- I recently flew on Air Greenland's newest aircraft to experience its "Premium" cabin with snowy landscapes and friendly Danish hospitality.
Air Greenland is owned by the Greenlandic government, but realistically it's a heavily Danish-influenced airline with mostly European executives. The airline has played a pivotal role in connecting the vast and unpredictable landscapes of Greenland for decades as the autonomous territory of Denmark has no roads outside of town limits. Aviation serves as a lifeline for remote communities, especially those without access to harbors. SAS and a Danish mining company founded the airline as Grønlandsfly in 1960.
The A330-800neo has been a slow seller as only 7 have been built so far. But the shortened widebody fits Air Greenland's future plans to connect the capital city Nuuk's short-runway and Copenhagen while being stuffed with cargo. It replaced the airline's previous jet (an old A330-200 nicknamed Norsaq). Passenger comfort was decreased in the new high-density jet, and the quality in Premium class also decreased poorly. I was disappointed in the undercooked food, lack of hot towels, and reduced personal touch (even though prices were increased 2x).

That take-off was super long
Years ago I was flying out of CPH and saw the old Air Greenland A330 parked at a nearby gate. I was very curious as to what it was like. Really enjoyed seeing this video and getting a look inside, albeit a newer aircraft.
Such an obscure airline but one of my favourite liveries. Love the all red airplane!

When the airport was used as a stop between Kastrup and Winnipeg and LAX, it was called Søndre Strømfjord, hence the three letter code.

@@QFSAviation It is phenominal - I mean musc-Ox, Reindeer, Arctic hares and foxes and Ptarmigans are plentyfull in the area. In some of the lakes,rivers and in the fiords there are Arctic Char, which is so good to eat.

Great flight. Unfortunately unlike the 900 variant, the 800 variant can't attract more airline to use it. The cabin feels like Premium Economy rather than Business Class to be honest.
They even sell it as "Premium". So it is weird to see the author call it "business class" and review it as if it was business class.
Beautiful plane! Looks like the steward at the door was trying to play the role of bouncer to the business class section. 😂

That was really nice you had the seat next to you with no one there. The more space for you is always nice. The aircraft livery color was cute with that red and white!! Yes, I agree with you about the chicken with that meal!! It looked like it needed more time to cook in the oven but oh well!! You shared that you were a little hungry. Finally, when you settled down in your hotel room you showed your luggage and back pack with you travel tags!! That was very nice to see your travels!!@ You made smile and 😂 laugh. You made me remember having lived out of my luggage for ten years of flying that it was nice to see the world!! Again, thank you for sharing your travels. Smile ☺

Wow amazing insight of their airline and this route. I flew over Greenland only, probably like many of us, while on my way from YYC to DUB with WestJet 787-9 dreamliner. didnt see anything outside the window because of clouds, I was hoping to see the ice sheet. And you are so cute btw

Shocked at how, for $1000, they offer that as a business cabin. In my mind it'd make more sense to make the business cabin smaller but to invest in higher quality and bigger seats for the people that want the business experience and sell more economy/premium economy seats instead of selling 4 seats in a pretty big but disappointing business cabin.

Pink chicken does not always mean undercooked, depending on preparation. Best thing to do in that situation is to confirm that the internal temperature was checked with an appropriate meat thermometer.

I flew Air Greenland's A330 in January and February 2023, but in economy. I thought about upgrading as well, but when I checked out the seating and what you get, I decided against it. I was quite comfortable in economy, and the flight is only about 4 hours.

What a wonderful viddy. I find it very interesting and though that Neo isn't as fab as the -200, it's still really cool to watch. You mentioned the price diff for Business to economy, I'd have EASILY spent the extra 189 bones! It looks like a huge improvement. Very interested in Greenland, what a unique country.

What language do they speak in Greenland? The airline crew used the international language english when departing Greenland however when landing in Copenhagen, Denmark I had no idea what language they were using. All in all a very nice smooth ride on a brand new plane for almost 5 hours and you were fed nicely like 3 times. Thanks for the nice descriptive video.
Nice to see a video, with The NEO. Flew from Billund, Denmark to Kangerlussuaq, in a leased, cheap, little Boeing 737 whitout any IFE and seats, that hurd after 3 hours!

Not bad for an airline that has no competition. The even longer twice-weekly flight from Perth to Australia's Indian Ocean Territories offers no cooked meal, just a snack.

The crew was amazing!! However I do think the seats are comparable to a long haul premium economy.

AMAZING REVIEW (as always!) could you please try the new A350-900 NEXT GENERATION from Iberia in Premium Economy or Business? Their seats are game-changing, also the catering is very nice, especially if you fly from Madrid
It is a shame their service has gone down but without competition, they really don't have to be the best but I would hope their food was cooked properly...have a great day!

Do you ever get to dca,reagan national? You can pretty much stand a couple hundres feet from end of runway. Love them turbo prop sounds!
I visited DCA when I was a kid but haven’t been back since. I love photos from that runway angle!

Congratulations for a great report !!!!!!!!. Im surprised how Air Greenland downgraded their Business Class into a Premium Y in an era where Business Classes are being upgraded. Probably there is no more BC and now their product is Premium Y. Actually they could have a bit better service with an amenity kit, etc, etc. Great report !!!!!!!!!!

Great video. So, as a coach passenger in search of free wifi, could I walk up to business class, snatch one of those cards with a code from an unoccupied seat, then go back to my own seat and use it? Or if I had a friend in business traveling at the same time, could we use the same code?
Great report. The only saving grace is you got an empty seat next to you. Not like Air Greenland needs to offer direct aisle access on their planes cause it’s only a 4-5 hour flight , but going backwards by offering an inferior 2-3-2 in their premium section is an utter disgrace. At least if I do go to Greenland i would just stick to economy.
