Great interview, Mike. You asked fair questions and even the occasional tough one that I appreciated. Thanks for Mr. Turner agreeing to appear in “our”community and being so transparent 👍❤️
Loved listening to a couple collectors talk about their collecting experiences and a little PSA mixed in there. One of the best Nat Turner interviews I've seen. Great job Mike.
WOW! I just laughed in amazement when he brought out the 1954 and 1960 wax boxes. What a collection he must have. Great interview, Mike. Thanks for bringing Nat on. He was a pleasure to listen to.
I always thought my '54 unopened Topps pack was one of the coolest and most tempting to open things I had. Then he pulls out a whole box. And a '54 unopened Bowman AND '60 Topps wax BOXES. Unreal that these even exist.
This was the BEST interview I’ve ever seen with Nat! Really candid and interesting. Great to hear their plans with the PSA app and set registries since it’s currently such a slow experience. There should definitely be a follow up interview one day
Thank you for this, Mike. I really like the way Nat talks about cards and I truly appreciate his openness when talking about PSA. More of this, please!
Epic episode with Nat Turner! WOW, the unopened vintage boxes and Gem Mint 10 vintage! INSANE! 🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯 Loved it! Thank you Mike for bringing this to us! Merry Christmas! 🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄
Great interview! I love the items that Nat showed. Like you’ve said many times…someone always has a bigger boat! You did a great job with the questions that you asked Nat. Al thought you didn’t ask some questions that some folks might have wanted, you left the door open for future episodes.
Great interview. I'd push back on "we don't curve the grading standard of a card". The 1988 Fleer AS Michael Jordan is the best example. They all have the ink flaw across the bottom. Even the 10's.
Excellent interview. One question I was begging you to ask. Lead times on vintage haven’t improved. Still 3 months. Or higher. Would have liked to hear a plan.
He makes the comment about his kids collecting Pokemon and it being something he will never understand. We have found the one that that Turner and I have in common.
Good and informative interview, but notice you didn't broach the difficult subjects like pop controlling, or the large numbers of outed altered cards that have found their way into numbered PSA slabs. Would have been interesting to hear his responses there.
I agreed on silliness of grading at one point. I bought a PSA 8 1975 Brett at the 2000 All Star game fan fest. I broke it out when I got home. 20 years later I submitted it back to PSA and it came back a PSA 6. PSA labels so much more attractive than SGC. And I like their slimmer slabs. Just wish they could get their turn aroud time down to two weeks like SGC. My average time is 5 months with PSA. Should have asked him about the biggest issue--turn around time. Frayed edges are not beautiful.
Great interview! As a Banks collector - that rookie WOW! Would love the registry to allow other companies - would make me participate. Most of my HOF sets and player runs are 80% PSA and 20% SGC - just would rather buy cards than pay for crossovers.
Of course I think of this now but it would have been cool to end with the Beyond Cardboard questions. I miss that segment. Please keep that in mind for the future. Anyway, awesome interview.
Always enjoy your content. Not sure if you have discussed in detail in a previous episode, but I don't quite understand "the registry" and how it works with regards to a collectors individual card collections and complete sets. Do collectors send complete sets (e.g. 1975 topps 1-660) in to PSA for authentication? They (PSA) keeps a record of my complete collection?
Great interview! Sounds like a lot of good features in the works. Nat, if you read this, maybe you could staff up engineers faster if you didn't require us to be in Santa Ana, CA!
Mike, unless I missed it as I watched the whole video in parts over a few days. Did you ask him about PSA controlling pop counts? Now I don’t expect him to say yes, but I would like to hear his answer. Do they take extra caution in grading when an iconic rookie card comes in?
Nice interview. Do you know if PSA put out a list of those 250~ deactivated certs, notified the owner/submitter, or just leaving it up to the collector's to discover the deactivation on their own?
@BaseballCollector Yeah, you would think so, but in this interview, Nat says they (PSA) hope the owners will contact them. Sounds like it's up to the current owner to discover the deactivation.
Can you ask him about the PSA pack holders internal frames? Will they implement AI 3d printed frames as he mentioned in this episode and how soon if so?
I find it interesting that the Aaron rookie has a rough cut and it's a 10, but Nat said that they don't give a break for known issues within a set? It seems that is a perfect example that they do.
PSA has never considered rough cuts an "issue" which results in a discounted grade. Ever, back to their first published standards. They may look different, and some people might not like cards with rough cuts, but they aren't considered a flaw.
Good show Mike. While I’m not a fan of your guest, it was still a good show. Changing the grading standards was a terrible decision and there are thousands of examples. I have several of those cards that should have easily graded a 6, perhaps 6.5 that came back a 4. And then compare that 4 with prewar examples of rounded corners, minor scratching on edges and surfaces that also show a 4 are just too much. Sorry, got off on a little tangent. Thanks Mike.
Great interview, Mike. You asked fair questions and even the occasional tough one that I appreciated. Thanks for Mr. Turner agreeing to appear in “our”community and being so transparent 👍❤️
Thoroughly enjoy this podcast, great hobby questions and solid answers. Thanks Guys!
Nice job Mike! Didn't realize Nat was such a big collector himself.
Happy Holidays! Hope you are doing well!!! Thanks for all you do for the cardmunity! Amazing cards amazing channel!
Really cool interview with Nat The Collector!

