- Cuts are never easy, and each candidate handles the end of her time at Training Camp differently. Some keep their emotions bottled up, but these candidates - and, sometimes, even Kelli and Judy - couldn’t help but let the tears flow.

Hundreds audition, but only a select group will secure spots in the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders training camp. DCC director Kelli Finglass and head choreographer Judy Trammell oversee the intense audition process and decide which hopefuls will make the team.

I admire all of the rest of the cheerleaders who wait for their teammates no matter how late it is or how exhausted they are.
Too bad Meredith wasn't able to get that because of COVID.
When they cut Victoria, and she HELD HER HEAD UP HIGH and said “I’m coming back and use this time to grow” I knew she meant it ! She came back and didn’t have one office visit ! She now a veteran 🙏🏽💯💯👏🏽 AND YES SHE DID OWN IT
Meredith gave it her all, last year, she got out danced by the other new rookies that were in the other room. She didn’t know the routines, she kept getting lost and confused. Her memory was off focus.
Victoria = THAT is how you leave. Don’t give those bitches the satisfaction of seeing you cry! Don’t beg or plead or grovel. Hold your head high and walk out proud and strong. And if you want to come back, come back so much better and stronger that you’re kicking ass and taking names.

The dance world is about rejection. It's real life. If you were running a business on national spotlight wouldn't you want the very best representing your brand ? Yes you would.

Julia was trying to make tears come out but dry as a bone. Then gave guilt trip “I’m gonna call my mom” and having to say “I’m so sad” instead of just BEING sad.

I commend Victoria coming back and owning it. She grew tremendously.
I know - Victoria is honestly one of the strongest performers on the squad and I think if she sticks around long enough she'll end up as point of the triangle.

I hate watching Julia’s cut, she was not crying at ALL, she was just putting on a performance.. and she kept saying DCC was her dream when it was purely to further herself in her career
RIGHT!!! I've rewarded her cut many times and never once did i see a tear leave her dry little eyes

She is a person who is use to getting her way. You can tell. Every time I see this cut I cringe at how full of crap she is!!!
Meredith was a very gentle soul and a great technical dancer. However, Kelli passed up a lot of rookies that did dance better. Even up until the end, Meredith struggled before the announced the team roster. I am glad Meredith was able to have the year of experience on the team, but it was hers to lose this season. Even in a commentary, she mentions that training camp is used for “catch up” and that’s not necessarily the case. After being on the team a full year, she should have been better prepared to defend her spot and show improvement. (Just my thoughts)
I do think Kelli and Judy showed a lot of favoritism to Meredith her rookie year.
I got the feeling that Meredith didn't practice and thought she'd stay on the team because she was a vet. I don't care how good you are, you still have to practice because there are girls who may not be as good but will practice until they're blue to surpass the talent.
I agree they showed favoritism and I think it hurt her more emotionally in the end. She's absolutely stunning and I think that played a big part in it. And I don't blame them... they do make a lot of money in terms of their looks and people spending money on events, merchandise, etc that has them on them. They need to be as visually appealing as possible. But the rookies this year made it impossible for her to stay. She would be an amazing Rockette. I hope she's not done dancing.
True but at least they turned it around by not admitting her back to the team because then it would be way too obvious
There was something going around that she had connections with important people involved with the cowbows, like she was somebody's niece or something, and that's why she made the team. I do feel like she was shown a lot of favoritism because she didn't get it down until the very last week of training camp her first year and she still made it. They cut a lot of more talented dancers for a lot less and babied her the whole time. But you can tell this year it was way too obvious and the judges had higher expectations of her and she's barely meeting the normal level of expectations. She shouldn't have made it in the first place.
Victoria’s cut was hard because how can you tell your mom you weren’t good enough this year...
Victoria worked so hard - watching her get cut I was crying too but she came back so much stronger in S14 and she owned it!
I don't think Victoria's cut was about her dancing and performing. It was more about her weight, irresponsibility and uncooperative attitude. Her Mother probably woke her up w/ a good lecture. The next season she seemed like she really matured mentally.

