One of the biggest plot failures of this season is that they don’t effectively impart that the Covenant are well on their way to annihilating humanity.
They probably expect fans of th3 series to fill in the blanks but that's just lazy. Just because we know what's gonna go down doesn't mean you shouldn't enlighten the viewers who don't know Halo.

That was what was so wild. Simultaneously they oriented the show to lean more towards general audiences while at the same time requiring outside knowledge to have any idea what’s going on.
What surprised the most was just how fuckin brutal some of the kills were in comparison to how little graphic violence there is in the games.
There is like a shocking amount of graphic violence occasionally, maybe not intestine falling out, but I'm shocked how much blood you can generate in Halo multi-player
Especially the first set of kills in the show i was like damn ! Lol
It's also ironic how most of the games are rated M, while this series is TV-14.
I'd say Halo CE and Halo 2 were fairly graphic, especially the latter, with the amount of blood that can be splattered around but yes, some of the kills were pretty brutal. Not that I'm complaining though.
I love that it was so violent because of how little violence has been in the later halo games

The writers read some books and the wikia but never played the games! (assumption)
The writers didn't want to do a shot for shot recreation of the games because that would be fucking boring. So they decided to focus on the worldbuilding of the books instead. You saying they butchered the lore is objectively wrong and shows me you never read the books.

A human working with the Covenant? come on... and that is just the most glaring difference (imo) between canon and this thing. Spartan removing their helmets mid-battle, Halsey being misportrayed (again), Master Cheeks doing it with a traitor, jackals having energy swords, Forerunner tech working however the script wants it, Spartan-IIs went through memory supression instead of being told by Halsey that they kidnapped them for a special program. I think this is enough
@@pach-nii3627 Just out of curiosity, what's it like being both wrong AND an idiot? The reason for the human working with the Covenant is explained pretty well. Spartans HAVE removed their helmets in battle. Halsey was protrayed perfectly, there's a legitimate reason for John activng differently, the melee weapons jackals had was different to Elite swords, Forerunner tech doesn't make any fucking sense in canon either, and a lot of Spartan-IIs were lied to about why they became Spartans. So honestly shut the fuck up before you embarrass yourself further.

I’ve never played any of the Halo games (the closest I’ve ever got to the franchise was with Red VS Blue) but even i can’t get over how terribly written this show was (I will admit the cinematography looking gorgeous though)

@Eclipze MMG This is a good list, Deus Ex is the best FPS of all time and one of the best games ever overall, but Halo is still a phenomenal FPS.

@@darassylmoniakam No, it is the acting, and the plot is horrible. I would go as far as comparing it to Netflix's Resident Evil.
I especially like the part where the same guns that the Inny's were using to seemingly no effect (eg: the minigun) suddenly do what they're supposed to and shred the Elites when Chief uses it 🤦🏻♂️🙄 *He's* incredibly strong sure, that doesn't just automatically make the bullets stronger.
Shields mean the elites don't take chip damage. With Chief he shot them long enough to strip the shields. The Innies were never on target long enough.
At least it seems that way to me.

@@donaldn5798 remember that the essence of Halo Games are the armor shields. Even the toughest enemy without shield will fall pretty quickly so yes, assuming that you could approach an elite without shields you could kill it even with a wood spear
Man this show was a let down, everything besides the opening slaughter is just terrible. The whole master cheeks "love" story never should have been introduced. Hopefully we can add another kill and make it 294 with this series death

Now I’ve never played Halo but I can certainly say this show sucked, the writing and cgi was horrendous, I’m not sure if this show was “game accurate” but if it gb be as it did it wrong

They never played the game, they only read books as a reference, even that they execute terribly.
I played a decent amount of Infinite and Combat Evolved, and from what I've seen of the show, it has almost nothing to do *with* Halo.

The CGI and action scenes were actually pretty good and they look like Halo cutscenes. The writing is terrible for sure though thus the action and carnage are the only redeemable parts.

It's got SOME decent action scenes but holy shit, this is what you get when the writers admit to having *never* played the Halo games like it's something to boast about. Also FUCK Kwan, holy shit what an awful character. The best scene is her nightmare of getting the crap kicked out of her by chief lol
I find it even crazier that Steven Spielberg is one of the executive producers for this series

Absolutely agree with the editing bit. The Carnage Counts format and your editing does make it look like a show worth watching, that delivers on what fans wanted and to some extent were promised.
Above everything else that irks me about the show is that in certain aspects, the attention to detail *IS* there. With the exception of the unfinished props, the physical props department was on point. The armours look great, the Warthogs looks great. As shown in a pre-release bts video, the minigun from episode one is labeled with the identification of the CMA, the UNSC’s predecessors to mark its age, an amazing little detail even some of the deepest lore and book fans would be forgiven for missing.
While the CG is FAR from good and maybe not even “par”, there are moments that allowed for insight into Halo’s world we haven’t seen before. For instance, we have a true on screen representation of a Needler supercombine as well as the brutal reality of what would happen when Elites swing around swords of pure energy.
Beneath the rot of preachy, cliché-laded storytelling; non-sensical character motivations and decisions and random oversimplifications of parts of the lore, there is a darker more mature Halo story that could exist down to the tiniest detail. Despite how hard the showrunners tried to bury that.
So i have to hope against hope that the people running the show have seen our complaints and concerns and will be working to fix them for season 2

I wish filmmakers would take your example. Cut out the BS, just show the good stuff like ultraviolence and gore! We don't need to know the gender, race, sex, etc.. Just hardcore action with no dialogue. I think it's why old Japanese monsters were so great. The actors stayed in their suits, didn't say shit, and really were all about kicking ass!

