      I’ve seen it before, hooks are projectiles and they disappear when the max amount of projectiles have been spawned

    1:11 The underworld stacks with other biomes, like for example a crimson/corrupted Ice biome spawns both types of enemies. This is easily seen by killing mobs underneath an underground evil biome in the underworld, as these enemies can drop souls.

      I imagine it probably has to do with the Underworld being determined by height rather than block proximity like normal biomes.
      The Ocean works in a similar manner, albeit horizontally, though the mobs there still require sand to spawn on.

      Also, if you see the background, it has clouds in it, so it is not 100% Hell background, more of a mix between the surface and hell

      This is actually the case with all biomes, they all can stack(except for one biome but I forget which) I know this because of farming for keys

    7:42 when there is a house that the truffle can move in, the truffle takes priority, so some random npc cant take that house

    If you made me guess the hook despawning is meant to stop rod of discord afk farming, since latching onto something counts as moving and chaos elementals only spawn when you move

    for that "burning the voodoo dols in one frame" thing, try stacking them in one spot to make sure it doesn't work, games tend to have a list of order's to do that'll do one at a time, so what's probably happening is that it's burning each doll individually cause their not in the exact same coordinate, do i make sense?

      Terraria processes multiple things in the same frame (you can check speedkills of bosses to see that), this wouldn't change anything probably.

      I might be grong, but what you see on frames, is not what is being processed; what i mean, is that on a single frame a serial amount of things can happen, and each of them has a priority order. So when you see the frame, a lot of things happend and you where not able to see them.

      Still wouldn’t work. The point of throwing the voodoo doll in the lava is to kill the guide. And the death of a guide is what spawns the wof. So just because more than one voodoo doll drops in the lava at the same exact time doesn’t mean multiple wof will spawn. Maybe if there’s more than one guide, which I think he said he already did that in a previous episode, it would work.

      Judging by the fact that multiple guides and one doll worked; this could never work. It must be based off of the guides killed instead of the dolls burned.

      ​@@OldBenKenobi2318 Exactly. For this to work, each Voodoo Doll would have to check for and kill the guide in the same game tick, but that's probably not how it's coded to work. Each tick the game probably checks for a voodoo doll in lava, then checks if the guide is alive, then kills the guide, checks how many guides died, and spawns that many WoF. You'd have to have multiple of those chains running in the same tick for it to spawn multiple.
      It is definitely based on the guide dying, so to spawn multiple from one guide, several checks for "guide killed" have to pass on the same tick.

      Use finches or slime staff. Or any weak weapon. Probes spawn randomly in each segment after it is hit

      I believe that a probe is released 1/5 of the time Destroyer takes damage. Using a pre hm rapid fire weapon should allow Destroyer to release all probes.

      When I played summoner I used the blade staff which deals like 10 damage per hit very fast and I was playing on master where destroyer has like 300k health so I know firsthand that it can happen and having to survive 80 probes at the same time wasn't very fun.

    For the cultist problem: you can try having a switch offscreen from the cultists that leads to explosives, and right clicking and left clicking at the same time while hovering over the switch and holding a sigil. If it's frame perfect, maybe it'll work, and that's the only setup I can think of.
    Of course, it may be that explosives don't kill same-frame. Or that you don't click both mouse buttons on the same frame (although ig you could use a macro for that). Worth trying, though,

    IIRC Hooks were made to detach specifically because a player is counted as "in movement/not idle" when hooked onto something, meaning before you could just hook yourself to something and make a perfect afk farm because the game will always think you're moving.
    Hence, it detaches.

    For that last one, I'd probably consider it plausible rather than busted, since it might be possible to spawn both the cultist and moon lord at once if the cultists are killed on the same frame the sigil is used. However, actually achieving that would be very difficult to do, since you wouldn't be able to use wiring.

      Why couldn't we trigger explosives with a pressure plate while using the sigil? That way it would be potentially possible to have both actions done on the same game tick.

      @@MGSLurmey It may still be difficult to get the proper timing. Though, one way to do it could be to have some sort of timer that makes an audible noise each time it fires, and on the 10th or so fire of the timer, have the explosives blow up. This may make it easier to get the timing.

