    Right at the end of the "navigating around severe turbulence" section the FO ordered a coffee(in Danish) lol

    Stationed there in 1964-1965 USAF; Looks quite different now....Thanks to all the Danish folks that worked there then...it was a great time and good food.

    Two years ago I flew with the A330 from Copenhagen (Starting from Hamburg to Copenhagen with SAS) to Kangerlussuaq. I had a small repair job to do on a Hapag Lloyd expedition ship in the fjord. I used the rest of the time (2 days) to explore the area and take a trip to the inland ice. And I could also watch the northern lights. It was an unforgettable 2 days, my best job I have ever had!

    This video had special meaning to me. I used to work in the Flight Data Processing department of the company that managed maintenance on this aircraft. I personally entered the flight data from the aircraft Technical Log pages into the Maintenance Planning computer from each flight performed, predominantly CPH - SFJ - CPH but occasionally CPH - THU - CPH. A beautiful looking and very reliable aircraft. Thank you for this wonderful insight into the operation, and putting meaning into the work I used to carry out 🙏🏻

    I was a plane mechanic intern for a week in Kastrup at SAS, I got to sit in the FO seat while this A330 got towed from the maintenance area to the gate. I was also on the tug during its pushback later on.
    I've never flown to Greenland, so Its really cool to actually see this plane in action away from the gates.. And with a pilot sitting where I once sat, looking out over the North Atlantic at 36.000ft. A job I really wish I had..

      tedious it gets, flying air Greenland’s 330, for it only has one route to fly😂

    I flew on this plane back in July. What an awesome plane and airport. Indeed we ran into severe turbolence on our flight, but nice to see the pilots actually taking care of it.

    I will probably never see Greenland but I've flown over Australia's very different deserts many times. Once, flying over what looks like uninhabitable desert the Dutch tourist next to me said, "There's a city down there!" I leaned over to see and yes, it was a mining town that I had visited several times before.

    Great coverage as always. Maybe some tips for next ones : the interesting moments to film the panel flight instruments are a : power set for take-off, level acceleration (within 2-3 minutes from take-off) - flaps retractions and speed band - show the leading edge retraction also. For approach do the same, show the 10'000 FT / 250 kts passing, leading edge extension, then speed changes commanded and flown from flaps up to full flap down and gear extension command. The rest you can do as usual, show the views etc. These are the key moments I guess avgeegs want to see.

    I was made to go around on short finals here in 2017 due to the AG Airbus taxiing forward from a hold without clearance from ATC. The female Capt was quite apologetic but ATC still gave her a scolding! I held for 10mins while they departed then landed downwind. I was in my single seater homebuilt on my way back home after an epic trip across the Atlantic to the USA from the UK.

    Brought back slot of memories, nearly all good with just one bad one. I took this very same flight a few years ago, completely on an impulse. I actually saw a RUclips video about Air Greenland, and then that same evening bought a ticket to Greenland! Even though I had a very limited budget and only had a few days holiday from my job. Everyone I met there thought I was mad to go to Greenland for only a few days, but that’s all I had. I’m also a big AV geek and had long wanted to take this particular flight. Unfortunately as soon as I arrived there, I had the one bad experience. An idiot member of the ground crew at Kangerlussuaq, started yelling at me to stop filming as I walked from the rear stairs of the A330 to the Terminal building. She looked barely 20 years old and said it was for ‘safety reasons’. Yet she didn’t stop some paxs walking underneath the wing as they walked to the terminal! I was so mad she stopped my filming, as I was really looking forward to filming the arrival. I didn’t say anything to her but switched off my camera. In the UK we call such people a ‘jobsworth’ (someone who upholds petty rules, to be unhelpful even at the expense of common sense). Anyway apart from that, the few days I had (just in Kangerlussuaq!) we’re still great. I got to spend a night camped out on the Ice Cap, which was amazing. Must try to forget the one bad exp (these things happen), and remember the good stuff. It was a crazy thing to do: go to Greenland for just a few days and stay in the one horse town of Kangerlussuaq, but still totally worth it. Thanks for a truly awesome video. 👏

    • @airedition
      @airedition Год назад

      I hadn't seen this comment, just read it now - I love that you went all the way there on an impulse! What a shame about the ground staff; that's very surprising for Greenland. It's funny how you come across these people. Often I think they're actually making up the rules. I get it about once every thirty flights. Someone on the ground as you deplane doesn't want you filming, claims it's a rule. At most airports, it's just silly. Anyway thanks for watching!
