Thanks for the fun short-hop trip on a beautiful 747 with the most stunningly attractive flight attendant crew I've ever seen. I was once lucky enough to fly a TWA short route from SFO to LAX on a 747. I don't recall which version. This was pre-internet, years ago, and TWA messed up my reservation. They tossed me on that flight and in an upstairs seat for the hop to LA. I believe it was then going onward to Heathrow. It was a fun treat. A year later I took a TWA 747 from LAX to Heathrow...perhaps the same aircraft.
It's a once-in-life experience, never had I seen such a B747 flying on such a short route. Even the crew and ground staff were excited as well. Liked and subscribed
Flew one of the very early KLM 747’s (YYZ-AMS) in the early 1970’s. I was 12. We got Bon Voyage cards in the mail from family and friends, I had to wear a suit and tie, and even though we flew steerage (economy) dinner was white glove service. I will NEVER forget that. Thought I was finally going to get to do it again (YYZ-LHR) about 5yrs ago and my wife couldn’t understand my excitement. Imagine the look on my face when they shoehorned me (6’3”) into about a 25” legspace seat on a 777. They changed the plane the day of the flight. Never again BA, never again!
My favorite aircraft. When I was based in Dubai in the 80s and 90s, I was able to fly on it many times, usually on business. My favorite was a KLM flight that originated in Amsterdam and stopped off in Vienna before heading to Dubai. I was able to fly business class, which was on the upper deck and I liked KLM so much that I'd take that flight regardless of where I was in Europe. I last flew on a British Airways 747 in 2017, not knowing at the time that it was probably my last fight on a 747. Wonderful airplane.
Hello and thank you for the wonderful experience! I flew the inbound flight with this lovely Jumbojet D-ABYQ in Business Class that day and was exited as well! The crew was marvellous and absolutely friendly. It was a special energie I felt. All the best to you and always happy landings. Ciao Joerg
Flightradar24 you guys are game changer for avgeek fans like us .Personally I like the 350 as we have space like the 747- take off landing watching the flaps of 747 still mesmerizes me .I can be watching out of the window full 8/9 hours of a long haul flight anytime - love the open concept 1st class compared to closed cabin - after covid19 want to see people instead of being cooped up in a house for nearly 2 years
I flew seat 1A in a QF 747-400 in 2004 when the First Class section was being used for Business Class passengers. Taxying is a peculiar experience when you are so far forward of the nose gear. Like the window shades BTW.
Flying in the 787-8I seems like it’s worth dying for! Though if I were to book a seat on one, I don’t know if I’d rather sit on the upper deck above everyone else or in first class in the nose in front of everyone else including the cockpit. *It’d be quite a dilemma!*
Nicest plane ever, closely followed by the MD11. Seen it all, Economy, Business, Caprains Bulk head, and approach in the cockpit. miss MD11, but even more miss KL B747 flights to the Caribbean.
Great view of engines and wing. Mesmerizing. What level of service is in the upper level? Does the flight crew enter the cockpit from there? Nice video of a beautiful airliner.
The upper deck has the business class seats but on these flights same service as you saw (First was sold as business). And yes, the cockpit door is at the front of the upper deck. Fun fact: when you sit in First in the first rows you're actually sitting further forward than the pilots!
I wonder what Wilbur and Orville would think of the B747? Their first successful flight was December 17, 1903; a B747 entered service w/ Pan Am a little more than 66 years later, January 22, 1970.
@@Flightradar24DotCom Yes, it was a while ago. 2016 I flew QF1 AND QF2 SYD/DUB/LON on the A380. That was a brilliant trip. I will miss the A380 when they decommission them all.
I love this whole video, though, when the plane starts it's engine's, that's when we want only the noise the plane makes, that includes takeoff and at least up to 150000 feet, no background music. Us avgeeks want to experience the plane's engines and general noises.
It's true that there isn't much noise once the wheels go up when sitting in the nose. But we hear you. Here's the takeoff with no music: instagram.com/tv/CSqrQQBB6Jq/
Most of the 747 casualties were the -400 model. The 747-8 like the one in this video still has a long life ahead. A lot of the -8’s are not even 10 years old yet.
Oh you know, I'm more of a Global Express to myself kinda guy, semi divided first class simply does not do it for me. Oh yeah, I just remembered, I'm lucky enough to fly Trans Atlantic on a tired 777 in a packed, loud and dirty economy seat like 96% of the general flying public. 🤷🏿♂️
So you didn't get kicked out of the first class seats? Nice. Would have wanted to do this flight too, but LH had other ideas. Everyone who manage to reserve a seat in the first class area for free on the first day was simply reseated so they could sell them for some extra cash. Disgusting.

