I never had children. As someone who was heavily involved in music as a child it's a bittersweet moment to watch this kind of performance. I am sure there are limited memories in life that can compare with watching your own child perform something they've worked so hard on. And to know that you were the person that raised them.
This is a great piece of music. I just love all the orchestration and Andrea's phrasing. The build up in the last minute or so is just fantastic. I just love how it switches to just Andrea's vocal then back to the orchestra, then her big note at the end culminating with her trumpet ditty at the last. Wow! This is my favorite ending of all time. Just amazing.

Edward Sanchez: I was able to talk with Mr Chamorro in San Diego a while back when he was there with Andrea. He was very approachable and very easy to talk to. A very kind man. It was probably an hour into their performance before I realized the piano player was blind.
@@natalyv84 It's a fact, Ignasi Terraza, is blind. Did you know he has a degree in classical music, as well as a degree in computer science? He mentioned having to learn all the classical piano works in Braille, as well as memorize all the notes and arrangements....no small feat! I'm still at a loss as how one could learn computer science with such a challenge. A true genius. for sure!

Joan Chamorro gave credit to every single musician who contributed to this. I say hallelujah, it's about time musicians got the credit they so richly deserve. When you see the credits on a feature film everybody but the janitor gets a name credit. Every single musician deserves to have his or her name on the credit just as much as the second best boy or whatever. R E S P E C T! Again, you go Joan--and Andrea continues to spin her magic as always.
One of may good things about this school is that it managed to make their students support each other in their strive for artistry. This naturally must be accompanied by credits. And you have that in every video they present. It helped me to track back a number of people in just few days. The fact that we bother to comment on it sheds more light on the rest of the world than on Joan and the school.

This is what heaven must look like. The Palau de la Musica where I saw the Berlin symphony with Herbert von Karajan in 1974 while a student Medicine, play Beethoven’s 5 symphony. Now this fantastic group of Joan Chamorro and Andrea Motis, what a talent.... I live in Miami but I have in my wish list to be able to be present in one their concerts. They’d are all truly talented. Chamorro must be proud of what he has achieved...a world class group.
What surprises me is that only about a week ago looking for the " night and day " song that I love ❤️ dearly from diferente interpretations, I came across Magali Datzira and said to myself, wherever have I been to miss this material ? They are all very, very good, it is years and years of hard work, I have been now for 3 or 4 listening to their work and, suggest apart from the one I mentioned before, listen also " Moody's. Mood for love "

Little did I know I would be blown away by what a certain Joan Chamorro "and company" had produced when I wasn't looking. Already well acquainted with Bossa Nova and why this was MY music. Choking on my toast when I heard the first bars of Solitude . What IS this ! After that fateful morning not a day has gone by that I didn't play some numbers from Joan's stable.

Andrea's always having that contagious smile and looks so happy and sparkling when she's performing. You can tell at once that she loves what she's doing and it comes across to the audience in the music she's producing. I thank Joan Chamorro for the gift he's given us by tutoring her and all other young musicians he's taken under his wing. It is of course a great gift to them as well, but I'm sure he can feel their gratitude in the beauty of the music they make.

I discovered them today (Christmas Day) - and what a discovery. Just cannot stop listening. Made my Christmas very special. So thankful to these fantastic musicians. She is not an extremely talented instrumentalist and vocalist - but so very cute to boot. Absolutely love this music and simply cannot get enough.

I think the whole arrangement here is magnificent: the orchestra, my now favorite pianist (I get a challenge out of listening for his contra melodies in the left register) and of course Andrea who just melts my heart every time I watch her sing. Thanks so much for posting. I can't get enough.