      Maybe hook them up to a switch and hold the sigil. Then all you need to do is right click and left click at the same time. Might still be difficult, but much easier than trying to time a pressure plate or timer with a click.

      Iirc the requirements are only calculated once per day, which would mean that any NPC which requires a different NPC couldn't move in on the same day

      I’m pretty sure this video already disproved that with the house world
      I am almost 100% it’s that they come back in the houses they were assigned so that every time they die, you don’t have to manually reappoint them yourself
      Also, guide moved to the ocean, he likes forests

      Wrong, if it was true some npcs would spawn in the underground houses, which was not the case as every npc prioritized the surface
      They respawned in the snow house because respawned npcs will always prioritize the house they were in before death

      That doesn't happen. That only happens if corrupt blocks are left off-screen. As seen in previous Mythbusters, the Dryad purity counter rounds down, and a small amount of blocks can still exist in the world despite the Dryad claiming it is entirely pure.

      I think what the wiki is referring to is that players need to make sure to also spray the clentaminator out of bounds when they purify the world because the evils can spread there but the player can’t see them. If any are missed out of bounds, those evil blocks can respread.

      @@Sezimus In the Celebration Mk10 seed, the Princess (Yorai) spawns immediately, same as the Steampunker (Whitney) and the Bunny (Angora), and the Guide starts out as Andrew. The Princess won't drop the Staff until hardmode, though.

    Being able to reel in fish by moving far enoigh away does actually have some potential use to it. I would imagine that it's possible to detect the bober moving when a fish tugs with projectile pressure pads, and if so you could then trigger something to move the player away, thud automatically reeling the fish in.
    You would still need to manually cast the line again, but it'd remove the need to pay such close attention constantly.

    The grapple hook despawn exists due to how projectiles are coded in Terraria. They always have a set despawn timer for optimization purposes.

    With the Truffle thing I'd guess that the Truffle is somewhat prioritized for moving in so that other npcs don't constantly take the mushroom houses first and since you had one spawned in it was checking every house for a mushroom biome and couldn't find one so it just kept doing it, it couldn't skip it since having it spawned would be telling the game that there is a house in a mushroom biome somewhere in the world that it has to check for.

      If an NPC kills a mob, the player is automatically given credit for killing it. I think this also happens if the mob dies to traps or lava. However, I’m not sure which player will receive credit if they are in multiplayer. The last player to attack the mob is given credit, but what if no one attacks it? Does the owner of the world get the credit?

      Well, if the projectile cap is reached, it doesn't override old projectiles. Rather, it simply stops more projectiles from spawning

    Myth: In a more normal, non house filled world, The Truffle takes priority for finding a house first and will not let any other NPCs move into houses (just in case they take the only mushroom one)
    Should make sure to spawn them all on the same game tick so that their internal clocks for finding houses line up, and even if false, I’m curious to see if the same NPCs move in each time this is tested

    Myth: 9:18 what if you did the same thing but using T-Edit to spawn multiple guides.
    My assumption being that if it can kill all the guides at once maybe multiple walls of flesh will spawn.

    The Truffle may be iterating each valid house to check if it exists within a mushroom biome, causing extreme lag due to the sheer quantity of valid houses to check. At least that's my theory lol

    This may have been mentioned (or maybe you even tested it already), but while burning multiple dolls will still only spawn one WoF, I do believe killing multiple Guides in the Underworld lava will indeed spawn multiple WoFs. If it's all on the same frame, the WoFs will even be stacked on top of each other.

    Myth: Wall of Flesh can spawn as long as the guide dies and you're in the underworld. Something like no matter how he dies or where he is it will spawn

      A part of that was already tested, When both you and the guide are in the underworld, any way of killing the guide works as long as he is submerged in lava while it happens. We haven’t tried moving the guide out of the underworld yet though…

      @@ianjohnson218 you can spawn wall of flesh without being in the underworld yourself, so i think it depends on the guide/doll's location, not yours
      you can drop the guide/doll from the surface into a pool of lava in the underworld and it summons the wall, you don't have to be there

    mythbusters idea: to avoid getting crushed by wall of flesh, cover the entire map in cobwebs and get the WoF to tongue you, then when the WoF tries to go to the edge of the map, you wont die?

