At 5:41 the great Marino shows how he could consistently make throws other hall of famers couldn't.... The King of the Volcano..... nobody could throw it better!
I remember watching Roby kick in pre-game at Rich Stadium back in the day. That guy used to kick some serious bombs. There was one in pre-game that went like 80 yards!
I was at this game with my Wife and Son (Chris Pats Fan) first ever holiday to Florida this was 1 of the Many highlights of a 3-1/2 weeks it still rates as the greatest sporting event I have ever attended the action and atmosphere was incredible (2 AMAZING Q/Bs) and a host of other stars (Thurman Thomas). On the way to the Stadium I got lost and wife and Chris were in the car at a gas station while I got directions at the booth they were almost mugged, but it never spoiled the rest of the night.Massive thunderstorms the next morning and drove on to Key West, an incredible holiday, been back 13 times over the years, Florida is AMAZING.. P.S. THANKS TO WHO EVER POSTED THIS,WONDERFUL
I think it had more to do with the QB having so much talent that coaches and GM's dont think defense and also missed on defensive draft choices that's why Belichick can do what he does with the Patriots the coach gets to do the shopping for the dish he cooks you will get him now and then but for the most part the chef knows what's best
Id kill for this full game. I was 8 when this game was played so I had to go to bed but my grandfather recorded it on VHS for me and I got to watch it after school the next day. And then over the years I watched it hundreds of times. The VHS got lost somewhere. Makes me so sad.
Jim Kelly was great in the NFL but he was even better in the USFL. I think he was league MVP one year and threw 44 touchdowns playing in a dome for the Houston Gamblers. Imagine if he played most of his career in a dome like Peyton Manning did
At 6:15 Clayton just has to hold his hands out, doesnt even need to move, ball is right there, best QB in NFL history, nobody threw the ball like Dan Marino!!
Like watching Apollo 13. I knew who won but it was still thrilling to watch. So many interesting things to see. Rookie Troy Vincent is now Executive VP of NFL Operations. Reich batting the ball OOB is now a penalty. Shula still trying and failing to establish a run game with one of the greatest QBs in NFL history. An opportunistic Bills defense that could create sacks and turnovers in all games except the SuperBowl. Thurman Thomas my favorite player of all time carving up the Dolphins. And a dig at Scott Norwood by Gifford. Priceless.
nobody and i mean NOBODY threw the ball like DAN MARINO!!he was doing in the 80's and 90's what they are doing today!!he set the bar and a nod to jim kelly as well he was a great QB but not in MARINOS league!!
Both were great you cant argue that. Also these QBs in todays league would never make it back then. They are way protected now. If you look at then wrong you'll get a flag. I miss 80s and 90s real NFL.
The Bills were 0 for the 70's against Miami but Buffalo pretty much owned Miami in the late 80's and most of the 90's. Miami beat Buffalo here and there but never when it really mattered. Buffalo knocked Miami out of the playoffs in 1990, 1992, and 1995. Miami's best chance of getting to the Super Bowl was in 92 but they got beat down pretty bad by the Bills in the AFC Championship in Miami 29-10. The 95 Wild Card Game in Buffalo was pretty bad too. Miami gave up over 300 rushing yards in that game and lost 37 -22 but it wasn't even that close really. I think both Thurman Thomas and Derrick Holmes had over 100 yards on the ground. Their 1990 Divisional Playoff Game in the snow in Buffalo was a 44-34 shootout. Really entertaining game. Miami did finally beat the Bills 24-17 in Miami in the 98 Wild Card Game but that was after Jim Kelly and Marv Levy retired. And Doug Flutie had the Bills inside the Dolphins 20 at the end but got sacked on the last play of the game by Trace Armstrong. I think Marv Levy had a better winning % against Don Shula than any other NFL coach
Used to drive me crazy! Big dolphins fan back then. Wanted so bad to see Marino win a SB. AFC team just couldn't win against the NFC teams in the SB back then. NFC owned the NFL back then. Even if dolphins would have made it past Buffalo they would have been creamed by the cowboys or the Niners or the Giants in the SB prob. Panthers fan now, home team.
The dolphins always self destructed when playing the Bill's. Besides the Louis Oliver 105 yard pick 6 game earlier in the season, the phins never got close.
Two QB's from the class of 1983, even though neither Kelly or Marino won a SB, they were just both outstanding for their teams, surprised they didn't face off against each other the way Tom Brady and Peyton Manning did, both were just as capable I think as both Manning and Brady, just didn't have the same team chemistry or whatever
Kelly and Marino did face off quite a bit. They were in the same division. Their teams played three times in the playoffs and Jim Kelly’s team won all three matchups. The 90’s Bills teams that went to four straight Super Bowls are thought of by the novice as chokers, but they simply ran into wide right and after that two of the greatest teams in the history of pro football. If this Bills team was currently in the NFL, no team would stand a chance.
That was the MNF theme, the football helmets collide.. that usually happens right before kickoff the beginning of the game... a lot greater than today's previews
Marino, Montana, Favre and a dozen or more other quarterbacks are way better than overrated Tom Brady . Only reason he won because he had the greatest all around team of the 21st century supporting him : the Patriots . brady is a passing robot and that is all . when the pocket breaks down , brady is useless, can't run left or right, can't pass on the run, etc . only reason pats made playoffs last year was because of their defense
I think it wasn't allowed on youtube sometime after I posted it and I didn't save it on other sites at that time. I may redo that one some day and put it on bitchute.
yes I'll I'm tired of people saying Brady is the goat he had nothing at all on Marino #13 videos stats don't lie and wasn't no sliding to avoid getting hit and look who Marino played against lt Marshall
The Dolphins always had running backs a have a spurt of good games in the mid 80s and 90s. But never a full season. Also had bad luck with injuries and even a death at RB
Well damn,it was the Fins vs the Bills and the refs, wtf??WOW,this one was blatant,so then u gotta wonder about the AFC title game as well,Leagues always been rigged but today it's scripted out mostly,if not ALL but back then It doesn't seem scripted, although it looked like maybe they started messing with the doinks off the posts, but at least they made it look real with him over compensating, today its ok if the same kicker doinks 4 of them in the same game and that's actually believed by fans?!👀
The Miami Dolphins were simply undisciplined and not better than the Buffalo Bills. Buffalo led by Jim Kelly beat Miami three times in the playoffs. Don Shula kept the same DC Tom Olivadotti for a decade. The Miami Dolphins relied on Dan Marino to do it all. The AFC title game in 1992, the Buffalo Bills lines on both sides of the ball took that game over. Miami couldn’t run the ball. The AFC title game in 1985 vs the New England Patriots had the same shades as the AFC title game in 1992 vs the Buffalo Bills. If we’re being blunt here, Super Bowl XIX vs the San Francisco 49ers had all the same shades and it started right there. I do agree about todays game being scripted. The NFL will get Patrick Mahomes to 10 rings before it’s all said and done.
Best MNF crew. I miss the team and even the intro music.
Imagine being old enough to remember when the Bills vs Dolphins was one of the big time matchups.
I am lol. Seems so long ago now but I remember this game here like it was yesterday.

