Idea: If the balls the Golfer throws deal damage, and you can hit them after they land, does doing so allow you to damage enemies?
I’m guessing the game will treat it as your own golf ball as soon as you hit it so probably not

I was thinking about that but yeah what the other guy said it might just count as yours
I would assume the golfer golfball and the player used one are different projectiles and are treated different from each other with the only similarity is its gavity/velocity and the texture/effect so its unlikely that it would be hitable

For the pillars + Moon Lord myth, could you use wired explosives + golf to see them to kill them remotely at the same time as using a sigil, or would the Lunatic Cultist not spawn in this case?
or maybe you could get a second player? one standing next to the dungeon to watch the cultists, one with the sigil a short ways away?

@@TurkeyTray if the other player uses binoculars/golf, it should work.
It depends only on distance, and the only reason WoS couldn't do it was having to switch items to use the sigil.

Myth: you can take fall damage from cracked bricks. it is a game mechanic for thin ice, so maybe cracked dungeon bricks too?
I say the cracked brick is going to add damage to fall damage. But that's if the cracked bricks want to fall or not.

Myth: Speed buffs make hoiks go faster, and slowness and chilled debuffs make them go slower.
hoiks work by teleporting you to another predetermined location close by, so you have to chain all those steps to make a functional hoik train, no speed involved, if i remember correctly
This literally won't affect the speed of the hoik and quite frankly I don't get why this is a myth
Hoik is a glitch, not a movement thing, sorry.
if you have the stopwatch you can just see that your speed is 0 when on a hoik movement speed buffs wont even be able to apply

*Myth: Can Meteorite harm mobs, creatures or Boss upon landing on their spot?*
No it can't, meteorites simply modify terrain, they do not generate explosions
Myth: Meteorite crash can convert/destroy higher tier ore or objects that require a higher pickaxe power to mine (like Titanium/Chlorophyte ores, Lihzahrd altar) into meteorite ore.

I’m almost 100% sure, as the meteor replaces all blocks around it except for some blocks like lihzahrd bricks

2-ish myths
myth 1: you can outrun healing (vampire knives spectre armor etc.)
myth if first is true: while one player is outrunning healing, another player can touch the healing orb thing and receive the healing instead.
it most certainly won't work. the healing is targeted to the player and won't change course for someone else. that and I simply don't see how this would be feasible without mod. I guess teleporter might work
The healing instantly heals the player, it isn't a thing that travels to them. What you see is just a visual effect that doesn't do anything.
In one of my world's I dug a pretty deep hole where I though a sword shrine would be, and a meteor lands and i couldnt find it. Turns out it landed in there
For the world evils, 300 is indeed not a big enough trial. If we assume the "real" split is 50/50, then chance of getting 158 crimson (or higher) is about 20%, so it really is sort of inconclusive.
Needless to say, if the "real" split is 55/45, chances of getting 158 (or lower) is also about 20%, but I'm more thinking the myth is the split isn't 50/50 rather than that it is any other specific ratio.
Although I'm slightly surprised that there isn't documentation on this and that nobody has asked somebody at re-logic at this. Doesn't seem like it's something worth hiding and the devs seems nice enough to answer silly questions like these.

Small idea related to the golfing and cultists part. If two players are present and one has a gold ball over by the cultists when the other spawns Mood Lord, will they despawn while visible to the player using the golf ball?
Myth: if you hold down while on the slime Mount bouncing on the eoc, you can go to space(holding down when you drink a feather fall potion makes you fall faster)
it makes you fall at the same speed as without the potion, so it'd be the same. eventually eoc gets too fast, and as the slime mount bounces only bounce if you're going down, featherfall actually performs worse with the rocket as seen in the vido
I wonder if timing the down presses could do a difference to just not holding a key with featherfall
To clarify the Dungeon Guardian spawn rate myth at 3:29
You can't change it's spawn rate but it's not strictly tied to Dungeon Guardian
There's a line of code that overrides spawn rate's value to 10 WHILE player hasn't downed Skeletron AND IS in the dungeon zone
To compare the base spawn rate is 600 but it varies depending on the biome/height/event and that's why sometimes he spawns with a weird delay instead of doing it instantly
Also because you're in the dungeon zone you can only spawn enemies from that zone. But Dungeon Guardian is the only mob in the pool while Skeletron is not killed so only he can spawn.
TLDR; Without mods nothing can affect Dungeon Guardian spawn rate