Well, BA don’t even have any 747s anymore ;(
But you can always fly Lufthansa or KAL to get the 747 fix in the future!
queen of germany, what an aircraft

Have flown in this graceful aircraft since 1985.
B747-200/300/400 and B747-8.
Indeed "The Queen Of The Skies".
Thank you for the presentation.
1:22 That PA was from the August 7th flight from Frankfurt, I was on that flight in the upper deck, it was magnificent!
What an incredible opportunity to get onboard a 747-8i! Great views of the wing and engine from those forward seats too!
yeahh
When you doing it Paul?
The engines on the B747-8 >>> the engines on the A350 😎

Very good artistic production values.
love how everyone was snapping photos as boarding happened
8i on Lufthansa was really cool. Dehli 2 frankfurt and Frankfurt to ord.
Gabriel, I stumbled on A350 video and I must say your production got me hooked immediately. Well done! Great quality!
I flew the retro queen in business to Mallorca in july! amazing flight. great report
Your beautifully spoken
Love the commentary
Was glad I could secure a couple of flights on Qantas’s 747 farewell flights.. very much missed
My personal opinion is that on the 748, I would much prefer the more open configuration than the claustrophobic nature of other airlines
Looking forward to flying FRA to IAH on a -8i in October, hoping that they don't switch to a different aircraft.
Loved the vibe of these two videos. Well done.
Thanks!

Wow I never knew the 747 could takeoff from LEPA incredible vid! :D
Thanks a lot!

It really is one of the trickiest dilemmas in aviation!
747 over the A350. But I would like the jumpseat over 1st class any day.
I wondered what kind of job you have that would encompass so much air travel. A Google search answered my question. Cool job!
Oh yeah. Definitely a millionaire if he’s a founder
fantastic! top
5:26 I'm with you all the way!!!

Flying lh's 747-8 is high on my bucket list, even if it's only in premium economy

The blood of the oldtime Condé de Mallorca y Minorca flows in my veins. His granddaughter wedded into my family in Jersey.
The last time I flew on a 747 was QF11 SYD to LAX 1998.
Wow long time! Good route though.

Never put backgound music on U Tube videos. So annoying.......even more so when all we want to hear is 4 engines roaring at high rpm....
In upstairs first class probably not too loud engine noise.

Being an avgeek myself, what I wouldn't give to go back on a 747 & experience first class like I used to do on Northwest Airlines.
Here here, COVID may have gotten some positive side effects, flying to and from PMI on a 747.
Hi! What camera did u use here? The video has amazing quality.
Thanks! Combination of Sony FX3 and iPhone 12 Pro.
Personally, I prefer more private seat design. I am going to keeping low profile especially during covid.
Nice review.
I didn't know there where these anymore on freighter versions..would be a dream too fly on one..not a fan of the first class I prefer more privacy
I like it closed
Have you ever thought about your co2 footprint?
Ayo featured twice🤣
I thought 747’s weren’t in passenger service anymore (?)
There are still some out there!

hi where do you get the music tracks from??
Epidemic Sound.

ive only ever on -400 not 800
Much rather hear the plane, not the filler music.
We'll be sure to put some clips up on our Instagram without music like this one: instagram.com/tv/CSqrQQBB6Jq/?
People without earlobes are suspicious 🤔
Hidden away.

1:16 yo mama
Too austere First class - like in a cheap waiting room. "The Arabs" are much better!
What a terrible first class!!!
