One of my favorite nostalgic Buffalo Bill game watches is right here in this 1992 AFC Divisional Playoff showdown between the wild card Buffalo Bills and the AFC Central champs Pittsburgh Steelers, taking place at the old Three Rivers Stadium in downtown Pittsburgh, PA! I won't divulge the score in case you don't remember and plan to watch this contest. However, I cannot refrain from saying that the Buffalo Bills played a masterpiece of a game here in all aspects, start to finish. This was a very solid Pittsburgh Steeler team, especially defensively, they beat, and beat handily. The no-huddle pace was under control so the Bills defense could go to work early, as they needed to do, while the offense found its footing. As one may witness watching this game, the Bills, too, had a very solid and sufficient defense as long as they weren't left hung out to dry, which Reich's pace and execution would not allow. As great as Jim Kelly was, he could put his Bills defense in serious binds, at times, running his "K-Gun" offense at a blistering pace while making serious mistakes like turning the ball over or even going three - and - out! It's certainly not unheard of to go three - and - out on offense, but when the prime "hurry-up offense" engine was running, it's nothing less than a sin committed for your chances for success as a football team. What a great way to burn your defense to a crisp!! Unfortunately, in those Super Bowl losses, examples of the above statement are abounding!!! The Buffalo Bills never showed their true colors or potential in any four of those SB horrors, yet the early '90's Buffalo Bills were winners first, before anything else!!!
