The reason Modi was so riled up about Magnis death was because he was destined alongside his brother to survive Ragnarok, so Kratos defied fate again

That's our norse mythology, the fate of the 9 realms after ragnarok isnt explicit with details surrounding which gods survive in the game, honestly it could be jotted down to simply Modi being unable to understand how a man was able to kill an Aesir God

There are around 13 "present" norse gods as in gods that were around at ragnarok in mythology, only 7 were killed, seems like quite an incomplete god of war duology for me, kratos should grow but the gods should all be evil and should be killed, thats the fun of god of wars concept, its boss fights against different mythologies' gods resulting in their satisfying deaths, trying to add some steven universe type "use your words" message to the games kinda ruined it for me...

13:44 I love the detail of Baldur saying "you've done what the All-Father could not". After going through Ragnarok, we can see that Odin, if he really wished so, could probably figure out the mistletoe weakness. But as he always do, he wants people at the point he can use them. He needs Thor to be a drunk so he's more malleable, and he needs Baldur immortal for him to do what he (Odin) needs him to do

For anyone wondering when Baldur died here is what happened. In Norse mythology(and in game) Baldur has a spell on him that makes him impervious to all sources of damage and harm. The thing is in Norse mythology the plant, Mistletoe, is too “young” to agree to that pact and is subsequently the only thing that can harm Baldur but it also happens to be able to break the curse for an unknown reason.
