I followed this course recreation but replaced the mushroom power-up with Link's sword and set a condition where you need to end the course as Link. I plan to make a whole world out of this concept.
DPD4M0 well there is a German RUclips channel called “Helptendo.” He has done all of the levels in the original Super Mario Bros, but most of his tutorials have the wrong layouts, such as a row of ? Blocks are 2 blocks high when it is really 3 blocks high in the original one. Also it is kind of hard for me to determine how many blocks long I need to place a pipe/enemy, especially with ones that have connected textures (like the ground blocks in the castle theme. Do you have any ideas or tips?

When Mario Maker 2 launched, I used this site to help me recreate 1-3, 1-1. and 1-4 www.mariouniverse.com/maps-nes-smb/ I would have have that site open and count how many blocks I'd need to place. I'd also open a simple editing program (ie Paint) so I can write down how many blocks and spaces I need to put down
Do you know the editing program that you use so that I could download it? I am currently using Paint 3D and have no idea how to count the blocks using the paints since the space of my mouse is small.
@@rmstitanica3204 I used Paint (the pre-installed one from Microsoft) since I didn't need to do anything fancy. Unfortunately, I don't know how to use Paint 3D. I'm sure you'll find some good tutorials on RUclips

Originally I did use the Sky Theme at first, but it didn’t really look close to the original. If you look at the original 1-3, they used the Ground Theme, not Sky. And since I wanted to replicate 1-3 as close to the original as possible, I went for the Ground theme, just like in the original

I wasn’t aiming for a “remixed” course. I wanted a recreation that was close to the original as possible. The ground theme was the best bet. But yeah for remixes and what not, Sky theme would be a neat choice
