Hundreds audition, but only a select group will secure spots in the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders training camp. DCC director Kelli Finglass and head choreographer Judy Trammell oversee the intense audition process and decide which hopefuls will make the team.

They didn’t do any favors giving Meredith so many passes last season, she’ll expect the same treatment and it’ll hurt her when she doesn’t get it this season and she’s cut without them going out of their way to help her make the team.

I agree. Is she talented, yes. Is she beautiful, and in uniform, yes. Is she a polished, consistent, accurate, confident dancer? Being a veteran that's still up for question as a first year.
As a veteran Meredith should not be playing catch-up, it is ridiculous she even saying that! And to be honest, she should have been cut last season.
Her boyfriend knows Jerry Jones and he told Kelly and Judy not to cut her last year.
You can tell how much Armani needed to hear that she was good. I cant wait until she makes point, she deserves it

When it comes to Meradeth I blame Kelly and Judy. She should have never of made the team period. They have done nothing but passes her along giving her a uniform she never earned. And her response with oh well it training camp yeah yeah I make mistakes. She knows she doesn't care. She's waiting for them to pass her along last last year. I dont like her attitude didnt last year and dont this year.
Yes! She was mediocre in technique, but because she looked great on screen and in uniform they kept pushing her through. She didn't get better at all between last season and this season.

Well I would think she wouldve made some huge improvements between a year. These rookies are coming for dancers like meridith!!! That are already so talented. Judy who cares if you have a girl crush on her, that choice is making the team look mediocre, at best.

I agree 💯. She’s my favorite of the rookies!! She’s beautiful, talented, and extremely poised. A couple of veterans (cough, cough, Meredith ) could learn a lot from her. Armani, to me, is DCC 101.

Absolutely!! Even if she wasn’t a good dancer, that teacher sounds like a total ass. There’s other ways to tell people they aren’t the best that they could be :/

As if we needed another reason to Love Armani! I know she will make the team and I am so happy for her. She was already amazing, but after Kellie's pep talk, the vets better look out! Go Armani!

Meredith *~BARELY~* made the team last year so her attitude coming back as a Vet thinking she can slide by, & “play catch up” during training camp is ludicrous.

Raise the bar, that is the DCC way. Meredith is sweet but she still reminds me of that scared rookie, not very confident and consistent with performance and looks worse. I think that she's in her head too much. We can be our worst critique and if we don't learn to use that fear and rise up we can fade out.

This is telling for why their reasons for Hannah’s cut is not correct because they’re reason for Meredith being cut is “not being as great as last year.” Like when was Meredith always great???!!! I’m not saying she did horrible but every episode of last season she had mistakes after mistakes also looking at how she was at game days she always off on counts or forgot choreo
Hannah was kind of dancing lazy in my opinion. She didn't have the fire required.

They keep saying Hannah hasn’t been noticed by judges but when you see 13:07 she’s got 3 ‘noticed’ dots on her photo? Bizarre
Armani has no dots so it could mean something else because we do know Armani is noticed all the time also Elli, Darian, Sydney and Jessica have no dots
Well, my opinion is that Hannah wasn’t actually cut because she wasn’t getting noticed. She was very vocal about her concerns regarding the filming production and they weren’t being safe.
@@DuchessKitty yeah if you read her Instagram post the implication is she was cut for being outspoken, will be interesting to see how they try and present it in the show though, bet they make it out that it’s because of dance

Armani is not only extremely talented in dance, but also so genuine. I get such good vibes from her and she is GORGEOUS. I’d love to see her as the point in the future.

3:10 - "This batch of new girls is stronger than any batch of new girls they have ever had before." - Travis Wall. I don't think this is a coincidence. I think the virtual initial tryout meant that girls who might not have tried out before tossed their hat in the ring. I think this is proof that this more humane and financially equitable process can produce a great (perhaps the best) team.
Again, I love the show for the drama and I get the other process might have been better for it but...I don't know. I really hope they keep some of the elements of this new process (like keeping the girls in a hotel until the final team is formed) even when the pandemic is over. I think not having to worry about so many of the logistic issues is also probably benefiting the rookies as they have more time to focus on learning.

Wow, you make an interesting point. I never thought about the virtual tryout being more feasible for people because they didn't have to spend money on the trip to Texas and it didn't take up as much time.

