you want to hold onto it for the full 5 years that it has aoftware/security support? Very good chance that the inside screen’s gonna off itself in that time. The flexible glass is gonna break itself eventually, not *if* but *when*.
I hear a lot of people give different stories on how well their folds last - some people are rocking the 2 with zero issues as wood mill workers, others have had their 4 break already through no fault of their own. So there’s probably an element of quality control at play here, some panels are more prone to defects than others.
I could put up with this if
- I had zero other issues with the phone (fit the S Pen inside, improve the battery, and we’ll talk)
- the internal display could be repaired for less than an arm and a leg
Think I’m gonna get an S23 Ultra this year, in order to have a Samsung phone to trade in for a Z Fold and get the promotional high trade values another year. But I expect to hold onto it for 3-4 years before the Z Fold is ready for me to give it a shot.

The camera on the z fold 4 and z fold 5 are exactly the same I'm a bit disappointed with samsung they could have done better I think they just took last year's model and just renamed it z fold 5 it's not worth upgrading from the z fold 4
one of the things I wished they upgraded as well, but at least for older generation Z Folds this would be a good upgrade.
I came from an S22 Ultra to the Fold 5, and the experience is stellar. But I agree that the 4 to 5 spec change could be a little disappointing. However, you should look forward to the amazing trade-in value you will get from Samsung next year. 4 to 6 should be something similar to my S22U to Fold 5 : $1000! I expect a tad more for you.
Enjoy your Fold 4, it is still an amazing device.
Better software. Fold 5 captures more detail and is better in low light and with zoom.

Fold5 users will have massive regret knowing that they could have waited for the superior upcoming OnePlus/ oppo...
The Fold5 has an abysmal face unlock, poor battery charging, lack of IR blaster, glaring outdated cameras, and the naggingly narrow front screen, will be a continual burdonous eyesore. Only Samsung fan-bois will deny this.
If purchsed, Return before it's too late. Special $$$ trade in deals of Samsung will not help the long term user regret, on user experience.
Any fold will be impressive to a new user, not just Samsung.
I had the Samsung Fold3&4, so speak from experience. While Samsung has a polished OS, it is just too narrow for vertical use, even when opened.
Even opened, I Had to use the main screen turned sideways every time(!) to avoid multitasking app issues, from apps forced into a narrow aspect ratio.
Yes even opened, the apps are forced onto an aspect ratio not native to apps.
Apps will behave funny, and browsers will have missing buttons on some sites due to being confined in such narrow space when held vertical.
So you are forced to turn your unit 90° (sideways) EVERY TIME.... Effectively using is in the same format and size which the pixel Fold is natively in !
Also "Flex mode" looks better on "wider" screens like the google pixel. This is also most noticable on the even wider surface duo/duo2 ..Once you go fat, you don't go back.
The google Pixel also not good enough, as it needs to go a bit taller, and switch out those cheap dull screen types that look dim in sunlight, plus an updated processor that won't stay warm all the time, as the pixel does.
I myself "downgraded " to a used "surface duo 2", in wait for the "OnePlus Open Fold".
It will give a better form factor than these units.
The Fold5 is actually just an updated Fold4, which should have sold for $900, because of zero change in innovation or design. Samsung admits this by giving you a $1k trade in.
It's nothing more than an updated unit, because of "forced" normal updated parts changes(like the chips), due to parts manufacturers updating their latest parts and EOL replacements, which always include circuit diagram updates for thier updated parts, so practically ZERO innovation here...
Consumers fall for this year's iteration, because of "new toy syndrome" and shiny new parts. Even the screen HAD to be updated from last gen regardless, as manufacturing of screens are always racing to be competitive and have newer screens, not last year's old parts.
Samsung just lazy and "cashing in" on an updated phone, instead of pushing for a new phone. Nothing that consumers asked for. This year is a "skip-year" for Samsung, unless your getting an s23 Ultra, which actually does have an integrated Bluetooth s pen, great cameras, and good battery. S23 & 24 ULTRA are the only competitive units Samsung have.
Forget about dreaming about a zFold6, because by next year we will have too much competition of superior hardware units, for Samsung to try catch up.

Software wise Samsung is way better, I had a One Plus 7t, and the software was awful, One Plus is just a high grade Oppo (same company), same software experience.
@@thomasfinnigan8340 I agree, the way the OS works is smoother & nicer, but it is also misleading to think that a user will be focused on the OS, instead of the actual apps.. for actual app usability, the proper aspect ratio is more important. I am on a surface Duo2 now and experiencing the difference is much better multitasking two apps on both sides...
