- Touchdown in Greenland. We've made it to Kangerlussuaq and today begin a new series spanning 5 videos and 3 amazing new destinations.
In this first video we explore the area around Kangerlussuaq, Greenland. Things to do with a focus on photography specifically. From Muskox to Reindeer, Glaciers to day hikes there is lots to look forward to.

I take it back... the Boondocks noun [ plural ] US / UK / ˈany area in the country that is quiet, has few people living in it, and is a long way away from a town or city' aka you nailed it, we found the boondocks.

@@gregsnell I did bought my first one a mini 3 pro and its way better than expected and a blast to explore new photo areas or views. Greenland looks really awesome, wish I would have join you guys for the adventure maybe sometime soon.

Russell Glacier is a very special experience. It's an unusual glacier in that it has a glacial wall (face) but terminates on land. It's also super unusual to be able to get so close to a glacier so easily and be the only people there.
The whole Kangerlussuaq area is incredible - lots more to explore there when you come back next time.
Yup, you came to Greenland... I won't say in wrong time, but we had issues with weather in the last couple of months (June to August, if they're around the time, you're here and yup, I'm from Greenland), lots of delays and cancelled planes, so they booked hotels for them.
Somehow the 4x4 ride to Russell glacier looks way smoother than it actually was ;-)

Greenland looks awesome so far! It is a place I have never considered going before, but I may have to now. The landscapes look incredible, and it looks quite remote too!

From what I just read, Kangerlussuaq Fjord is 190 Km long. But the longest Fjord is the Scoresby Sund system on the other side of Greenland. Its longest tributary reaches 350 Km inland. Beautiful area and cool video!
Is it me, or has Russell Glacier receded a lot in recent years? That gravel bed extending from the terminus, with no soil or grass, looks like it was under ice until relatively recently. Thanks.

Those landscapes really do look amazing. How did you manage to find those local contacts to give you a lift to Russell Glacier and Sugarloaf Mountain? That would be really useful to know as I am going to Kangerlussuaq this summer and the guided tours are rather expensive.
Greenland has been on my bucket list for 25 years! Your video is amazing and I’ve never wanted to go so bad. Think it’s going to happen this year. Any tips?

@@gregsnell Well, I’m a flight attendant for American and I’ve been waiting years for Air Greenland to join the ZED staff traveler program. But, looks like I’ll have to pay full fare lol. But I am sure it’s worth every penny.
Those drone shots are super sick!! Imagine if you were using the DJI Avata FPV, you could have got funky stuff in the glacier!! Loving the land cruisers being driven properly!! Looks like this will be an awesome trip!

Great Vlog Greg, I know very little about Greenland so will be watching for educational purposes as much as the great photography. Stunning drone footage and you will make me “green” with envy with any Aurora shots (only caught a faint glimpse on my Orkney holiday) but it’s all kicked off up there since my return 🙁 🇬🇱👍

Thanks Greg! This was a fun watch. A destination i want to go sometime in the future. Was it difficult to book transportation to the sights or is it part of local business anyway? Can´t wait for the rest of your trip. Do you have to give a lot of instructions to your group on location or do they use the time on their own? Greetings from Hamburg!
Arne!! What's up man. Yeah transport has been tough but we have still been able to find and boom it where needed. Just not as obvious as other destinations. We do give some instruction but most people on these trips already have a relatively good handle on their cameras. It's more about the adventure and immersive experience 👍
Awesome video! What zoom lenses did your bring? Im gong to Kangerlussuaq and Nuuk in October and don’t know if I should rent a 100-400 or 150-600 (Sony)
100-400 is the better lens.

Nice video and captures, however the fast loud music is somehow not aligned with serene nature.