@@enderlochnot at home currently so i can't really check the code but my guess would be that either journey has a higher priority over spawns or something also probable that it modifies amount of spawn ticks that happens instead of changing rates. I will be back soon so i will check this up cause i'm curious and always forget that journey is a thing
@@enderloch @enderloch checked the code and it's actually a funny thing how it works.
Basically the journey mode spawn rate slider check is actually done before dungeon guardian so guardian still overrides the spawn rate meaning anything still has value of 10 BUT dungeon guardian doesn't override maxSpawns which is the value that is also multiplied by the slider's value so setting it to 0 can't spawn any guardian because maximum number of spawns is 0.
TLDR; slider doesn't change guardian's spawn rate but changes how many guardians CAN spawn

Myth: You can reel in a fish by moving too far away from the bobber (which causes it to return to the fishing rod in the same way of pressing left click when the bobber is out)

I just can't testify if you can reel in fish this way.

I haven't played the game in a while, and I don't know how I got lost in this video, but you used to be able to ride eye of cthulhu to the space with a slime mount for sure. I remember showing my new "elevator" to my brother when I first discovered it.

Using This Myth, It Is Also Theoretical To Have More Than 1 Destroyer And More Than 2 Twins.
Myth: you will see enemies spawn on screen when on the edge of world in ocean.
Oh, that actually happened to me. I was in space and i was using the RoD. My cursor was like out of bounds and it teleported me a block away for a sec. In that time i saw a harpy spawning on screen

@@relturtle I don't know the game as much as some other people know it. Also I rarely beat the old ons army because is pretty dificult for me. Never actually managed to beat moon lord in the first place.
the slime mounts only bounces if its falling, so the featherfall potion worked a bit too well and kept you going up when EoC touched you, negating the bounce, i think
ooh yes, what about feather falling but you hold down the down button when the slime is going up?

I'm actually pretty pumped you're doing some more mythbusters; as much as I adore the challenge run videos I think the mythbusters is a wider demonstration of your knowledge and mastery of Terraria. Keep up the great work!
Hey, love your videos, just a little something: would it be possible to keep the comment asking the current myth displayed on screen in some corner, as long as it doesn't hide any important visuals? Sometimes my brain gets too easily distracted with bad short term memory

Myth: By taking an etherian mana with one character, leaving, joining with a different character, completing the old one's army event (wait for the white flash) , then joining back with the original character, you can keep an etherian mana crystal.
You might need a third character so that the Event doesn't deactivate from no-one paying attention to it.
@@perodactyl490 you can join with character 2 before leaving with char 1
The crystals dissappear if observed while the event is not in progress. This can be seen by stashing the mana in a chest during the event. If the chest is left closed, and opened on a future run of the event, the mana will still be there. If the chest is opened while the event is not in progress, the mana will be vanish. This can be useful as you can hoard mana (quick stacking once there is at least one), then start the event and summon a huge number of sentries and watch as even Betsy melts under their barrage.

since chaos state damage deals 1/7 of your max health, if your max hp is only one it deals 0 damage

Myth: Golf balls can activate logic gates.
When i started playing terraria and didnt knew which evil should i choose i always used random and got coruption over 20 times in a row
Myth: If you give any thowable item like a bomb a prefix, and then stack it onto more bombs, it can give the whole stack of items the prefix.
Oh, and you can legitimately obtain a bomb with the Large prefix from Terraria mobile's old tutorial world.

I finally have a myth after watching the whole series twice! That being: You can not use the rod of discord to get in the jungle temple or while already within the jungle temple. The wiki said something about this on the temples page but it wasn't very comprehensive.

Myth: Using defense and defensive items, the player can take less than 1 thousand damage from a Daytime EOL
idk if this counts, but using any items that make you have a chance to miss a hit (hallow armour for example) does work!

Myth: on a not the bees world combined with for the worthy, skeleton prime can kill him self by causing bees to spawn with explosive bombs

For spawning the Moon Lord and the pillars, does it only summon when in a certain range? If not why not kill the cultists with some traps while off screen?
The amount of time, ingenuity and dedication put into each one of these episodes is amazing.
6:27 To test it you could instead try killing so many mobs in 1 shot that you get multiple multipliers with normal luck.