Meredith is stunning, beauty wise. But that’s no reason to keep her if her dancing is worse than last year. It’s sad but it’s life.
Meredith isn't ugly by any means, but there are others girls equally beautiful. She's a great dancer, yet not with the DCC style. Maybe broadway??

I love seeing Kelsey with a full set of stickers, she was definitely one of the strongest rookies last year (with Amanda)
I was curious to know how many stickers they were allowed to give out. It was maybe 10 from each guest. They definitely didn’t give out 36.

On her defense I have watched random DCC cheer videos present and recent and I have noticed slight mistakes. She isn’t the only one. Unfortunately it’s continuous on her part. :-( and I always love the underdog

Honestly Hanna is strong when she wants to be. I don’t think she should be cut. But yes Meredith has to go. She was never preforming like the other vets.these rookies are definitely out dancing her. I don’t get why they’re on the fence about cutting veterans, especially low tier ones like Meredith, who even admitted she was still behind on the choreography after a year on the team. “That’s what training camp is for.” No, Sis, not when you’re a veteran. It’s perfectly reasonable to have higher expectations from veterans who know what it takes, and to cut veterans if they’re being outdanced by rookies. You take the top 36, period. She had a year to prove her potential and still fell short. ✂️✂️✂️✂️
The bird in hand principle. A low tier veteran with known capabilities vs a shiny new rookie who may burn out in week 1.
@@amyx231 Yes, but Meredith’s capabilities were far below even the weakest training camp candidate. I don’t think it’s unfair to have high expectations for veterans. She had a year on the team and showed no improvement.

I despise hearing that coaches/teachers/trainers tell young hopefuls that “you’ll never make it”.... it’s even more insulting when those same coaches aren’t generally actively performing themselves! I wish that young ladies understood what that statement really means. It’s not that ‘you’ll never make it’, that statement should actually be interpreted as “you’ll never make it with me as your coach”.

Yes - so true!!!! A person in my family is always telling me "you will NEVER be good at what you want to do. Do what I want you to pursue"...and YET - I am FINALLY pursuing my own dreams and goals.
I totally agree. I had a Psych professor tell me almost 30 years ago I should not go onto grad school b/c I wasn’t doing well in her class. I said, “Screw you. I am going to show you & prove you wrong!” I went on to get my Master’s & working as a Licensed Therapist in the state of CA.

It should be pretty obvious the rookies are stronger this season due to there being an online submission as the " first round" especially for those who are not in the place to travel unless they have a better chance if that makes sence.
It will be interesting if they will keep the online portion moving forward into other seasons...

I hadn't thought about the stronger rookies being due to it being virtual, but yeah, I think you're right. It will be interesting to see if they continue to do auditions this way.
I Hope they do. Why torture everyone learning dances including the audience? Hopefully this forever changes the process.

@@kyzerbobyzer7053 I think that’s where they are ranking. The people on the bottom are the lowest scoring for that day, but can still theoretically work their way up. It’s like a dance moms pyramid - they’re ranked from best to worst
Armani is such a beautiful soul. I absolutely love her. She has been my favorite since Day 1. She's so cute and adorable. She has a fun loving personality. That was horrible thing that her dance teacher told her. That she would not get very far with her dance career. Ppl should be very careful what they say to others. Those words will stay with them for the rest of their lives and they will always constantly replay it in their heads. Just by Armani tearing up shows that those words still hurt. I'm proud of Armani that she was able to overcome what this woman said. She is certainly proving her wrong. She is gonna make that dance teacher eat her words when she becomes point of the triangle. The ultimate achievement of the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders. I also love how supportive the veterans and the other rookie candidates were. It just shows that DCC is truly a sisterhood and more importantly, a family.

Hannah should have been given a pass based on previous performance even if it had dwindled because when you are in finals or project week that’s tunnel vision for some and not everyone can multitask. That is your professional career that is going to last a lot longer than your professional dance body could last.
Armani i don't know if you will ever see this comment but your spot on with your counts in every dance, your incredibly fun to watch all the time . You can hold your own and your smile is amazing.

