To think no person in this video is alive today. You have done a sterling job of keeping them 'alive' in this great video!
Thx!!!
For a long time now... strange
How do you know that?

This is my newest fav from your library.
Seeing the Great Wall from a moving train in 1911. Wow!!!
yes!!
Thank you for making these video's
Thx!!
Thank you so much for your hard work. This is really a wonderful slice of history and seeing the people who were smiling at the camera was precious.
thank you!
@@NASS_0yes I wish we had footage from the 1800s and before. Wouldn’t that be cool
Nass, Thanks for the upload. Notice the Chinese men still wore pigtails. I think they did so Qing dynasty to the 1920's. Qing-The Manchu led imperial dynasty and the last imperial dynasty in Chinese history. In the 1920's many young Chinese men and women students studied abroad to Europe and the United States, and their hair style changed to the western hair style. I read most Chinese men did not like the pigtails, but this was a punishment from the emperor in the Qing dynasty age. Just some history I read. Plus, at 10:54 The Great Wall of China.
thank you!!!
Wearing the queue (pigtail) isn't a part of Han Chinese culture, but was imposed on China by the Jurchen (Manchurians) who founded the Qing Dynasty.
@@LeydenAigg Yes! this is what I meant. The pigtail was forced upon the Chinese males. They did not want to wear it. Thanks for explaining it more in detail for us all. I knew somebody would reply who knew more about this subject than me. Thanks! My compliments! All the best. 😊
@@sonnycorleone8352 I'm glad I was somewhat helpful.

I'm in the present, watching someone from the past, waiting for someone to watch us from the future.
At least we aren’t terrified like those in the future of us 😂
Imagine telling these featured that in 114 years almost anyone on the planet will be able to view these recordings
Makes me wonder if they had ever been filmed before. They look transfixed by the camera! Thanks again NASS!
Probably not. Camera was super new. Most people didn’t know what that big boxie thing called camera was. Especially working class. Many wealthy families could afford to have their photos taken so they knew what it was but not rural farmers and factory workers
Everyone fascinated by the filming. Great video. Thank you ❤
Thank you
Thanks for another great video 👍🏻

They’re quite mesmerized by the camera 🎥 not a common sight then. And yet I should think none of them ever saw this film of themselves.
Love watching all these rickshaws drawn by physically fit runners.

@NASS_0 Thank you!!Fascinating glimpses of the past, which alway's piques my interest!!!
They either fled to the smaller Pacific islands, shipped to the Americas or deleted. There were natural disasters like massive flooding +100k dyed and of course there were famines caused by Mao.
They were killed. Modern Communism has White Supremacist bias too.
c100MIL Black Asians were deported/killed. Since c1800AD. Mostly by Anglo-European colonizers...
open secret now. #ApartheidAsia
I was fortunate to visit Beijing and Shanghai a few years ago. I remember walking around the forbidden city a.k.a. imperial palace in Beijing. It’s easy to imagine these scenes being outside the walls of the royal residence.
I did not see a single automobile. Either Peking was incredibly behind the rest of the world, or I strongly suspect that this predates the 1910s.
They weren't as advanced as whites yet.
They were very poor and very behind in tech. How many horse-drawn carriages did you see even? They still relied on boys pulling the carriages!
The almost generic look....not quite a stare....is striking in that it indicates to me a curiosity and a deep resentment at the same time. China's population was 450 million which led to land shortages, famine, and an impoverished rural population. Heavy taxes, inflation, and greedy local officials made the situation worse. Not the best of times for China and her people. Thank you for your very fine work and for sharing it.
thank you so much
Some of these look more Australian Aboriginal than Chinese

Why did you change their skin color?

Korea, China, Japan were settled c50'000yra by AFRICANS. Central African Bantu Speakers especially...
Modern Japanese still has Bantu Linguistic syntax...

How I love history. I would really like to live in those times. Calm and carefree time. The best days were...
Wow instead of PULLING a Pulled rickshaw those guys were using huge WHEEL BARROWS with seats.
The single wheel was used along pathways created by pedestrians and presumably animals such as cattle or horses. The dual wheels were only suitable for roads in urban areas or those with dual tracks in rural areas.
I've seen pictures showing 4 adults seated on a single wheel "barrow".
💯👍

This is great footage but what happened to all the Black Chinese?
They're Afro-Asians, it was due to many Africans migrating to China for work in the 19th century, so obviously there are less and less nowadays ("sources" saying otherwise are absurdly wrong), but also in the video they appear to be darker because of the contrast, you can see it by the shadows and dark background.
A lot of kept secrets...
@beardedlonewolf7695 They are not "Afro Asians" The original Chinese people were black. They are the indigenous Chinese people...
@@beardedlonewolf7695 Africans settled ASIA/SIBERIA/MELANESIA, c50'000yra MINIMUM...
Since c26KBC, 90% of Asia's population, c100MIL, was phenotypical AFRICAN.
Those Black Asians were killed by during the past century! c1901AD "Boxer Rebellion" was BLACK SHAOLIN MASTERS and entire ancient dojos. These Black peoples of China are NOT MIGRANTS!
@@beardedlonewolf7695 no they wasn't taking as workers in Asia, they are indigenous original organic people to China, until caucusian started mixing them , once you see the mulattos mongroliad Chinese today , you already seeing their black ancestors, they replace them , every culture in China came from their black ancestors., now they hide everything about their black ancestors, but nothings sink just few 100 years ago , books video are still around to this date.

5:20 В 1910-м году в Пекине было левостороннее движение?
I think the video is more about 1909/early 1910 than later, because from 1911 onwards there were numerous uprisings throughout the country, a prelude to their communist revolution of 1927.
For me, this is like visiting another planet...wow...what a different culture.
a window to the past. I want to jump through
They all look so different from nowadays people. Captivating to think how these days people will look like 100 years past
Asia used to be a BLACK AFRICAN population until the mid 1900sAD...
Racial purges killed off c100MIL Black Asians... #genocide
Not a cell phone in sight. Just people living in the moment

Amazing there was a battery powered video camera with color and sound some 115 years ago. I wonder if that was a tourist who was carrying it? There were battery powered electric trucks back then in American and European cities doing local deliveries in city centers.
They were solar powered
@@racoats1 Really? I find it hard to believe.
Filmed during the reign of the last emperor - or possibly thereafter - and just before the establishment of the Republic of China in 1911, with the elected provisional President Sun Yet-sen from the Nationalist Party as the leader, who was influential in overthrowing the Qing Dynasty.
It’s wild to think that every human being alive on the planet today are all a completely new set of humans compared to during the time of this recording. If that makes sense, lol.

You can see the Melinon in alot of the men's skin. Definitely looking mixed race Black‼️
They were originally dark skinned, even more so than the video. Look carefully at the video. Once the colour correction vanishes, you can see the actual colour.
Still pictures of the time do not support this video's dark skin presentation. When the heads are lighter than the shoulders and down, somethings wrong, sun exposure doesn't work that way.
If Africans had sailed and mixed with China this video would not be so weird.
@@evian6673 Not true, still photos from the 1900's don't support your claim. Humans don't change that much in just a 100 years.
@@JR-cf3wh "Modern Asians/Native Americans" are NOT genetically representative of Ancient Asians though...