Hey there :) wanted to give some insight on the Crimson-Corruption odds myth. I'm not a statistician, but I do know something or other (and if I made any big mistakes, someone can correct me).
If we were to assume that crimson and corruption are a fixed 50/50 odds, that would mean the expected value of Corruption maps would be 150. The probability of getting 142 or lower in a pure 50/50 setting would be equivalent to P(getting 142) + P(getting 141) + ... + P(getting 0). The probability of getting a single number N would be 300CN * (1/2)³⁰⁰ in which C is the binomial coefficient. So we'd have (1/2)³⁰⁰ times whatever the sum of [300Cn] with n going from 0 to 142 is. That would be the probability of getting your results if the odds of each biome were a pure 50% chance. And I've calculated them using Wolfram Alpha to be ≈19.33%. So, if this was a pure 50% chance, your odds would be possible, but not probable. On the other hand, if it was a 45% chance, as it is said to be, it'd be ≈80.81% to get your results (or lower).
We'd need more tests to make sure, but the statistics do suggest that this bias towards crimson still exists.

the way the dungeon guardian works is basically by replacing all dungeon spawns*.
as npc spawns in terraria happen to be quite random, you would probably need to try it quite a lot of times to find out whether or not peace candles actually do anything.
but given that they reduce spawn rates, they probably should.
Wow, I did NOT expect that ending! The magical thing that prevents meteors from hitting sword shrines is... their shape!

I made the Confection rebaked and Depths mod (both alternate biomes mod for 1.3) and having been in the code I can say that the random evil selection is a 50/50 chance of getting either curruption or crimson
myth:if the hook of dissonance is cannot reach the hook point due to blocks, then when you break those blocks it will function like a normal hook
I actually had the sword shrine itself spawn on the surface for me in my most recent playthrough so unless there is something that prevents them from getting struck it is possible for it to get hit if a meteor lands next to it
Myth:golf balls have a limit of how fast they can go,after a certain speed, they despawn
If projectile limit is almost reached, Vilethorn will shoot single projectile that will fly until new projectile will appear (I tested it, so I know how it works)
Also Flails are counted as projectiles even if you are spinning it around you (Why is it projectile?)
(all summons too, weapons or "equipment" summons, it is all projectiles)
Myth: you can grapple between two ramp blocks facing opposite the player. Ramp block is made by hammering twice on say dirt.

It’d be unlikely, but possible
once in my calamity world, a meteor fell into the sword shrine, which had two more to the left and right of it, but i previously expanded the way down to two blocks, even with this it stopped on the middle of the mineshaft, so its probably impossible to naturally fall
That thumbnail actually happened to me. Once I did have a meteor hit a sword shrine. Unfortunately the shrine had a fake sword.
This was just last week btw.
I was playing modded 1.3.5.3: Thorium, Weapon Out, Magic Storage, Recipe Viewer, What Mod is This From, Boss Cursor, Boss Healthbar, Calamity Music, and that's it.
None of those mods affect the way meteors fall.

The orange zapinator being able to kill the dungeon guardian actually isn’t completely improbable. The zapinator has a base damage of 100, and since it gets multiplied by 10 for each boost, you would only need 2 boosts to get it up to 10,000 damage, which is enough to break past the guardian’s 9,999 defense (which reduces around 4,999.5 damage in classic mode). It has a 1/50 chance to multiply the damage for every hit, so to get two in a row, that’s about a 1/2,500 chance. That’s still pretty rare, but seeing that we have items like the slime staff that are 1/10,000, it’s still perfectly possible. If you wanted to actually one-shot it, you could reach over 200 base damage with the right buffs and equipment (or you could increase the critical strike chance to over 100% for the same effect). With these, you’d be doing 20,000 damage, well over the amount required to kill the dungeon guardian with a single shot.
Going further, the zapinator’s use time is 37, so if you were to just shoot repeatedly until you got it, it would take about 25-26 minutes on average (plus probably a few minutes or so since you’d have to have frame perfect clicks to get a time that low). I don’t know what the highest attack speed increase is, but you could probably get the use time under 30, which would only take an average of 20-21 minutes or less.
So in conclusion, not only is doing more than 1 damage to the dungeon guardian plausible, but it’s also not too unlikely, and could very much happen in-game!
(Also I know people have already found ways with other weapons to increase their damage enough to kill it in a single hit, but something about doing with the orange zapinator just feels way funnier to me)
I had a meteor land down a corruption tunnel once. Basically just had bits of it replacing the sides of the tunnel.

I peeked at the code for the dungeon guardian one - the game just hard sets the spawn rate to some fixed value after all the factors (candles, potions) are calculated.
Myth: making the entire world surrounded in an outline of wood, and having the entire center be walls with doors and a chair and a table can make a house for the entire world
Nope, houses have maximum tile sizes. It won't recognize it as valid housing. 750 tiles is the max size for a single NPC to occupy.