@@jaehaspels9607 Exactly!!!!! Victoria's cut had nothing to do with dance. Everyone knows Victoria can dance. Victoria was cut because of her lack of maturity and also her age. Victoria was 18 and in still in high school when she tried out. She was still a baby. She needed to grow. You could tell throughout the season that Kelli didn't think that Victoria was gonna be this problematic. She didn't think she would be constantly talking to her or she would have to be calling her into the office frequently. Victoria needed to grow up.
I wouldn’t really consider Julia’s cut “tear filled” her tears aren’t there it’s almost like she’s trying to cry and act upset but it’s not real 🥴
Malena had a emotional breakdown, she was very upset, with the outcome of getting cut on the last day of training camp. She needed more dance classes.
Sadly it doesn't look like she made any improvements from that season. She reauditioned and was still a mess on the dance floor. It was strange that she was shocked she didn't get picked for the next training camp.
In my opinion, this cut was sooooo unfair when Meredith remained. This cut had me very worried for her (Melania) mental health.
Julia makes me cringe. Not a single tear to mar that perfect makeup. Even Malina's awkward meltdown was genuine and honest. Julia was just fake.
When Victoria said "it's okay" to Kelli, that really touched my heart.

Victoria's cut was really really hard. Kelli loves her so much. I personally think it hurt Kelli more than it hurt Victoria. I think Kelli didn't want it to affect their relationship. Kelli and Victoria have a relationship outside of this show and outside of DCC. These two are family. Victoria and Kelli's daughter are friends. Tina and Kelli are best friends. Victoria came back so strong the next year. She even made show group. I see Victoria being a group leader and maybe point some day. I hope Dayton comes back at some point. She is so gorgeous and her body is amazing. She is thick. If Dayton comes back she will be a showstopper. I like Meredith but I just think she doesn't have the DCC style. Meredith has never been trained in cheer. Meredith is more lyrical, contemporary, ballet. The girls who are on the team have done some form of cheer or pom before coming to DCC. Some of done it in high school and college. Some have even been captain of their teams. Meredith has no experience with cheer or pom hence the reason why it is so foreign to her. Its like she's learning a new language. I like Meredith but I don't think DCC is for her
I kinda like Victoria but she defo got priveleges in both her Trainingcamps. She will become group leader probably her 4th year but point? Idk, that depends on what girls are on the team at that point. (Like Kelcey, Amanda, maybe even Kat if she gets a Mia glow up, Claire, Elli, Darian and Dani)
@@EmVee. Victoria didn't get privileges in training camp. If she got privileges then why did she grt cut the first time. She was so privileged she would've made the team on her first try. Kelli wasn't having it with her and immaturity. Victoria had a very childish mentality and she needed to do a lot of growing up. I said maybe she'll be point. I don't know if Kat could be point. Kat has a long way to go before she can even be considered point. She has a long way to go before before she can even be considered group leader or a second group leader.
@@RealTalk1411 Sorry but any other girl that would have done 10% of what VK did in 2018 TC would have been cut right away and basically blacklisted.
She got away with weight gain with Kitty Carter saying they should respect her and give her time to tone up while she would say to cut others for the same reason. She got away with ignoring help from Jinelle.
I like her but we should not act like she didnt get favoured, just like Cassie tbh. It is not really a big deal since this happens in every branche
@@EmVee. I agree she was given multiple chances and she messed up every one of them. Victoria had a know-it-all attitude. She felt she didn't any help from anyone to make this team. Cassie was serious favoritism. She got way too many privileges just for being Judy's daughter. She did not deserve show group nor did she deserve group leader. I'm surprised they never gave her point. Cassie was way overhyped and overrated.
@@RealTalk1411 that's what I was thinking, Cassie got away with a lot. If I remember rightly when Cassie was injured and it was start of a new season the judges asked Kelly if it was another vet coming during finals would they (Kelly and Charlotte) let that vet in, Kelly replied NO, so for me Cassie got favors just because she (Cassie) IS Judy's daughter.
Meredith shouldn’t have made it the first time and I will stand by that.
So will I. I also think the way they linked her with Lily, acting like they were equal with nothing to split them, was really dirty on Lily.
I missed this past season so I had no idea that she was cut. But I’m not surprised I’ve always thought she only made it bc she had the “look” of a dcc but that’s all.
They took 37 the year she made it.... they always say "36" Meredith would have been an EASY last cut.

It has been alternately said that a relative was friends with Jerry Jones or a high ranking exec, her boyfriend's dad was friends with high exec or Jerry Jones
@@thetruthhasconsequences58 I can see that… if you notice over the year a lot of DCC have come from her hometown Plano, TX in the olden days a lot of cowboy players, execs, DCC members are from Plano

Dayton most likely won’t come back I think. Idk if it’s just me but I felt like her tears when leaving was for her mom because her mom be disappointed she couldn’t live the DCC experience especially since her mom works for the cowboys. But I have to say this girl is gorgeous she got curves and an very exotic looking face very unique to any of the girls
Dayton isn't going to come back. From what I know she's been working on a cruise ship (obviously not right now, but before covid at least I think that's what she was doing).
I dont know HOW kelli does it, i could not be the one to crush these girls dreams whove worked so hard to just have it be cut short :(

Dayton being cut was the hardest to watch for me..
It would be cool to see them get cut and then in the next clip have them when they made the team. So girls that have gotten cut but made the team later. 💙
I breaks my heart watching so many young talented women leave. I know after getting to watch this show that it teaches women to feel strong, confident, and to become future leaders. I hope they all went back and tried again.

