    covers "Country Roads," "Elvira," "Listen to the music," "working for a living," and of coarse "Butts melody (remix)" a nice round mix sampling of Home Free to start you off. can't forget to add Adam Rupp's "Drum Solo" (this was live. so use the older one with the most views, it has the best video and sound quality.)

    You need to "feel" Tim the bass at one of Home Free's shows to really appreciate how low his bass is.

  • @patrickdevine1085
    @patrickdevine1085 Год назад +3

    You have to go back and listen again to Tim’s bass solo again because almost every one misses the fact the Adam Chance at the very end of the solo drops down a full octave below where Tim is singing. Check it out the better you sound system or speakers are the better you can hear it.

  • @randyfergus8781

    Tim is a true basso profundo with an effective range of 5 octaves. He actually sings a tenor part on their cover of Mayday. The singer in the back roe on the left is Chance, their baritone who is capable of virtually the same bottom end as Tim but falls short of the same upper range. He also is the one responsible for the "jaw harp" sound at the beginning and end of the song. My wife and I have seem them live twice and they're every bit as awesome on stage. I highly recommend their cover of Crosby, Stills, and Nash"s "Helplessly Hoping" and their cover of "American Pie" done WITH Don McLean at his request to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the song's release.

      Oh, I agree. I think the arrangement of "Do you hear what I hear" by Adam Rupp is absolutely fantastic and so complex. And Helplessly Hoping, which i think was Chance. I also like the arrangements of their mashups. Often, they are collaborations with guys from the other acapella groups...Voice Play etc. Great reaction. You are one of the few reactors who noticed the octave drop by Tim after his solo. Sooo amazing.

      And I love his warm chocolatey blanket voice, especially in his solo "If I Could Only Fly"! OMG!! ❤

  • @marshac7738
    @marshac7738 Год назад

    Home Free is the best--period. It's easy to forget they are completely acapella and make all "instrumental" sounds themselves.
    In this song they are making a distinct southern (country blues) presentation--it definitely fits the lyrics of the song. Chance doing the jaw harp sound really sets the stage for this song's story, which Austin's twang fits phenomenally. Tim's bass line completely grounds the harmonies and Adam's voice percussion simply cannot be beat. This performance highlights a lot of Home Free's strengths although they also handle ANY other genre just as amazingly❣️🎼🥰🎶❤️
    Some of my favorites are "Working for a Living", "Good 'Ol Country Harmony", "Land of the Free", "Remember This", "Elvira" (with the Oak Ridge Boys), "Undivided", "Ain't Goin' Down 'Til the Sun Comes Up" (which is not on YT--it's on their official Facebook page), "Listen to the Music", "What's Left of My Heart", "Understand", and "Road Sweet Road" 😍!

    You have just been introduced to the best a cappella group out there. These guys are all so talented. They lean towards country but they can do any genre. They all can take the lead depending on whos voice is best for the song. They are known for their tight harmonies. Tim Foust is one of the best bass singers out there & their beatboxer vocal percussionist Adam Rupp can simulate any sound. This song is very old & is done in the bluegrass country style. It was used in the movie "Oh Brother Where Art Thou" starring George Clooney.

    Home Free is incredible. Everything they do is great. And although they are a Country A-cappela group, they can really sing all genres. They really all have great voices with their own specialties. Even Adam Rupp who started the group with his brother Chris Rupp. Chris left the group in 2016 to go solo but also to start other projects with his sister, among others.
    Adam Rupp-Beatboxer but is actually an inhuman freaking good mouth artist.
    Tim Foust- Deep bass but also as a tenor and everything in between is possible.
    Austin Brown-High tenor. Powerful with his great runs and high notes.
    Rob Lundquist (beard and glasses)-Tenor, with a voice like velvet and so much soul. So warm, so rich. A great whistler.
    Adam Chance (back left, who is called Chance) - Baritone/ Bass, a voice so smooth and sexy. And who here also makes the Jaw harp sound.
    There is no lead singer in Home Free. They look at every song whose voice suits it best, no egos, no rivalries, great personalities etc. Besides, they can all beatbox (see their live performance 9to5). ..
    This is one of the many covers they do in addition to various originals, and each one is just amazing.

