I went to Palma in 1973 when I was in the Marines. I was aboard the USS Shreveport LPD12 for the Med Cruise. Palma was the most beautiful place Ive ever seen.Even seeing her from the ship deck at night at a distance was heart stopping. If you viewers get a chance to go there, dont deny yourself the visit of a lifetime.
You will faint when you have the coming spiritual awakening and you find out what the magical and legendary Mallorca really is =).It is a glorious time to be alive!Researching with an open mind is a blessing.
Such a beautiful nostalgic bird. My favourite of all time. Was lucky enough to fly to vegas on virgin Atlantic a few years ago. I was astonished how big it was inside and the amount of people onboard, seeing a bar on an airplane and being able to go upstairs was something I'll never forget.
Economically this aircraft makes a great deal of sense. Although it consumes more fuel than a modern aircraft, it doesn't consume x2 of what a narrowbody does. So, it's 1 plane but carrying 350-400 people rather than 2 planes each carrying half that. Just 1 crew needed not 2, just 1 gate and ground crew needed rather than 2. Lufthansa are smart.
D-ABVX was one of the first passenger 747-400 I spotted. Looking forward to see them back in action here at Mumbai. She is the perfect example of a flawless design. Love the interactive content on FR's youtube channel. Can't imagine my spotting sessions without FlightRadar app , Cheers ! Happy spotting ! 😁🥰

Great video I have had a passion for aviation since I was a small boy. Just can't get enough aviation . Being a Flight Radar 24 member has turned me on to a lot of great videos.
Reminds me of plane-spotting at BNE before they opened the second runway - there's signs on the fence at the spotting area advising 'beware of snakes' (and they're not the nice squeeze-you-to-death' types).
As I fly from my home airport ZRH, we are very susceptible to the French ATC who are frequently either on strike or working purposely slow. Last time I missed a connection to JFK in Lisbon and TAP had to put us up for the night. I will be respectful .
Thank you Gabriel for another exciting experience and smooth pleasant editing, but most of all to keep the passion alive for those amazing flying machines. I flew the B747 Queen several times in & out of Sydney some years ago, when "economy" was still comfortable, I was always amazed to see its wings ondulate vastly upon landing and taking off...very impressive ! Now living by Nice Airport (and listening to ATCs) I wish I could see some visiting, as the biggest bird we used to spot : the Airbus A380 from Emirates stopped coming since the Covid pandemic. Thank you Gabriel, thank you FlightRadar
I have an engineering question. The engines on this model appear to be very forward after the leading edge.......I dont recall them being so far forward. Was this model issued with a design change on the engine placement?
i mean this flight its honestly not that expensive.... palma to frankfurt its a couple hours flight. i'm going to book it just because of the plane also. flying to the US from europe is much much pricier i'm afraid
We get it here in Toronto daily from Frankfurt. Me, being an AV geek, never flew on a wide body aircraft, only the 737-800. Hopefully I get my Citizenship this year So I can fly to Germany before she is gone for good.
I really loved this video. But PLEASE be sure to use wind protection for the microphone for following videos. This crackling killed my ears and the lovely turbine sound.
given the interest in this plane, other carriers should stop being such bit...es and do the right thing and at least keep one or a couple 747's in their fleet. I'm talking to you british airways, virgin atlantic, klm and so forth.... BRAVO LUFTHANSA!! Airplane enthusiasts and many, many passengers appreciate this aircraft and we definitely don't want to wave goodbye to it like we did with concorde. Keep the queen of the skies where it belongs!
Long live the Queen
LUFTHANSA IS THE SAVIOR OF THE OUEEN OF THE SKIES!!! MASIVE RESPECT TO THEM

Place has changed a bit since 1973...but you can still find some georgous areas

I was aboard both flights that day. LH1158 and LH1159. Best thing i have ever done!
Amazing views. I love 'The Queen.' I'd love to fly on her again before she is gone.

That was wonderful. Thank you for bringing us along.

Thank you Gabriel & Flightradar24 for this awesome content! As an frequent FRA-PMI traveler, I really appreciate it! Cheers.
747's are the best. If you want to see 747's en mass Anchorage is a major cargo hub and lots of 747's fly in and out.
747 The Great One 😊
747 my favorite
Such a beautiful aircraft and your footage mixed with your commentary and the relaxing music at the exact right volume was spot on as always 👍
Come to Málaga Airport, you can get much closer to the aircraft landing and taking off.

superb mister 😍
i confirm that Gabriel is a nice Man and Flightradar24 so
Excellent video and beautiful aircraft Thank You
Whats the purpose of those 747 flights to palma? Isnt it more economic to increase the rotation count of narrowbody ?
❤
Hoping one of this days this Lufthansa will have a flight to MNL Philippines 🇵🇭 so that we can see the Queen of the skies here

First to comment ! Such great memories of both the 747 and the A340. Happy days.

My last time on a 747 was 1998 on QF11 SYD-LAX
Nice video as always 👍👍👍
Must be nice to have the money to just casually take a business class flight because you like the plane haha. Life goals.

Which days do the Lufthansa 747-400 fly to PMI?
Lufthansa at most rplayed:IM STILL STANDIN
Everyday, I check the Boeing Company. I sometimes see the Boeing 747 Dreamlifter.
We get it here in Toronto daily from Frankfurt. Me, being an AV geek, never flew on a wide body aircraft, only the 737-800. Hopefully I get my Citizenship this year So I can fly to Germany before she is gone for good.

Whats the economics of this flight, vs a Ryanair flight?
I really loved this video.
But PLEASE be sure to use wind protection for the microphone for following videos. This crackling killed my ears and the lovely turbine sound.
Last queen ever to be boarded
Sir, runway TWO EIGHT, rather than runway twenty eight.ICAO designation.
What car are you in at 8:50?
Alfa Romeo Stelvio!
Nice vid
What‘s the seat number behind the wing?
That shot was from the rearmost exit but you’re behind the wing in most of the rear economy cabin
why was everyone clapping on the plane?
When they landed they clapped bc they are basically thanking the pilot and saying well done for getting them there its pretty common actually
I would love to join a meet-up like this at PMI. How do I find out about future ones?
Please follow us on social media. Usually such meet-ups are announced on Twitter and/or Instagram.
🌎👍❤
Why are the passengers clapping when the plane lands? Is that a European thing?
Yeah
No this is only because it was a special flight. Most European flights feature zero clapping.
Note: I meant no 😅
They are clapping because well you never know if you are going to land safely lol id clap too out of relief lmao