    My guess on the truffle would be that game checks valid houses for mushrom biome when it tries to settle it - with mildly unoptimised method that doesn't cause problems if there's less than a thousand valid houses on a map.

    I remember back in the day, I used to play on a terraria server that had a plugin or something that prevented the world from ever entering hardmode; that said, it still allowed the hallow (and corruption) to spawn. I bring this up because I distinctly remember the world being crisscrossed with the biomes; if I recall the biomes intersect roughly where the wall was killed.

    I have an idea for a challenge series.
    How about you have a series where
    you have to stay underwater for the
    whole game.
    Perhaps you can start the game off
    with a breathing reed.
    Or maybe you can change the rules
    to where you can also be partially
    under the water.
    I feel like you would have to put a
    small pool of water at spawn in T-edit though.

    This Mythbusters is awesome and it has given me an idea for a playthrough!
    What if you delete the underground, cavern and undeworld and move the surface and space layer to the underworld? The playthrough would look weird and it would have its own challenges and eazy parts! (you may also need to move the lizhard temple to make this work) also I think you can get lava to spawn the wall of flesh by destroying meteorite in the underworld but in not sure

    I remember way back when Terraria first came out, grappling hooks actually had a flairly brief timer for clinging to something. The better the grapling hook you had the longer it would latch on to something. I'm guessing at some point they set the timer to 10 minutes cause who is going to stay attached for that long on normal gameplay.

    Myth: Like for the myth at 11:44, in the drunk world, you can reroll crimson and corruption after converting back to pre-hardmode and defeating the wall of flesh again.
    (So 1st wall of flesh spawns corruption, second spawns crimson or vice versa)

    At 2:26: I believe this happens because grappling hooks are classified as projectiles in the code, just like arrows are. The programmers probably just left it at some placeholder value, like 36000 ticks, which is 10 minutes (1 tick = 1/60th of a second).

    For the Truffle bug: the game most likely is checking every single housing and checking if it's in a mushroom biome for every single one of them. The biome check is probably very inefficient and slow. Also, the reason the other nocs werent moving while truffle was there was because the game was busy checking for truffle biome housing, and the other npcs were waiting in a line after truffle.

    The npcs seem to pick a house above ground, however I remember when playing on ps3 that the npcs seemed to always want to choose a house I had built in the underground biome directly below spawn. Maybe the priority has been changed?

    another thing about npc housing: they tend to move further away from each other unless there's no way to. If you have a house for 10 npcs scattered underground meanwhile having a lot of houses on the surface in one spot with lots of npcs, they move underground.

    I think the reason hooks disappear was an attempt to prevent some forms of idle farming. Certain rare enemies like the enchanted sword stop spawning after you've been afk for 5 mins, however when using a hook the game considers you to be moving and not afk as a result. If you were to try and farm enchanted swords, you would have to stay around to rehook after some time which makes afking considerably harder to do without some sort of autoclicker.

    Myth: If you have the Presserator equipped, placing sand and dropping it, or placing it at a cliff so it falls immediately, will carry the actuators with the sand. Second myth: Since bubble blocks placed over liquid hold it until the world is left and reloaded, at which point the liquid falls, placing bubble blocks all through a pool of liquid, then removing the walls so that the bubbles are the only thing holding the liquid, then leaving the world and coming back, will cause only the edge blocks to lose liquid, or only the top layer. Both of these myths were inspired by build time-lapses: the sand one by Gerudo Town, and the bubble one by Fungus Golf.

    I think the reason why the snow biome in hell works is the same reason why the corrupt or hallowed biomes works in hell as well (as in you’ll still get souls of light/night in hell), though I could be wrong, or it could just be related in some way

    An interesting part of the cultists disappearing when the sigil is used is that you can see it happen just by standing there. The tablet disappears too, just like it does when the Lunatic Cultist spawns

    The first myth worked because the underworld is a world layer, not a biome, so if enough blocks are near you to make a valid biome, it counts as being within that biome. That’s why you can drop biome keys and souls in the underworld and have biome specific enemies spawn there.

      also why underground biomes exist
      it checks for a biome for biome keys, and checks the world layer for stuff like enemy spawns and souls
      and just like the forest biome, the default cavern biome is simply the lack of a biome
