In the Kraken's attack on the Black Pearl you put 16 kills (which were clearly seen on camera) but Jack had to recruit 100 men, you also see one die who was already part of Jack's crew. So in that attack 101 died, and the number of deaths in the entire saga would be 687.
Curiously, Jack only did 2 direct kills. The first is the crow that pecks the grave and the second is Blackbeard. I know he killed Barbossa, but they revived him.

To think, Johnny Depp single handedly created the most iconic pirate character of the modern age on a whim. He was so deep into the role he stayed in character long after the cameras had been turned off. Executives initially screamed at the director that "He's ruining the damn movie!" but honestly, this series wouldn't have been captivating if the lead was just a boring slate.

Second time, still tons of fun, but a bit toned down because you've tasted it before. Third time is still fun, but you want something a bit new. Fourth time, it gets more tiring, and so on after that. Not to dis the films (they're great), they come up with great ideas for each one, but the repetitive gags can get old along with the millions of plot holes for the sake of new adventures. Fantastic kills in the series, too! So many I cannot list 'em all! Though the Kracken pulling a pirate through a tiny hole, the eel-pirate chomping someone's face off, getting crushed by a cannon, the death by cannon fire on both sides, it's all great!