I am, Kelly vs Marino, huge!
I am!!! Ever since 1988. The Bill's been good every year till Kelly retired. Marino / Kelly matchups were great.
@Archie Fitzpatrick I never realised that, wow!
I miss 90's NFL!!
The Bills-Dolphins was one of the best rivalries in the NFL at that time. Maybe the best other than the Cowboys-49ers
Agreed
The bills owned them for the most part.

Kenneth Davis was so underrated
He woulda been a starter for a lot of teams. Played a huge role for the bills
Absolutely!! Kenneth Davis was that dude. Awesome running back
It was always the bills standing in Miami's way back in the early 90s. Could never understand why Shula never replaced olivadotti with another DC.
Ya wasn't his nickname Olivadopey ?
Exactly!!!

Painful to watch. How many games does Thurman need to make you look foolish before you do something about it?
I love how Marino’s throw is faster then the camera can catch 😂
Back when these two teams dominated! Best Dolphins unis ever, such great talent on both sides. Really love these vids, great edit too! Thanks

I was at this game with my dad and brother.
At 8:14 " safe to say i think we know why Scott Norwood is not here" Ouch .
Frank Gifford was savage, but dead on. Christie would have made that SB-winning kick with ease.
Harsh, but stone cold fact unfortunately. And that's coming from a Bills fan.
Reggie Robie punted the ball so high . I think he holds the record for most fair catches and no returns .
Stoyanovich missed quite a few FGs in very big games during this era. Winning this game could have changed the trajectory of the playoffs.
19:07... on the reception side... up to this time he was *THE BEAST.* Just look at the receptions/yards numbers shown.
Jim Kelly was great in the NFL but he was even better in the USFL. I think he was league MVP one year and threw 44 touchdowns playing in a dome for the Houston Gamblers. Imagine if he played most of his career in a dome like Peyton Manning did
Well, he played against inferior competition in the USFL.

Overrated. In his 10 career playoff losses Marino put up an avg of 14 ppg.
I guess Marino ran the route to get that wide open i would hope Marino put it right there. I could have made that throw
I sure miss the Miami Dolphins
Thurman was robbed of an OBVIOUS TD shown around the 21 minute mark.