The year before didn't have as strong a group of girls auditioning, she essentially got lucky last year and that is where you see the ladies on the team who wouldn't normally make it. Just sad this didnt happen when Amy from Rockford Hills auditioned 😢

Meredith’s veteran cut. It wasn’t a surprise. But she showed that she wanted it. It’s hard to see her go. “It doesn’t feel real” she couldn’t believe it. That had to be dreadful for Kelli and Judy too.

@@thetruthhasconsequences58 but to have to follow their mom's in this has to be brutal. they were not anywhere as rough on the girls as they are now. so having to try to live up to mom-not a good thing.i think Kelly is smart. she had her baby girl concentrate on school, and not on cheer leading. kelly was supposedly a star she didnt even have to audition. i cant imagine the pressure the daughters. look at all the flack Cassie got. it had to be very hard on both her and Judy. i actually hope Dayton finds her place in the world, and doesnt ever feel the need to compete or live up to someone else. she is amazing just like she is.

it's excruciating for these girls. Their dream is to be a DCC.. They hold onto it tight. When they're told 'This is your last night' the reality sets in. They need to hear Kelli and Judy say those words or they can't accept it. So hard watching their dreams get crushed. I have the greatest respect for Kelli and Judy in how delicately they tell them its over.

Yes, I don’t know why but Julia’s reaction to being cut was kinda weird. I liked her but there was something about her reaction and the way she acted that made me feel a bit unease. Can’t tell you exactly what 🤷🏻♀️

Excalty, I remember rightly during one season Cassie was injured during an tour of dcc and during finals one judges, asked Kelly if that was another vet or rookie would they allow that candidate to join making training camp 🏕 and Kelly answered no. So therefore Cassie got a favour just because she Judy's daughter
nepotism runs the DCC, there’s so many girls who had little things slide or made the team because their mothers were cheerleaders for the organization and were super close to kelli and judy, cassie’s case was so extreme and ridiculous but they’ll always deny it lol
@@ana.medina Well Kelli was THERE at the hospital when Victoria was BORN, and was for a time very close to her mom, and yet Victoria was cut the first time. I am still mad (jk) over Dalton: she looked lovely!
You could make a part 2 of this easy with some of the older seasons. I just watched season 5 again and dang there were some rough cuts.
I still don’t get how Julia was cut but Meredith wasn’t when Julia only came into the office the last night which was this scene, when Meredith still couldn’t get the choreography and style

Dayton’s cry hurt me so bad
Glad this posted earlier in the week. Sad Monday's are better than sad Friday's. Hope Victoria can find a way if she still has the passion. Maybe a choreographer that pushes her to go faster and to grow noticeably. Also, wondering if her mom has input. More Mom support and input if that applies. She's a pretty girl and her solo was beautiful!
Victoria came back the next season and was the strongest rookie in her season, and made the team! She's now a second-year vet!

Some of these cuts were heartbreaking and, begging for a second chance, some were incredibly awkward. That said, and not meaning to be rude, I was sure Milena was on the verge of a nervous breakdown. The anxiety, stress, and pressure on these women must bring them to a breaking point.

I love Kelly but I don't have a lot of sympathy for her feelings when cutting Meredith. If she would have listened to everyone else in the world and not put her on in the first place when she was incredibly unqualified, she wouldn't have had to cut her as a veteran.
The Owner was close to her boyfriend so he told them not to cur her

Cutting was the best thing for Dayton as she is far above the rest in class and she really didn’t want this anyway! Her mom pushed her. She was to good for them. She is much happier now!

I went to tunefind as well and they don't even have this show on their page. Dayton didn’t know the routines, it was hard for her to understand how to learn them in a short amount of time. She wanted to make the team on her own, not because of who her mom is.

@@Megalee-us7pm Dayton's mom is Shelly Bramhall. Shelly was a DCC back in the day. She cheered with Kelli, Judy and Tina Kalina, Victoria's mom. Shelly is also one of the assistant choreographers for DCC. She also teaches the DCC Intensive Workshops.
