The Captain and First Officer make a great team. They can almost read each other's minds. Its what you want, flying in that environment. Amazing views of those calved bergs.
@@Flightradar24DotCom Also, if I am not mistaken, the first officer is also an seasoned ex danish airforce C-130H pilot with an extensive artic operation background, so good deal of knowledge is crammed into that small flight deck.
Unbelievable scenery and what a beautiful journey to take. It beats all the hustle and bustle of continuous commercial aviation. I look forward to the next instalment.
Omg I loved that! My father flew Halifaxes during WWII. He subsequently flew flying boats from Rose Bay in Sydney to Lord Howe Island & sometimes to the Pacific Islands. He then moved to the Fokker 27 & 28. I spent some time on the flight deck as a child .. I’ve been in the Dash 8 a few times & my daughter’s flights to & from boarding school were in the Dash 8. So inspiring to see this so many years later.
The Captain´s comments about approaching Greenland beginning @ 15:48 reminded me of a passage from Ernest K Gann´s memoir *Fate Is The Hunter*: ¨There, then, was the enormous mass of Greenland, and I could not look away from it...I had never in all my flying seen anything to compare w/ this fantastic exhibition...In all of the times I later came upon the continent of Greenland, the crew members invariably expressed the same wondrous exhilaration.¨
That was so cool. The closest I ever came to a gigantic iceberg in real life, was Easter 7 years ago, I was in New Foundland and a gigantic iceberg grounded in a bay close to home. Everybody from all over drove in to see it. The flight approach into St. John's is over the East Coast and there were tons of icebergs in the adjacent waters on the flight path. Can't wait to see your next installment !!
Loving these cockpit videos recently team i dont know why but just find watching these flying videos so therapeutic and relaxing and like the access you get in these planes something us the public dont normally see just find it fascinating flying id love to do it as a job if it wasnt so expensive to do just like the pre flight check lists you have to do and find talking to radio control fascinating to the chatter you do to them must be damn good pay these days to become a pilot but man that view of the icebergs was incredible just shows what our great earth has to offer you have to go out there and find it amazing stuff
If I had to describe the complete opposite of where we live, it would be this video. No icebergs, no snow and not even a heater for the house here. 🌴Enjoyed the content. Thanks.
Fantastic video... I've never been in the cockpit of an aeroplane before, and it's over 20 years since I've flown. So it was a thrill for me to watch all of this. Thanks a million !
Amazing video! I lived in Ilulissat had a wave of nostalgia watching this! I always wondered what the view from the dash 7/8s landing looked like and you captured it beautifully. And thanks to the very friendly pilots. Looking forward to seeing the helicopter ride.
The flight over the ice ... there are no words to describe the beauty of it. I have ferried many aircraft over their part of the world, I never had something to say .. only it’s sad we going to lose it all one day.
Love it! I used to fly that plane into all of the mountain towns in Colorado for years! Happy to see it has a new life in an amazing part of the world. Challenging environment and a rock solid aircraft. Keep up the great work.
Thanks for saying so! We only started producing videos like this pretty recently. We'd love it if you would share with your friends and tell them to subscribe too!
@@Flightradar24DotCom I see, never heard of this channel until now. Amazing video and the fact that you went all the way to Greenland just to film this. I will definitely travel in to Greenland when the pandemic is over. I wish you and the channel the best of luck. I look forward to more videos like this, maybe in Iceland or Norway. I will definitely tell all my friends about this channel!
The same as we have in Norway - Dash 8 and steep approaches on short fields, even the PAPI's are tuned to that. Invite yourself to a ride with Widerøe airlines in January - that's when the real thrill is going on...
Amazing video, narration on point. Your voice adds to the splendor of the scenery. Hats off to you and the flight crew. This was the first video I have seen from you and it is really impressive. Thanks for sharing a sector that most people would never get to see.
OMG thank you for taking us along with you, that was just absolutely amazing, I love to fly, I have flown south to north and east to west, but just over the U.S, the best place by far I have flown over was the Grand Canyon.
Absolutely beautiful scenery. I live in beautiful, sub-tropical South Africa and of course have never seen an iceberg. However, we do have whales visiting our southern coastline from July to October to breed. Greetings 👋🇿🇦
Awesome to be able to fly around with you & hear the pilots stories & see the glaciers and icebergs! A long and winding road I see with each isolated little airport, lol. Thanks! :)
Wow amazing. Did you take special permission to talk to pilots while flying? I am flying Copenhagen- Kangerlussuaq, then Kangerlussuaq-Ilulissat and back to Kangerlussuaq then to Copenhagen. Excited 😀. Hope I get to see cockpit view while flying 😀
The Mighty Ocho I spent hundreds of flight hours in all the EX Mesa DHC8 that Air Greenland now flies. It is good to know those AC are in capable hands .!!
I did two 2 week of flying for Air Greenland with a backup plane and it’s a cool company to fly for. Flying up there is a absolutely eye catching experience. It was there in the summer, weather pleasant and we only did the longer runway operations. Flying into a 700 meter runway in marginal weather is a bit of a challenge. Yeah they know their stuff.
Love that cockpit view. Great job on the film. Dash 8-Q202 is a great performer airplane. You can pretty much take that airplane anywhere. Keep up the good work. Very detailed. Love the high wings. Fly safe!!
Fantastic, I love the dash 8, flown on a number of them through Canada, it was nice to see SFJ too, I flew in there in June 1971 on board a Wardair 727 from YXE to MAN
Excellent - how nice to have a straight documentary - no extra music, no artificial drama - it's the way!
a Mandalorian couldn't have said it better 'This is the way' :)
LOVED the Dash8!! Worked for Us Airways for 34 years and on my first day in 1971 worked a CV580!! BLESSED!!
The Captain and First Officer make a great team. They can almost read each other's minds.
Its what you want, flying in that environment. Amazing views of those calved bergs.
Indeed!
“Let’s go to sightseeing altitude” (17.25 minutes). “Yeh, that is better!” Classic! Superb video!
One of our favorite moments! Those pilots were so much fun to spend time with.
Priceless!

