  • How you anchor you traps is probably the most critical part of your trapline. The last thing you want to do is run the risk of losing one of your traps because it isn't anchored solid. I'm a big fan of cable stakes, but there are plenty of folks that use rebar, so here's some tips if you're thinking about using rebar.     I always use cross stake my coyote sets. I use rebar and regular stake. I make my own. As for remove the stakes , I hit them with the hammer to loose them and then pull them out. It works for me .

    Good tips. I prefer cross staking with rebar, I connect my tap chain to the cross stake swivel with a quick connect link. That way I can pull my trap and leave the stakes behind short term say due to freezing or foul weather.

    The s hook that comes with the cross stake swivel how can you open and close it the s hook?