TBH until they called her in I didn’t notice she was even there. Truth is she wasn’t as good or even stood out. After anyone gets fired they try to switch the narrative so the responsibility isn’t all on them.
@@PrincessNarz There is always two sides to every story but the office conversation seemed edited. She was probably stressed because they made them move into a hotel and devote more time to DCC when they have full time jobs and school. Idk who really knows the truth but something is fishy.
@@amandajs21 don’t disagree there are two sides. But more than one guest has raised concerns about Hannah. I don’t really believe Hannah. If she was so concerned about COVID she wouldn’t go to end of summer parties, especially without a mask 🤷🏼♀️

@@rubyrebel4957 Hannah posted on her Instagram that she, and others, were cut for speaking out about safety and COVID protocol. It was confirmed by other cheerleaders. They focused more on the show than safety.

When the girls were standing around outside the dance room, cheering on Armani, they were standing close to each other without their masks. Additionally, you can see always when they enter the room, some are in the process of putting their masks on. These are small clues that they were NOT following the guidelines throughout training camp, and Hannah's concerns about safety (that she wrote about on her social media) had a basis. I love this show a lot, but clearly there is a lot going on behind the scenes, that is not edited into the final televised footage.
okay... i see your point of view but people are going to live theri lives how they want life must go on. also they have covid testing three times a week ! they are together in a bubble and there is no way for any of the girls to get covid unless they go to one of these covid parties 🙄.
@@aj_neymar54 thank you. People are really trying to control others’ lives. They get tested in a Bubble in a humongous hotel for only them.
@@ginamcneal4435 from an ICU nurse, this “bubble” concept is almost laughable. You can test negative for almost a week while carrying and spreading the virus. They also did not explicitly say they tested every girl before they entered this bubble, only temp checks. What about the hotel staff? Did they go home every night? There is no guarantee of safety, wear your mask. It’s a common practice during flu season in hospitals because it works if done properly.
Are their guidelines perfect, no. But, look at all the trouble, expense and time they are putting into reducing the risk. Th girls are being tested, they are isolated within the hotel. The only way to completely stop the spread is to completely isolate. But, putting n some safety measures is a responsible course of action.
Gina McNeal apparently the entire crew for the tv show weren’t part of this ‘bubble’ so covid could have easily got in

@@TheNonMakeupGuru not when training camp was only two weeks that year. In every other year training camp was at least eight weeks so she could have gotten through crunch time and come back stronger. So you wanted her to pass up an entire year for two weeks of crunch time? I had the same scenario. I was working full time and taking biostatistics and during my finals and projects for two weeks told my husband he might need to compensate more on household duties. But that was only two weeks out of 52. They should have given Hannah a pass given her strong performances the TWO years before. They did give some people the opportunity to do a one day audition; maybe she should have taken it. And the Covid protocol was NOT safe. In order to avoid any cases every one would have had to quarantine away from everyone else for 14 days, and that didn’t happen.
I was wondering myself if Meredith even cheered last year. You would think that performing for the season would have improved her even a little and it didn’t. From what I have seen she is worse this year than she was last year. Last year she didn’t have the DCC style, but she was a beautiful classically trained dancer. This year she isn’t either one

I was rooting for Armani from the second I saw her dance. She’s beautiful, sweet and extremely talented. Having KELLI FINGLASS say that she’s fantastically fun, fun to watch, and that compliment she gave Armani, was just beautiful to witness. You know you can dance when even Kelly is impressed!

It's painful but I agree, you gotta make tough cuts! Even vets! This has been a top tier team and anyone bringing less than that, needs to go! You've always supported that model.

Meredith has great technique. When she said it is okay to play catch-up it she lost me. I honestly feel bad because she is setup to fail because she can’t do any of the choreography as well another girls. The rookies are doing better then her that is sad. Also I blame Judy and Kelly making her believe that she is cowboy cheerleader potential. It is hurting her confidence.

Meredith was nothing more than a pretty face last year and she still has the same problem this year. They will reach and reach to keep a pretty girl who isn’t a good enough dancer but will cut good dancers who don’t have “the look” 🙄

@@redd-iveee4400 maybe but I doubt it I work in the dance industry their are tons of skinny blonde/brunette white girls. I just wish they would be more open when it comes to that part. One year they sent a girl home because she was “built too stocky” they raved about her dancing that was the only thing wrong and I think that was ridiculous.

Going back through this season before this new ones airs tonight and just wanted to say I hope Hannah came back. She dealt with chronic depression as you stated before and she clearly has an empathic soul to her and the quarantine was getting to her emotionally. I hope she was able to heal over her break and returns to audition. Also if Meredith or Lilly return I’ll have major respect for them chasing their dreams again.