    Home Free's fans are called Home Fries, that name started when they were on The Sing Off Season 4, which they won. We'll start with the high tenor Austin Brown who had the lead, however they hand the lead around. The tenor beard, glasses & overalls is Rob Lundquist. The bass who has a 5 octave range is Tim Foust. The baritone/bass that was making the mouth harp sound is Adam Chance. And the beatbox extraordinaire is Adam Rupp. If you liked hearing Tim's bass here, I highly suggest Brothers in Arms, or Misty Mountain with Peter Hollen, it'll blow your mind. Great reaction, & I promise if you continue down the Home Free rabbit hole, the Home Fries will come & sub because we absolutely love our guy's. Oh Home Free is the real deal. They won the NBC show the Sing Off and have been going strong ever since. They are country but sing all genres of music. They also write and sing their own songs. They can all sing and all take the lead depending on the song. Tim, the bass, has a 5 octave range so he can sing super low and then sing up with the tenors (not kidding). The beatboxer is crazy talented. Watch Adam Rupp Drum Solo (2015). It’s older but shows just him with the mike and doing drums….remarkable! They also don’t mind being silly as all get out. Christmas songs you might like Do You Hear What I Hear…beatboxer arranged it. Mary Did You Know, O Holy Night, are serious songs Full of Cheer, Cold Hard Cash are originals and funny. Enjoy the journey!!!!

    Thanks for the great reaction, now you're gonna get home fries all over the channel. :-) Obviously this was heavily arranged, mixed, produced in the studio with multiple tracks for the same singer. Adam would not be able to do drums and harmonica at the same time like that if it was live. But that doesn't make it any less a capella or any less impressive. It's amazing how they each master their craft and how well they blend together. And while the majority may be country, they still ventured successfully in many other genres. Besides the obvious recommendation for 'Ring of Fire', they also have some underrated songs. 'Can't stop the Feeling' and 'End of the Road' in particular deserve more praise and attention as far as I'm concerned. And from their own songs 'Cross that Bridge' will never go out of my playlist.

They can make you laugh sometimes, they can make you cry sometimes but they always impress. Here's a cheat sheet on the group: Adam Rupp, co-founder of HF and the awesome beatboxer. Tim Foust, bass. He has a five-octave range. Robb Lundquist (glasses and beard) Tenor Harmony. Austin Brown, Lead Tenor. Adam Chance, Baritone ( goes by Chance). Chance replaced Chris Rupp (co-founder) who left in 2016. Take Me Home Country Roads is phenomenal but you might also want to check out Dreamer, When A Man Loves A Woman, End Of The Road, One Man Band, I Swear, Blue Ain't Your Color, Dive Bar Saints and Folsom Prison Blues. Check out Home Free Drum Solo. The original is where Adam is in the red plaid shirt. Then watch the ones from 2021-22 to see how much he's improved. Yeah, things are on loop but that only for him to add more sounds to the mix. They did a great video for Dolly's 9 to 5. Watch the one with the office setting, then 9 to 5 + Beatboxing Breakdown. There's actually 2 versions of that one; Chris Rupp, in the red shirt, left the group in 2016 and Adam Chance joined them. I like the one with Chris because the setup and lighting is better at that theater, not because the group was better then. It wasn't. And as to Tim's beard, that's all you're going to get. He admitted that on Chris Rupp's channel. Oh, yeah, you can't go wrong in checking out their video Southerner in the Snow. Not a music video, it's Tim and (another) Chris driving from Nashville to Adam's place in Minnesota. A great glimpse into their lives as friends.

    They do use a looper in their live performance so there are effectively seven voices at once for parts of this song. You have to show him The Butts Remix, he'll go insane.

    Great reaction! Subbed just now because there's nothing better than watching someone's discovery of HOME FREE! They're like no other out there...and are my absolute favorite artists, a capella or otherwise!! Can't wait to see you react to mire of them. You will NOT be disappointed. They are talented beyond words and have this great sense of humor. They are humble and grateful and are totally accessible and relatable. They don't get the recognition they should for their many talents. They do covers as well as original music.

