But it is fun to see the little attentions to detail, such as why Yoda is on Toydaria in the very first (and probably worst) episode of the show in the first place. Even the crappy episodes ultimately end up paying off in some way. The worst arc imo is with the little green guy when they have all the astromech droids and they get lost on a salt planet... BUT we get introduced to Gregor and the clone commandos as a concept, and we find out that Gregor survive order 66 and the empire and is living with Rex in rebels. • @katleon312
      @katleon312 3 года назад +125

      Seriously though, in my opinion the major issue with the prequels wasn’t the storyline or the acting. It was the appalling dialogue that sort of made the scenes awkward. Many people blame Hayden Christensen for acting badly and too awkwardly but I think that he did his best with the script he was given. Besides, Anakin is supposed to be awkward especially in Attack of the Clones. In Revenge if the Sith, I believe that he was meant to be more conflicted so his whining sort of makes sense, however looking back at Clone Wars Anakin, there’s no competition between who is the best. They’re two different interpretations of him.

    This show also makes "Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith" have actual weight and pain to it. Watching Anakin evolve, how the war shaped him and his views, showing why Anakin and Padme work so well together, etc better explains his actions in the movie. Everything from how heartbreaking it is to watch Obi Won and Anakin fight to even the more mundane things, like why Anakin would be ticked about being denied the title of Jedi Master--since he's one of the most successful generals in the war. It's all there and even though the dialogue and vicariously the acting is still painful, your personal, emotional investment now exists thanks to this show. I can fucking go on and on about how much I love this show. Yeah, watch this show. Fall in love with the real Anakin Skywalker.

      personally i still do not like revenge of the sith. note anakin was somewhat justified in killing dooku since he couldn't be taken prisoner in a million years based on their situation, less justified in killing those sand people but they did kill his mother (note it explains his reasoning doesn't justify his actions in killing the sand people), however killing children and innocents, trusting a sith is better than the jedi (even though the jedi are fairly flawed it is like saying i hate the hypocrisy of the U.S and join nazi germany), and putting so much faith in an unclear vision that you indirectly cause it. And did this guy really think padme would never find out much less forgive him for the countless people he's killed. Also under the emporer he condones and in fact bolsters with brute force the slavery of multiple species including wookeis (given he's given in at this point the transistion just doesn't work). The primary issue is anakin's process in thinking the darkside could possibly save padme. And why the hell did anakin even remoltey 100% trust sidious? Like WHY? He could've left the jedi order just as ashoka did.

    • @heatherwills3404
      @heatherwills3404 4 года назад +6

      @@ravimanne8148 I agree. Most of the movie is bonkers in the leaps of logic and the complete lack of any angle that would make sense in motivations. I only meant that Star Wars Clone Wars creates Anakin as a fully fleshed-out person with both good and bad parts. In the series, he makes a lot of choices that the Jedi frown on, but normal people would consider commendable, like not giving up on Ashoka when it was believed she died or risking his life with his men, valuing every single clone's life, and feeling real emotion and empathy when any of his men died. (Which considering how much he valued life and wouldn't give up until every option was exhausted to save people, what he did in episode 3 is even more WTF?) The SWCW series allows the viewer at least some type of real emotional connection and regret when Anakin falls to the dark side. That's all.

    Coming back to rewatch this is always so funny when Marcus just INTENSELY asserts that "this fixes what YOU hate about the prequels" and that the creators "hated the prequels", because of the fact that a large amount, perhaps even a majority, of clone wars fans are prequel fans and both Dave Filoni and Sam Witwer have spoken in detail about the things they love about the prequels. You can't really make an entire show about the mythos and lore surrounding the prequels if you hate them

Lucas was constantly guiding the team, and the main guy behind the wheel was Dave Filoni, who talked very positively about the prequels in multiple interviews. He's a fan of all things Star Wars. Where my love for Star Wars began. I remember my dad taking me to watch the film when it was in cinemas and I fell in love right there, as a 6 year old kid it was the best thing I’d seen in my life. The movie has aged badly granted but it walked so the series could run, it’ll always have a place in my heart for making me love Star Wars. While Return of the Jedi will forever be my all time favourite film both in Star Wars and in general, the Clone Wars is my favourite media of all time and the greatest saga in Star Wars (in my humble opinion).

    The thing that appeals to me most about The Clone Wars and why its so beloved by fans is that, despite the title, the show _never_ romanticizes war and repeatedly goes out of its way to show the good guys taking massive casualties without ever veering into shock value

    I honestly feel like the first episode, "Ambush" is really good for setting the tone of the series. I was hooked the moment where Yoda had the squad remove their helmets after they expressed they were all the same, so he could address each of them as individuals; you could see right there and then that they were treating the Clones as actual characters, rather than nameless troopers as the films did. Plus, Episode 5 of season one "Rookies" is good, since Echo and Fives get a lot of screen time throughout the series.
    The Clone Wars was great because it solved the most major issue I had with the prequel trilogy. The time skip between the start of the First Battle of Geonosis and the middle/end of the Battle of Coruscant was extremely jarring. So much obviously happened between those two films. With the Clone Wars, we see what happened. And getting time to see why certain background characters were actually important was pretty cool.

You also get to meet the clones and u get a bigger view of how the clonewars was for the clones.

    i think the clone wars showed more of a reason as to why Anakin would join the dark side all of sudden in episode 3

      Same, it honestly makes it better to me, he just slowly becomes less trusting of the Jedi, being willing to further further with boundaries, and doing darker things. Obviously, there’s still a gap between end of the show and episode 3, but still, it’s jice

      @@sneakysquid9917 certain stories in the clone wars really highlight how the jedi council didn't trust anakin or helped him deal with loss
      like the council not trusting him with obi wan faking his own death and just leaving him to deal with it
      or how the council instantly turned on ahsoka when they thought she was behind the bombing at the temple causing her to leave the jedi order
      if you watch the clone wars you realize that when anakin started having vision of padame dying like he had with his mother you just see a desperate man who can't take losing anybody else and palpatine used and exploited that

      metalsonic91 if you watch him in later seasons, his temper is a lot shorter and he kills more people lol

      @@GDubbJr Exactly and they give reason for it. All the things that happened further alienated Anakin from the council. metalsonic said pretty much the bulk of it. I mean that's far more interesting than him just being evil. The prequels alone without Clone Wars just make Anakin seem like he was destined to be evil. It was obvious from the start that he would turn, even without watching the OT.

      It absolutely did. It shows how the council betrayed his apprentice, how he grew jealous of the guy hitting on Padme, his hatred towards the slave traders, his anger towards ventress interrogating and threatening her, it showed how the council didn’t trust anakin by keeping obi ones secrecy of being alive etc.The clone wars is a masterpiece to be quiet frank. I’m very glad its back and i hope Disney doesn’t force any nonsense to be added into the already finished seasons. Disney better leave Dave filoni alone and let him do his magic. Because he clearly knows exactly what hes doing and he actually understands and most importantly LOVES Star Wars.

    I liked this video because it was interesting to me to hear such a different opinion from what I'm used to. though I disagree with almost everything you said about the prequels, I do agree with most of your opinions about the clone wars. and I hope others may act in a similar fashion. "may the force be with you"

    I liked the prequels. However I feel like they needed more movies for the prequels to make sense. The Clone Wars filled in those gaps. Plus you get more Darth Maul. It's a win win. Great series.