Loved listening to a couple collectors talk about their collecting experiences and a little PSA mixed in there. One of the best Nat Turner interviews I've seen. Great job Mike.
Thanks Scott.
@24:41 all those off center panini cards
Great interview Mike !! Nat sounds like an amazing collector and it was fun to hear him talk about it. Those boxes were the craziest thing ever. 🤙🤙
No doubt!
That 54 Hank 🔥
Nice interview, Mike. Hopefully PSA can get its act together and detect more the rampant card alteration that's become so prevalent in the hobby.
WOW! I just laughed in amazement when he brought out the 1954 and 1960 wax boxes. What a collection he must have. Great interview, Mike. Thanks for bringing Nat on. He was a pleasure to listen to.
Thanks Rick. It was a lot of fun.

Pretty crazy for sure.
This was the BEST interview I’ve ever seen with Nat! Really candid and interesting. Great to hear their plans with the PSA app and set registries since it’s currently such a slow experience. There should definitely be a follow up interview one day
There will definitely be a sequel to this Josh.
Thank you for this, Mike. I really like the way Nat talks about cards and I truly appreciate his openness when talking about PSA. More of this, please!
He has agreed to come on again. It will happen.
Epic episode with Nat Turner! WOW, the unopened vintage boxes and Gem Mint 10 vintage! INSANE! 🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯 Loved it! Thank you Mike for bringing this to us! Merry Christmas! 🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄
You bet Adam. Glad you liked it!!
Fantastic interview Mike! Awesome
Best interview of the year Mike!
nats a great interview! look forward to part 2
Great conversation Mike! Nat seems like a good dude. His collection sounds ridiculous. Great job, excellent interview! Thanks for sharing this!
Thanks Darren.

Nat definitely has one of the biggest boats. LOL. I'm just grateful he gave me a little tour of it.
Loved the interview! That 1 hour interview seemed like 15 minutes. Time flies when you’re having fun. Thank you!
This was awesome. I didn’t want it to end. That hour flew by. Great questions. Semi decent answers lol. Really great job Mike. Well done.
Great interview. I'd push back on "we don't curve the grading standard of a card". The 1988 Fleer AS Michael Jordan is the best example. They all have the ink flaw across the bottom. Even the 10's.
Aaron with a rough cut in a 10? Excellent point.
What a great conversation. Nat is so down to earth. But he really has a big responsibility to the hobby.
Yes he is and yes he does.
Excellent interview. One question I was begging you to ask. Lead times on vintage haven’t improved. Still 3 months. Or higher. Would have liked to hear a plan.
@58:00 interesting insight
He makes the comment about his kids collecting Pokemon and it being something he will never understand. We have found the one that that Turner and I have in common.
Great interview Mike, great to hear him talk about his collection. Let’s hope he can improve consistency and customer service at PSA.

Excellent interview Mike; looks like PSA is in great hands going forward. Have a great Christmas.

Next time!

THAT BEING SAID, EVEN NATE HAS FALLEN VICTIM TO THE BAGMAN. 75 MINI'S IN A 52 HOLDER, SUUUUUUUUCKS.
GREAT DUDE, LUCKY TO HAVE HIM CAPTAINING THE SHIP.

I would certainly think that they notify the owner/submitter.