That one arbiter in that scene really sucked at being an arbiter, because he easily got killed, unlike the arbiter or many others before him They actually had a much longer fight with the master chief, or with other Spartans.
Anyone else laugh when Chief crubstomped that Unggoy and said, “Afternoon”? Also, Kiki Wolfkill and the other producers from 343 said that the show isn’t set in the same timeline as the games so the two could exist on their own. Oh, and on a side note FUCK THE DOCTOR HALSEY OF THIS TIMELINE!!!!!!! At least in the games, she feels empathy for the SPARTAN-II candidates that didn’t make it and cared for their well being to an extent.
As bad as this show was at least they nailed how fucked ground combat is in Halo, like every Covie type is a major threat because they can basically kill anybody (apart from spartans) with ease and in brutal fashion as the demoralize anybody else on the battlefield. Just a shame that the Wokness killed this show with its shitty writing
Nothing, and i mean NOTHING about this show can make up for it's absolutely horrible, disgusting writing that actively ruins all of HALO and everything it stands for.
NEVER, EVER CONDONE ANY OF IT. Because giving any sort of leeway is a betrayal of the original quality of the franchise and lowers the quality of good writing.
I only ever played Halo 3 at friend's house on Xbox. I remember people saying that they showed Master Chief's face. Which is like a big NO-NO.

The show sucks with the storytelling, and I'm GENUINELY shocked it got renewed for a second season... But I guess I'll hold out hope that they'll, idk, actually LISTEN to the feedback of the fans?

To be fair the deaths and injuries in the books and novels are very brutal and violent compared to the game.
Because in the game you get hit with a plasma gun your shields go down and you just fall over and die.
In the books you if you get shot by plasma weapons your face gets melted, burned or explode.

So logic, a goddamn alien warrior try to kill me, and what if I shoot instead the air-dropped supersoldier who was coming to help me.
Fun fact about firearms. You don't need to close the distance when you have a clear shot! In fact, walking directly towards someone, depending on the weapon, can make getting a clear shot even harder.
Especially when that someone is a giant alien with armor that is clearly stopping the bullets and has a sword that you just seen can easily cut through solid steel walls and people.
Y’know, I watch these action scenes and think to myself “How bad can this show truly be? The action seems competent enough.” Then I remember that Master Chief fucks a Covenant human sympathizer.
Keep up the great, amazing, awesome, divine, brilliant, good, nice, splendid, mind-blowing, outstanding, etc...........work

Im confused about who this show was made for. Despite the M rating, Halo's demograpahic was mostly pre-teens to teens, but this goes above that with the violence, nudity, and language. To add to that statement, the latest Halo games are Teen, lowering the age demographic further. Was this show made for none Halo fans? If so, why would there be so many things about the show that only Halo players would know? I honestly dont think it was made for Halo fans at all because how far it strives from the source material in style, presentation, themes, violence, and even the general story.
I'm surprised that atriox is in the show, but if you guys count the gun shots in the tunnel.

For a second I thought the title was “Cringe Count” because it’s the Halo show.
I'm still waiting for a fallout show to come out, but at least this show is ok, the violence reminds me of saving private Ryan in my opinion is a 10/10, the action is just like the Halo games and i never expected Halo to have a show. I rate this show a 7/10, I feel like there isn't any enough main characters from the Halo games

The literal only part of the show worth watching, ill give credit when its due, this show has some pretty dope action and (when they arent using fckin AK-47's🤦🏾♂️) its really cool seeing the different weapons and vehicles from the different games
Well, to be fair, they should not have Master Chief's face being shown, instead always have his face being offscreen or being shadowed/covered by something, just like in the games.
Everything looks great between sets, costumes, and design, but the story is lacking a lot. It's a shame, because this show could've been awesome.
They take some good stuff from the game, but the overall vibe isn't the same.
This show would’ve been good if it FOLLOWED THE ERIC NYLUND NOVELS instead of the games, that would’ve been a good alternate option then whatever this first season was, this was awful

Find it hilarious they copied most of their stuff directly from the games and books, but still made it terribly darker and not accurate.

They could have at least used harnesses for the elites that were actually in the games. They had Honor Guard elites, they should have just thrown the other variants in there from Halo 2.
