"The finest knight I ever saw was Ser Arthur Dayne, who fought with a blade called Dawn, forged from the heart of a fallen star. They called him the Sword of the Morning, and he would have killed me but for Howland Reed".
-Eddard Stark to Bran Stark
A Clash of Kings, Ch. 21, Bran III
I must admit, I was shocked in the way Arthur was taken down in the show. Without knowing the full background on him...the attack was taken as foul play but necessary. After finding out that he was that "GOAT", the act did make me feel differently about Ned. Hindsight, Ned did go on to protect his sister's child which was what Arthur gave his life for.
After Arthur's death, Eddard rode to Starfall, the seat of House Dayne, to return the sword Dawn to Arthur's sister, Lady Ashara Dayne. I had wondered why Ned only returned the sword and not Arthur's body, too. Not sure if it was guilt or if he'd have to explain wounds to Arthur's neck (back). Hell, Ned had a newborn baby and a dead sister...a sword is easier to carry than an extra body, makes sense also. Leave it up to GoT, it's always the good and decent characters that get the worst endings.
I'm not surprised if the Dawn swords was really a Lightbringer
What I like in House Dayne is Ashara
I’m not certain that they actually kill Arthur Dane. Thats not exactly what they say in the books. Only that he would have killed Ned Stark if it wasn’t for Howland Reed. But they don’t say that Howland sneak attacked him.
Yep Ned was suppose to be skill full and talented but not as top 3. He can certainly hold his own.
I like House Dayne. If I could be character I’d be a Dayne or at least a Dayne-relative.
this looks familiar
A song of Ice and Fire chapter RUclips channel

Men Call me Darkstar.......
Does this Cloth smell like Chloroform??
Wait they are dornish? Like house martell
They are Stoney Dornish, so they look almost half valerian and half first men
Stoney ! There are 3 types Dorne people Stoney, Sandy and River side people.
I believe that Jon Snow is a Danye because the Daynes weren't a really part of the main show on TV they made character tie in the Targaryens.
Stolen from A song of Ice and Fire.