    Homefree, Pentatonix and VoicePlay are the Trifecta of Acapella groups. You can’t get any better than these three
    Homefree although the lean country the sing all genres. Even R&B.

  • @GaiaOne
    @GaiaOne Год назад +2

    And...another couple falls down the rabbit hole. You are so fucking doomed. We'll save you chairs.
    You're about to be buried in Home Fries.
    Home Free is the only country a capella group out there, but they can - and do - sing every genre. And they have no lead singer. Every one of these men can take the lead, and they pick the lead for each song by who does it the most justice. During quarantine, they kept all us Home Fries sane by dropping new videos every couple of weeks. God bless ‘em.
    All the men can beat box, but Adam is in a league of his own. He's a two-time world champion and there're good reasons he's called a "Freak of Nature" and “the man who swallowed a drum kit.” For more of Adam's incredible beat boxing, check out Sea Shanty medley (the man makes castanets, for Pete's sake), his no-monica solo on Working For A Living and Ain't Going Down Til The Sun Comes Up (that video is on Facebook), and his drum solos.
    For more of Tim's seismic basso profundo, listen to Brothers In Arms, Misty Mountains (his collaboration with Peter Hollens), Folsom Prison Blues, or Ring Of Fire (the Sing Off version).
    For Chance's smooth baritone, check out Down to the Honky Tonk, Brothers In Arms, and Folsom Prison Blues. (Awesome.. basso profundo and a baritone/bass in the same group.) FYI, Chance is singing (throat singing) the jaw harp sounds - without the jaw harp - in Man Of Constant Sorrow.
    For Rob's smooth soul, check out End of the Road, Blue Ain't Your Color, or Bless The Broken Road. (Blue-eyed soul is in good hands with The Beard.)
    For Austin's soaring tenor, check out Crazy, Moonshine, When A Man Loves a Woman, or Bring Him Home. (But bolt down your chair ‘cause he'll sing you right out of it.)
    For their humor, check out Butts Remix, Working For A Living, Between A Rock And A Heartache, Make You Feel My Love, Brother, and Champagne Taste on a Beer Budget.
    For their amazing arrangement skills, check out Do You Hear What I Hear. (Adam's arrangement. Nothing else like it.)
    For their tight harmonies, check out Helplessly Hoping, How Great Thou Art, Brothers In Arms, or Auld Lang Syne.
    For their mashups, check out Thinking Out Loud/Let's Get It On, Fishing in the Dark/Boondocks, Country Fried Pop, or Woman, Amen/Female.
    For more of their wonderful collaborations, check out God Bless the USA with Lee Greenwood, American Pie with Don McLean, Elvira with The Oak Ridge Boys, Children Go Where I Send Thee with the late Kenny Rogers, Don’t Laugh At Me with Mark Wills, Christmas In Dixie with Alabama, or Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For with Peter Hollens.
    Get at least five videos under your belt and then listen to Mayday - the official video. After Mayday, you'll be ready for Tim and Austin doing My Maria or Tim's mashup of Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow/Stay.
    Then, when you come up for air, check out Rob and Austin singing Nessun Dorma. You'll need smelling salts after that one.
    Don't miss their official videos. The Home Free men will often do a straight, gorgeous vocal performance, but they'll add elements of humor to the video that will leave you chuckling or even laughing out loud. (Folsom Prison Blues, Between A Rock And A Heartache, Make You Feel My Love, Working For A Living, Brother).
    Their synergy is phenomenal. Each is an artist in his own right, but man - when they sing together, magic happens. Wicked talent polished by decades of hard work. (Unchained Melody, Castle On The Hill, Seven Bridges Road) To paraphrase another Home Fry, “They don't just own a cover, they upgrade it.”
    You are doomed, Home Fries. Bring ketchup.

    Home Free and VoicePlay are my two favorite Cappella groups. Home Free bass Tim Foust and VoicePlay bass Geoff Castellucci have their own channels that are amazing. Home Free and VoicePlay were on The Sing-Off together and have done some collaborations together and have featured the other group members.
