Problems with Drugs and Crime in Kensington Ave, Philadelphia
In Philadelphia as a whole, violent crime and drug abuse are major issues. The city has a higher rate of violent crime than the national average and other similarly sized metropolitan areas. The drug overdose rate in Philadelphia is also concerning. Between 2013 and 2015, the number of drug overdose deaths in the city increased by 50%, with more than twice as many deaths from overdoses as homicides. 2 Kensington's high crime rate and drug abuse contribute significantly to Philadelphia's problems.
Because of the high number of drugs in the neighborhood, Kensington has the third-highest drug crime rate by neighborhood in Philadelphia, at 3.57. The opioid epidemic has played a significant role in this problem, as it has in much of the rest of the country. Opioid abuse has skyrocketed in the United States over the last two decades, and Philadelphia is no exception. In addition to having a high rate of drug overdose deaths, 80% of Philadelphia's overdose deaths involved opioids, and Kensington is a significant contributor to this figure. This Philadelphia neighborhood is said to have the largest open-air heroin market on the East Coast, with many neighbors migrating to the area for heroin and other opioids. With such a high concentration of drugs in Kensington, many state and local officials have focused on the neighborhood in an attempt to address Philadelphia's problem.

In the 70's and 80's, young people used a variety of drugs for recreational use. When the time came to stop because of the need and the desire to pursue jobs and careers, to get married and to start families, 90% of us were able to put it all down and to cease everything, (maybe drink a little on the weekend or smoke a little pot), with no problem. Not a problem for me and those in my circle. It was just time to grow up and to move on. Then I started to notice the younger generations behind me were having trouble putting their "party days" behind them. Now it is unbelievably sad these people, of all ages, are essentially enslaved by today's drugs. I don't judge them. My ❤ goes out to them for their wasted lives. The government will not help them because the government is becoming enriched by the cartels by allowing the flow of drugs into the country. God Help Us as a Nation.
NO DRUG IS FOR RECREATIONAL USE. Rather do sports, Become a volunteer. Smell the fresh air. Work in the garden. Nahhhh they are all responsible for what they have done = destroyed their bodies and their minds. All thrash

I'm from Germany. As a former drug treatment worker, I am shocked every time I see these videos. How can it be that the richest country in the world allows something like this? Isn't there any help? It's a shame for the USA.
Because the US Govt C.I.A. recently admitted they take vast amounts of money from the cartels to allow the flow of drugs into the country. It's a culling of the population as well for the sake of money. We have been sold out here. That's why the richest country in the World is allowing this to happen. Nearly every politician, of both parties, is aware and is also, most likely on the take.
It's a shame you don't see the same thing in the streets of Germany.
@@user-js5os6lg6u There most definitely are RUclips videos of massive drug house in Frankfurt, Berlin and in other major cities. If you search for them in the search bar, they’ll pop up. However, I agree the problem is massive here in the States. I live in a medium size city and the addicts are everywhere.

When we are spending $10,000 to $30,000 per month per illegal, giving BILLIONS to Ukraine and other countries, spending on NATO when European countries don't, paying interest on 34 TRILLION debt, an actual American citizen is last on the list.

I think one thing you fail to contribute to this problem is I bet a very high percentage of these people were lazy their entire life, never had a job or held one down, didn’t mind their parents or abide by the law, didn’t finish school, drank and smoked weed at an early age. This is a very unfortunate situation that these people are in but don’t blame it on everything or everybody other than the person addicted themselves. You seem to think this is a government issue and that’s who should solve it. The government doesn’t help pay anything for me so why should my tax dollars pay for this. Lock these people up for life if that’s what it takes to get them on the right path.

I heard it is the real estate companies wanting to drive people out of the apartment building nearby so they can reinvest. The drugs & street people are used to drive the normal people to move out. The police have been told to leave them alone,let them destroy themselves slowly.

Lots of the money has been stolen by corruption and weapons provided by America have wound up on the black market. And it was Boris Johnson that stopped the peace deal in Ukraine. They should just put it up for a vote whether the Russian speaking provinces of Ukraine wish to cede and become part of Russia.