Outstanding performance from both Pilots, real professionals and genuine Aviators, spot on job Guys!
Seems like, the CRM in Air Greenland is impeccable.
now that's a steep approach. Great landing
Nice. The pilot seat cover has seen better days.... :)
That first landing was incredible
I spent a year in Greenland at Thule AFB, spectacular and unusual scenery for someone from Louisiana.
Wow! Did you enjoy your year there?

Super Nice flights, comments and more over the filming.
Thanks Gabriel and Air Greenland pilots, Mother Nature is so Beautiful
Indeed.
Not seen a 200 with Q400 style glass instruments before. Nice video.
It's an avionics upgrade by Field Aviation using Universal Avionics.
@@ndirangugichuki6260 Ok thanks. Not seen any others on RUclips.
I've seen Greenland from 30,000ft which was beautiful, but this video from 3000ft is just WOW 😃😃😃😃

Lol my Canadian ass wishes😂⛄️🥶
What a beautiful sight, those pilots love flying up there.
Amazing country. Thanks for this Greenland video series. 👍
👍👍👍
Amazing shots of the iceberg now on my bucket list to fly to Llulissat
if weather permits (clear and calm) don't miss a cruise among the icebergs south of town.
What a wonderful video. Thank you so much
Looks way more fun than a jet to me.

Wow! Amazing!!
This is probably the best airplane videos I ever seen 👍

You lived here? You must have some interesting stories to tell.
Lately I turn on FR24 and Nuuk live cams when I get to work for a break. This was amazing and good timing. Bravo!

i held my breath on the final

Love the Dash 8's. All of them.
Breathtakingly beautiful and a perfect plane to fly superb flying crew
awesome!!
This looks absolutely amazing! When is the next part coming?
Next week! Tell your friends 😉

WOW!! What an absolutely amazing video. Such beautiful scenery.
What a great plane that Dash 8 is, and how quick from start rolling to rotate.. Thanks for the video - Ian -UK.
EXTRAORDINARIO VIDEO!!!! Saludos desde Argentina
Gracias Claudio!
Good job ! Very interesting ! Thanks
Very cool, what a flight, what a place. Thanks to crew and to Air Greenland for allowing the video.

You weren’t kidding about the visuals on the second leg, wow! What an approach
Thank you for a great video it was fun to watch and see the ice bergs 😊😊😊😌😌😌😌😅😅😁
An absolutely incredible video. Thank you so much for producing it.
Thank you for watching! So glad to hear.
Dash-8 seems like a fun plane to fly. Great views for sure. Nicely done!
The Dash is awsome to fly on. The Q400 has an invreadible climb after TO but the Q200 will lift the weels in less than 500 m.
Great shots, great soundtrack, great job 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Thanks a lot!
wow amazing views, thumbs up
cheers from Germany
👍
That is some amazing scenery! What a trip! Looking forward to more!
Beautiful paint job on the aircraft.
What a wonderfully entertaining video, thank you!
Thanks for watching and commenting Dapper Dave!
Superbly photographed, lovely imagery.
Beautiful video! I loved the magnificent scenery of Greenland. And I love Gabe Leigh as narrator. He sounds very sincere and relaxed.
Thank you!

Absolutely stunning. So beautiful.
Yes.🤗
9:00 It is practically a carrier landing 😮 I was surprised it is a paved runway, I guess I was expecting dirt/gravel
Yeah! Greenland does pretty well with having paved runways in many cases, but they are certainly short!

Yeah! Have flown Widerøe in summer and loved it, but really need to try it in winter!
This I believe you. I am doing now some rides on the Q200 from SATA on the Azores and I love the 200 series. It can bring you in 450 m in the air.
Beautifull and Great aircraft
